I'll have to ask why but the video poker machines on the side of Golden Gate near the Plaza are off. These are the 8/5 machines. If they stay off then I guess I can forget using the ACG coupon there this trip. Hope it's just for today Only vp I see on is in the high limit room there and 6/5 bp will be a no

My guess is because they are tied to the machines at the D Vue bar which are off. Or, maybe it’s something completely different.

This is a logical, but disappointing, reason.

I'll update. It does look like they are rotating machines off. Seeing some off that were on earlier

Ok the VP machines on the side facing Plaza remain off this morning, but I have realized they have some in the back near the hotel registration desk. 8/5 BP. All good.

I played these machines a total of 4-5 hours over 2 sessions on Friday (SF was up to $200+ and RF $1600+) and during my 1st session in the afternoon an employee had taped a note to each machine stating they would be turned off at 11:50pm. Watched the local news that night and headline story was the state mandate to (re)close all bars not serving food so the progressive payouts being linked to the Vue Bar's machines seems to be the reason for the shutdown.

You are right, they are still off and per the slot attendant it is because they were connected to the Vue Bar. Not a tech guy, but how hard is it to disconnect them? ...and my Intel on the machines near hotel registration was bad. These bp machines only pay 1 credit for two pairs. No golden gate promotion for me this trip.

Hard enough to not wanna F with it. Not worth the extra work to them I'm sure.

If you're willing to play 50c+, maybe you can find these listed machines.

Same machines, but there are no progressives at halves and dollars.

I hope they don't take them out altogether, but it wouldn't surprise me because they don't seem to get much play. They're my main reason for playing at GG.

Same here TJC, those fellas get my play for the ACG and LVA coupons the past few years. I'm in a suite at GG right now just for playing enough to max out the coupons. My fall offers will suck, because GG isn't getting anything from me this trip. I think they will keep them. T(my view)is just a temporary set back due to the virus.

I hope you're right. Before those machines, I would only do about $1k coin in per trip at GG. Since then, it's at least $2.5k, sometimes up to $5k coin.

Remember the days of 1% back in FP and free "Girls of the Golden Gate" calendars? It wasn't that long ago, but I sure miss those and the pancakes at Dupar's. If they had these quarter prog. 8/5 BP machines back then, I would have been in hog heaven.

    Enjoy your trip!

So there are several technicians working on the machines now. Hopefully a good sign, but too late for me this trip. I stupidly played my coupon at the slot club before realizing these machines were off. Past the 24 hour use limit If they turn them on, what are the odds of me pleading with them to let me use it if they get these machines up and running? Would I have any luck using a casino host?

The machines are back on and are still progressive at the quarter level

Awesome but I really wish they also made the higher denominations progressive as well.

Does anyone have a suggestion on where to best convert GG free play? I tried to do so on VP near Main St but was unable to do so last 4th of July. I was then told by the GG boothling that no slot machines with progressives over $1,000 would accept them. I am looking at a machine with low volatility if possible.

Not completely true, FAB. I have always run mine through at the Prohibition Bar.

They have royal progressives, but I have never had a problem.

Hi @theoldcoach glad to hear it. Now that the Prohibition Bar machines are shut down, do you have suggestions for when I am there in ten days?
