....our Healthcare Workers. This year, more than any in recent memory, they have saved more lives that any of us can imagine!!

    Do you agree???

They've had any number correct, and this certainly fits that category.

If one person only, I would have picked Fauci as well.

I couldn’t agree anymore. I work for one of the private hospital in NYC- but I’m part of management so I worked from home during the lockdown but let me tell you the stories I’ve heard from medical staff.
They’ve endured so much physically and mentally. To have to do what most did for 12 hours a day for 5-6 days in a row with the possibility of getting sick, which some did and still have the fight In them to keep patients alive is of superheroes proportions.
I will say the thing...the thing that haunts most is how they were physically witness to many peoples last technical breath.
Most didn’t go without their hand being held by the staff. Families weren’t allowed to be there, but they were owed that last human touch and staff recognized that.

So, yes they are Person(s) of the year.

I agree with the healthcare workers around the world.

My second choice would be Dr. Li Wenliang. Let the world know how severe this beast really was...

Exactly, except in 2006 the Person of the Year was “You”, which almost 15 years later still makes zero sense.

This year, however, healthcare workers absolutely deserved it. They’re doing more than anyone else by far and, unfortunately, in many instances losing their lives to help the rest of us.

Thanks for clarifying that it is a prediction as the actual selection by TIME is 6 months off. I do agree that would be the logical choice. Also agree that they have made some terrible selections.

I think that’s absolutely the correct choice!

Of course, neck and neck in my entire life, are the other two pieces of the Trifecta- the Pandemic itself and George Floyd.

As it is both famous and infamous, this year I might cast a vote for "Ignorance."

Healthcare workers is apt, champster. As are all those folks keeping our grocery stores stocked, etc.

I might have said “Self Centered Assholes” but “Ignorance” is a little more polite.

Famous and infamous. Banal and evil. Deserving and dastardly. It's not always the Good Ship Lollipop. I don't know of two figures who were more impactful on the 20th century than Hitler and Stalin. (Maybe the polio vaccine team(s).) Apt choices.
