I sure hope they keep Eldorado's Reno gambling the same. Please don't imitate Caesars! We love gambling at the Eldorado and Silver Legacy. Never play at any of the Caesars properties in Vegas.

Here is an article from the Press of Atlantic City about the merger.

Of note, however, is the state Division of Gaming Enforcement’s recommended condition to remove all existing deed restrictions on former Caesars assets in Atlantic City — specifically, Showboat Hotel Atlantic City, The Claridge hotel and the former Atlantic Club Casino Hotel — that was excluded in the final approval at Plousis’ request.

The Regulators in NJ wanted Caesars to remove the deed restrictions on those properties to make it easier for competitors to enter the market, but it was removed from the final agreement.

Everything is going under Caesars Rewards. Eldorado said this and they mentioned Caesars online, app, etc. is superior to anything they have.
Though they did mention working on Caesars marketing and speeding up offer turn around times.

I am a bit Nervous about this think the Merger will hurt the current reward system and the offers.

The current Caesars’ reward program besides easily achievable free rooms has been sliding for awhile now

I like the Ability to get Free Rooms from Caesar"s but usually mergers go against the customers.

I agree, things won’t get better for the customer as far as comp benefits.
They’re going to look at total rewards & say “you sure give a lot of rooms away free”

I think they will adjust the no resort fee based on the diamond tier level. I can see them say diamond elite and up is no resort fee. Diamond plus free lounge and diamond free parking

Hoping it might drive competition in some markets. I was talking with a local host at a non Eldorado/Caesars chain. He said they have some concerns about losing business if the local Eldorado program (Trop) switches to Caesars. There are a lot of Caesars players and they have an even bigger network now.

It's a bad blow for AC that Eldorado didn't remove the deed restrictions on the Showboat, Atlantic Club, and Claridge. There is only so much land available for casinos in AC and they basically wiped out a large chunk of the Boardwalk from having any kind of gaming.

I guess I read the original post that Eldorado would become the loyalty program... but I think it means they will maintain/administer the CET program.

    From News:
"Eldorado also will take hold of the Caesars Rewards loyalty program and integrate existing Eldorado customers into it quickly."

Where there’s a will, there’s a way. It was the state that backed off and didn’t require Eldorado to remove the deed restriction. It makes no business sense for Eldorado to do it voluntarily as it would possibly open the door to more competition.

As for “only so much land available”, the boardwalk is about 3 miles long with plenty of property available for development, plus there is a lot between Borgata and Harrah’s. In addition, Trump Plaza could be bought for a song, but they just fenced off the property. This may be due to plans to demolish Trump Plaza. Showboat’s deed restriction expires in 2024, but the current owner claims to have bought an adjacent lot and could build a casino on that land. He recently announces a new scheme to build a water park on that lot.

I hope your wrong about that. The main reason I try to stay diamond is for the no resort fee. And I doubt I will hit elite

The only thing that's certain, is that change WILL come eventually as part of this merger. What's uncertain, is what exactly that change will be, and when exactly it will happen. Now we get to wait and see, and hope we don't lose our favorite perks.

There are only 2 things that I heard are certain:
    1. Eldorado CEO claimed he wanted to save $500M per year after merge
    2. Carl Icahn is the biggest share holder of the combined company. go figure.

There will surely be changes. What and how quick is the unknown.

Keep in mind that good comps bring in more customers, so that is in our favor.
    and at the same time.

Comps cost money. That is not in our favor.

It is all about the balance.

On top of that.. By the time everything settles customers will be past the "Pent up demand" part of the pandemic and onto "Do I have the Money? or Is it worth the risk" phase.
This should highly discourage a big drop in comps at least for the short terms
