Floating around on social media is a photo of a sign purportedly taken at Park MGM. It reads:

    Let's Clear the air
    Park MGM is smoke free.

Nothing official from MGM that I can find. They are taking reservations starting Aug. 6 so we will know soon enough. I know smokers won't like this but I believe it is way overdue and it will make Park my go to Vegas property.

In before this gets closed for "Speculation" :p
But I believe this came up about a month or so ago and was confirmed false at that time by the MGM CEO but I dont remember 100%.

Just googled it and says it will be the first entirely smoke free casino resort in Las Vegas. On my phone so if you don’t believe google is your friend.

I googled "Park MGM smoke free" and saw vital vegas saying it was a thing and lots sites that say "According to Scott Roeben Park MGM will be smoke free"
Scot is right about 50% of the time so I am sure at a minimum there has been discussion about it.

But I would not count on it until the official website says so. (right now there is no mention of being smoke free on the website but there is discussion on the opening date)
Google is helpful but not always your friend.

If this is true, I'd actually consider staying at Park MGM.

Currently on the Park MGM website, the hotel rooms are smoke free. It doesn't say anything about the casino being smoke free.

This is a good start - building on the Vdara strategy.

I wonder if PHo will follow thru with their nonsmoking idea.

Almost all of the MGM hotel rooms (not casinos) have been smoke free for a while.

Think there is like one floor at some hotels, which has 'smoking' rooms.

At least that's my last memory, anyway.

i think it’s just the suites you can still get smoking at MGM properties. I was in a smoking PHS at bellagio A couple weeks ago.

Be careful about trusting a headline from Google searches. Google doesn’t usually state anything but kills information from other sources. In this case it is pulling it from Vital Vegas. While this may appear as fact, it’s far from it.

Could this end up being true? Sure! But Vital Vegas also declares with certainty that Sands V/P was shutting down again weeks ago. Take their reports with a side of caution.

@ChilliPalmer The rumor was initially reported by Vital Vegas, but the sign photo @BlacklabberMike posted in this thread was also posted on a couple of other Vegas Twitter accounts. I've also seen people who reported being surveyed by MGM about the possibility a few months back. The Park MGM website hasn't been updated to reflect it, but it seems pretty clearly true (to me, anyway) at this point.

I think Park MGM has to be made unique in some way to improve it's appeal, and this would get people mentioning it.
It stands out now in that casino group as the one for me.

I have seen the talk on social media and I saw that photo that Blacklabber Mike posted. However, I have not seen a reopening date from MGM Resorts for Park MGM and no new announcements from them or Park MGM about the casino going smoke-free. My preference, is that we don't bring these things here as if they are happening until they are, you know, actually happening. :)

It is possible that this is a change that is being talked about, but until MGM or Park MGM announces it, it is still a rumor and any thread on it is speculation.
