Let’s get weird! (Cal-7/14 Bellagio 7/15-7/18)

So this is my first trip report ever, so bare with me. And I do apologize if I don’t post enough during the trip, but I will try to update at least once a day and answer any questions.

So I am at the airport right now, getting ready to depart and should land in Vegas around 11:30. I will be meeting my friends from elementary and high school as kind of a reunion tomorrow (haven’t seen them in a few years.) so I will be soloing it until then. I got my room at the Cal comped so the stay was free and the airfare was around $100 cheaper to fly out today.

I will update later tonight how Cal and the other casinos if you are interested.

I am a low roller who will mainly play craps and a little bit of slots, so I’m not expecting any jackpots or anything. Just hoping the dice are on my side! Lol anyone have any crap strategies that they try in craps? I mainly do the 3 point molly or when my funds are getting kind of low, I will do the Iron Cross.

Any minimums you could list on your trip is helpful. I'm heading out that way next month. We also have a few comped nights at the Cal and Bellagio. Also have a few nights at Luxor and El Cortez.

We've been keeping a pretty comprehensive list of craps minimum on Reddit. Anything you can confirm is helpful. We have separate columns for day and night prices at they can change drastically. I'd be happy to provide you with that list, but I don't wnat to bog down the thread.

What I have been told about minimums is:

Bellagio Day-10 Night -25
California Day-10 Night-10

I have more I can provide if interested.

As for craps strats, on the 3 point molly are you taking max odds? I roll even lower than you. My strat: No pass. place the 5-6-8 for the minimum. Collect 2 hits. Next hit place the 9. Press one unit after and collect the rest. (but for a weird reason I usually skip 4 units on the 6/8 and go right to 5). I've had my 6 or 8 to almost 180 using this strat at Golden Gate (my favorite place for craps) or the D. No strat can beat the system, but I like to get my money back and press on house money.

 

I’ve been looking at that table on reddit the last two weeks lol hopefully it’s still the same. I will post the minimums when I get a chance.

When I was there midweek the craps table were down at Cal, MSS (closed) was one of my favorites.

AFAIK your shots at $5 min might be GG, Fremont, Binions, or 4Q early in the day.

If you get a chance, could you take a look at the Vue bar upstairs at the D and see if they are allowing people to play the machines?

 

Craps at Fremont and 4Q’s were 10$ first weekend open but 5$ the Monday after. Not sure after that but weekdays won’t work with 10’$ minimum bets, downtown anyway. .

 

I love downtown as well as the luxury of the Strip so I am excited to follow along. BTW, I like the fact you are going from California to Bellagio so you are increasing the luxury as you go along this trip.

So today has been off and on. I arrived at The Cal around 12. They checked my temp upon entering. Checked in and the room is nice and modern looking compared to the rest of the hotel and casino. I went downstairs to play some craps. The casino was empty.The table is 10 min all day and night. Lost 100 in about 20 minutes. So I decided to bail.

I walked down to Fremont street which was kind of bare. Tbf it was a Tuesday afternoon. Went inside 4q and played some craps. ($10 min). After losing five straight hands I decided to go check out the golden Nugget. To my surprise they had $10 min craps table. I lost again. I decided to head back to cal and play some craps. Boy am I happy I did! The guy shooting was on one of the best heaters I’ve been apart of. Easily 40 rolls and I was able to recoup and I’m up $400. I decided to call it on the table when he finally hits a 7. Played some slots and lost about $200 but they let me play a lot. I am currently eating at the Cal Cafe eating some pot stickers and waiting for my burger. So far having a blast soloing, but can’t wait for my friends to arrive tomorrow. I haven’t made up my mind if I’m going to call it a night(long day of travel) or head to Fremont.

Maybe the pending lawsuit from bar Owners will allow for an earlier reopening? Doubtful but one can hope.
