Hello VMB, I'm a long-time reader, but first-time poster. I would appreciate any feedback on where I should stay with my wife for her 30th birthday in late February. She's currently pregnant with our second child, and I really want to show her a great time in Vegas when we can finally get away for a few days for her birthday.

She doesn't care about the room nearly as much as me because we usually don't spend much time in it. My biggest factors are quality of room and location. Normally we love the pools, but in Feb. obviously that's pretty much a non-factor. The only one of the below options we've both stayed at is Bellagio, but she has only stayed there once back in 2014. I have stayed there several times since then. The other places are basically all new for us (I've stayed one quick night at Aria, so I'm not really counting that). It would be nice to stay somewhere new, but the pull of Bellagio is also strong for me.

I am considering the following comp offers from MLife:

    Bellagio Resort Tower Room
    -$150 freeplay
    -$100 resort credit
    -pay resort fees

    Aria standard king
    -$150 freeplay
    -$100 resort credit
    -pay resort fees

    Nomad standard king
    -$150 freeplay
    -$150 resort credit
    -no resort fees

    Park MGM Nighthawk Suite
    -$150 freeplay
    -$150 resort credit
    -no resort fees

    Delano Scenic Suite
    -$150 freeplay
    -$100 resort credit
    -no resort fees

What do you think? Thanks in advance.

Since location is important to you Delano should be out since it's at the very end away from everything. I enjoy watching Youtube room tour reviews from Vegas and one I saw of the Nighthawk Suite was pretty disappointing - it's all 1 room, not separated by anything. Just some extra space used badly with a large wet bar and for some reason a walk in closet. Doesn't even have a fridge.

So that leaves Aria/Bellagio/Nomad. Nomad has $50 extra resort credit and at least $100 saved with no resort fees so if that extra money would make a difference for the rest of the trip, I would say that Nomad is the winner. It's smaller than the Bellagio and Aria rooms but if you aren't spending much time there that might not be an issue.

If that extra $150 or so isn't that big of a deal and you like the pull of Bellagio, go with that.

Aria/Bellagio. Can't beat that kind of comfort. :)
    Also, you're more centered.

The golden nugget, downtown, has an indoor pool. I stayed there before and the room was very nice. There are nice places to eat downtown and casino hopping is very easy.

Vote for Nomad here. I'd actually stay there, even if Bellagio was free, and you had RFs at Nomad.

You'll likely be upgraded to an Atelier room, which has the biggest tub I've seen, outside the 'Tower Spa Suite' @ MGM.

This is tough as you have many of my favorites listed. My recommendation would be the Bellagio Resort Tower room based on what you posted. I've stayed in it a couple of times, and like the end-of-hallway location and size/layout of the room.

Aria would be a good option as it has been my preferred casino, and it is a good location with easy access to many of my favorite properties. I've only stayed in a corner suite there (took an upgrade email offer), and at some point would like to try a standard room.

Delano Scenic Suite is one of my favorites, and if it was more center strip would likely be my go-to choice. Have stayed in the scenic suite more than any other location, but now it would be my first choice only if pools were going to be important. (After staying in NoMad though, I think Delano could up their service level a step, and be even better.)

NoMad is my new favorite, and I have stayed there three times so far (would have been 3-4 more times this year if I was getting back). Location is excellent for access to the places I go, service is excellent, and rooms are really nice. It gives really good access to restaurants at varying levels. I've booked the standard room 3 times, and each time was upgraded to the Atelier room prior to my stay (assume they may be applying the gold status upgrade, but no idea). The upgrade is not something I count on though, so would want to be sure you'd be happy with standard before booking. At some point I want to stay in just a standard room for comparison, though I also would really like to try the Grand suite.

I would recommend checking Vdara as well (another favorite for me). My offers are lower than what yours are, and I still get some really good options there (including panoramic suite at times). Vdara has tended to edge out Aria for me when choosing places to stay in the past. Perfect location for access to Aria, Bellagio, and Cosmo.

All things considered including location and maximizing value, I'd lean towards the NoMad. Maximizing RC's and no resort fee sounds like a winner to me, not to mention a great location. :peace:

I recently (7/5-7/8/20) stayed at Bellagio, and the only thing that I didn't like was the fact that it's designed "old style" in that you have to walk across the gaming floor to get to the rooms.

Never stayed at Delano, it's a casino without a hotel, so, IMHO, why would I stay there??

Scheduled to stay at Nomad in November. Will post a review like always, and the first time I stay at a property, I always post pictures of the room.

You're celebrating, so I think that a suite would be desirable, even if your wife says she doesn't care, I believe she'll still be impressed/appreciative of the gesture.

So, that leaves the Park MGM, which isn't THAT far displaced from Center Strip. You say that you're in your thirties, so a walk in March shouldn't be too much bother. Plus, there's a tram from Park MGM to Bellagio that passes through Aria/Crystals which should make life a little easier.

Based on those factors, I would recommend the suite at Park MGM.

Hands down Aria. Especially for a pregnant wife - their beds are the most comfortable I have every slept on.

I'd go with Bellagio. I typically stay there or CP depending on the trip, but I always look as that being the center of the strip with so many options around to enjoy.

Keep in mind Nomad and Park and non smoking now so that may benefit her being pregnant as well

I've not seen anything about non-smoking other than from the gossip column, so must have missed that actually being announced.

They are not open right now. And that non-smoking rumor has not been confirmed by MGM Resorts.

Sorry, everyone, I wasn't clear enough on this: by the time we are going in late February, she will no longer be pregnant. Our child will be born sometime this fall. No offense to anyone going to Vegas right now, but I wouldn't want to take a pregnant woman to Vegas during a pandemic (or anytime really to be honest).

Good to know. I didn't realize they had an indoor pool there.

Reading through everyone's comments, I might be leaning Nomad now, which is surprising to me.

RE: Vdara, I usually have the option of booking the Vdara Suite with fountain views most weekends. I have never stayed there, but would like to. However, for me at least, MLife recently changed what rooms I can book there and several other places. I haven't played at any MLife properties since January, so the change is not due to a change in play. Must be something to do with the pandemic.

Currently at Vdara, I can only book studio rooms. I also used to be able to book junior suites many weekends at MGM Grand and Nomad, but not anymore. Only standard rooms at both. I am kind of kicking myself because I had a spa suite booked at MGM Grand for the weekend we're discussing. Then they gave me a better offer with $150 free play on top of the $100 resort credit I had on the first offer under which I booked the suite. I cancelled the reservation to re-book with the free play and then the spa suite was no longer available. I guess I got greedy. Oh well.

Are these the rooms with the tub in the main part of the room and not the bathroom?
