    My Trip Report

Everything started out great, had two shows set up Love and Spamalot a pocketful of money and a Penthouse suite set up . Room was not ready so we went and gambled a bit and the usual goofiness. Got into the room and it was tired, frayed carpet, door hanging off the armoire and the TV picture was crap. Called maintenance because if I'm paying that much I want things right. Headed downstairs to gamble and eat BAD MOVE .Ate @ Stack which we have eaten at before and liked but this time 3 1/2 hours after eating I was one sick puppy(Kobe Chile cheese dogs)late night snack.Projectile everything:vomit: To top that off there was a big fight in front of our room that last awhile until we called Security. So Monday I laid in bed until 3:30 pm when I woke up feeling a little better, Sally had went out to the pool and told me about the Hawaiian tropic girls all over.Great I'm just laying here missing everything. I was able to make it to Love which was a very good show even if I was still not up to snuff. Back to bed still feeling bad:grrr:
Called Hotel mgr. and bitched, filled out a report on illness had the meal and a $75 credit taken off bill due to room. Big whoop. Woke up Tues still felt bad by now I have had hardly anything to eat because the thought of it made me gag. Sally said let's go home as she did not want to spend the day by her self so we ended up eating the cost of the Spamalot tickets and on the way home Sally gets sick. So all in all this trip sucked.
By the way if anyone has a email or name of a big wig I am going to let them know how they screwed my whole trip up. Sorry had to vent

We stayed at Mirage, thank you all for your concerns. It was Sally's 50th Birthday and I was hoping to make it great. I do not wish this on anyone. Sally is still under the weather and I'm still sore from heaving. If anyone has a big wig number or email I would be very grateful.

My ex wife knows someone who is related to someone who is pretty high up at the Mirage. This was key when we got our Penthouse Suite there. Two years ago it was almost in brand new condition. I'm so sorry this happened to you. I'll try to get you his email, but if someone else knows before I can get it please throw it up here!

Mesa, what an awful experience for both of you. The Mirage is way down on our list of casinos on the Strip. Standard rooms are small, especially the bathroom, but would expect a penthouse to be exceptional. BTW, just reading the words "kobe chili cheese dog" is enough to turn my stomach.

Sorry about the awful trip. It really sucks when you get sick on vacation.

Sounds to me like the problem wasn't with Stack and bad food. More like a stomach bug you passed from one to the other. I would give Stack another try. But that's easy for me to say since I'm not the one throwing up. Even if it is a bug, I know how you can still get that negative assoociation with the last place you ate.

Hope you get another trip really soon- a great one this time.

Major bummer. There's nothing worse than planning for a special time and then getting sick; and, to top it off, your penthouse suite looks like a major maintenance project. I wish I had a name and email to help you out with, but; I'm just a little fish in a big pond.

Just guessing, but if you or somebdoy else has a host at the Mirage, they could probably get you a name.

Dave this is exactly what I was going to say. Food Poisoning doesn't last that long, I have had a few nasty bouts with it.......And it generally doesn't come on that quickly.....Definately sounds like a bug to me, especially since Sally had the same type of problem a few days later.
As for the room, I have read similar complaints on another board regarding the condition of the Penthouse rooms....Definately write a letter. Call Guest Services and ask for the name of the President of Mirage.....It used to be Sibella I think, maybe Bobby Sibella? Help me out someone.........

The symptoms from the most common types of food poisoning generally start within 2 to 6 hours of eating the food responsible. That time may be longer (even a number of days) or shorter, depending on the toxin or organism responsible for the food poisoning.
You will usually recover from the most common types of food poisoning within a couple of days

Why Sally got sick I'm not sure, except she thinks she grabbed a bite off my plate We were drinking and she is a little fuzzy on the matter or doing a little cleanup(if you know what I mean) . I do not think it was a bug because this was like nothing I have ever had. One of the Mirage employees asked me if I had the Kobe beef so I tend to think something not Kosher in Denmark..Oh well I will try to contact some people @ Mirage and see what they say .Comp nights would be nice:thumbsup: By the way I'm feeling better just in time to go to work

    Damn,I hardly got to gamble

As someone who has studied food-borne illnessess, I'm not saying it wasn't food poisoning, but more than likely, as others have mentioned, it was a flu-bug type of ailment.
One way of checking it out to inquire with the Mirage if other people who ate the same food item at Stack that evening became ill.

Mesa, sorry to hear about your bad time but I must concur with DaveP and LV Lady- the overwhelming odds are that what you came down with was an intestinal virus that seems to be sweeping the country. It peaked about 2 weeks ago on the east coast. Everyone who gets sick is natually going to reflect on and point to their last meal to blame. It's human. Plus, it's rare for food poisoning victims NOT to be back to 100% within 24 hours of onset of their symptoms. Your wife was in close contact w/ you (room, etc...) and contracted it some days after you...pretty classic viral gastroenteritis.

Still, it never hurts to blame DA MAN in letter form...it might score you some freebies.

One reason I thought Food poisoning was one of the employees asked me if I ate the Kobe beef which seemed odd that he would mention exactly what I ate. . Whatever it was it sucked and I guess some bad luck falls on everyone some times although why in Vegas:cry:
