    My Trip Report

Hi all. Wasn’t going to write this up but I figure we’re all desperate for neon and adventures, and I took some pics so why not.

I had some free time so I took the trip to Encore. They just opened up this week. I wasn’t sure if their shuttle bus from the Orange line would be running, but it was! The driver walked through and wiped things down before we boarded.

The way you enter and exit has changed a bit, so I walked by some stuff I don’t normally pass.

The Rare steakhouse menu. I’m actually quite interested in the New England shellfish bake. Seafood is expensive so it seems like a good deal. My go to place, Waterfront, isn’t open yet [emoji3525]

I have to say I really enjoyed all the vivid red, a nice shot in the arm during such dreary times.

Passed the pai gow area. They have a pretty steady tiles game here, usually $100 but occasionally lower. Pai Gow Poker minimums were $25 on this day.

I found mask breathing easier in the casino, maybe the air is better than it is on the street lol. I was struggling a bit with the mask outdoors and I wasn’t sure if I could keep it on inside, but I soon forgot all about it.

They have one of these nerdy big six games now. I don’t recall seeing it previously, but then again I wasn’t looking for it.

If you read my reports you know I am a 90% micro-roller and I like to play the old clunker machines. While everything is new here, there is still some low rolling to be had.

Even though every other machine is off, I still found plenty of Stinkin Rich and Coyote Moon games to play. Stinkin wasn’t being especially cooperative on this day, but I still enjoy the chase of pinching a penny until it screams.

I tried to snap an example pic of some of the dividers Wynn has up but they’re hard to see, so clean. There is an etching to the Wynn symbol on there too, classy.

I really wanted to play Moon Maidens but it just takes my money, except at the Orleans lol

I had a great run on Coyote Moon. Love to music on this, so relaxing, especially when Im not losing.

I have been watching too many SDGuy1234 videos. I found myself using his phrases when reading the wins on the screen. “Banana bastards” “Bird Bastards” lol

    One good bird-bastard hit

I did play some new stuff. I try to stay away from these multi play things but I saw the Native American motif on this and I confused it with Dreamcatcher. I gave it a try (.25 for 4 games) and I quickly had great results!

You can’t see with the coin show but that’s a 5x multiplier under there! Yay!

Drink service was really good. I was so happy to be able to tip the waitresses! I just get prosecco and Perrier there and it always turns out exactly the way I want it.

It was a good day. The staff was great and wipe downs of machines were frequent. I have to admit I wasn’t great about sanitizing my own hands as often as I should have. You get lazy, so that is something to watch out for. Maybe bring a sanitizer buddy to remind each other.

It was nice to just get out of the neighborhood to be honest. Our city is still under curfew so when I got back into town I was surprised to find most everything closed. Bah! Until next time...

Made me go check the hotel rates....

Yikes, starting next month, the hotel is dropping down to only being open 3 nights a week instead of 4.

Wow that is disturbing. I really want this place to succeed but I’m not sure my level of play can keep them afloat lol.

No! Maybe there is kitty litter but I haven’t found it yet.

Every time I get a “how was your visit” email from them (so far, once) I launch into my video keno advocacy campaign. It’s not like regular live keno people!! I think the state doesn’t want to lose live keno playing units to Encore. Such a misunderstood game lol.

Thanks for the review, I was actually looking to see how it was going. I was debating heading down next Friday for some gambling and a nice dinner. It looks like most of the restaurants are closed? Any people at the tables? It looked pretty slow in your pictures.

I have enjoyed my Craps play at Encore Boston. Six tables on main floor. Two reserved tables up stairs. Friday afternoons have been my favorite time. The video poker has treated me better than any other casino in the region. Kronos always pays with the free spins. Free shuttle buses to China town or take the shuttle to the orange line.

I felt it was acceptably steady for a late afternoon. I think I only saw one idle dealer at a baccarat table. Blackjack tables were full, I didn’t notice craps.

The one video poker bar was unmanned but the machines looked to be on. I was approached frequently for drinks from waitresses too.

Their website seems to have up to date info about the restaurants. While I hate that Waterfront is currently closed, there are plenty of other options in all price ranges. And Dunkin of course!

I don’t want to hijack the post but I had been planning on making my own so figure I’ll comment here to save space...

I went a week ago and encore blows Foxwoods out of the water with their covid response. Plexiglass at every bank of machines. People cleaning your machine before you’ve barely stood up. (I saw Foxwoods clean one machine in the 5 hours I was there).

The poker room is entirely 100% dismantled. They’ve moved blackjack tables and the majority of the video poker up there.

I won a couple times but left a couple paychecks ...such is life...but it felt fun and safe to do so.
