Illinois Casinos Can Reopen 7/1/2020

That was unrelated to Jim's question, but those will be allowed to resume tomorrow at 9am as well. Honestly I probably would feel more comfortable with those machines for the time being than the cramped Illinois riverboats/floating barges.

 

The Diamond Lounge at Metropolis only has food on weekends. At other times there is nothing in there, not even pop. Just a big empty room. There is also no alcohol served in the lounge. We felt that it was not even worth having one.

 

That sounds depressing

 

Stopped by Rivers today to see how things have changed, if at all.
They have outdoor lines with stickers on where to stand, with security people asking if you were feverish, etc. No infrared thermometer check (maybe this will be in the future?).
Separate line for Rivers elite card members.

Layout is almost the same. Slots and tables are open. Tables have the plastic barrier between dealer and players.
There is also the sports betting stuff -- individual booths facing the wall with plexiglass separators. Lovely!
A number of slots have been moved around the casino.. for example, the Wicked Winnings 3 machine is over by the back entrance.
Some slots are turned off to create some kind of social distancing, but there are a number of rows where adjacent slots are all active.
Even more random -- it doesn't look like all of the Plexiglass separators have been installed. You may see a bank of 4 slots with one separator. Weird.
Mask wearing is occasionally enforced but there are people who were doing the chin strap nonsense.
ATMs and voucher redemption machines have separators if they are all grouped together.

I didn't get a chance to see the upstairs area but I'm sure that's all the same.

Tomorrow, going to check out Horseshoe Hammond.

 

Anyone seen any signs of a 5x multiplier for July yet?

 

At rivers? No.

 

They could probably extend the casino into some of the common areas if they wanted at Harrah's. I believe they are going to restrict the number of visitors and they probably will need to shut off some games. I'm more curious about how they handle it at Hollywood since they don't use all of the space on that barge to begin with.

Rivers has way too much real estate devoted to tables and now sports betting. I seriously doubt they'll shut off half the slots for social distancing.. Unless they get their hands slapped by state regulators.

 

Harrah’s Joliet is very quiet tonight, even for a Tuesday night

 

Roughly how many of the machines are turned on and off? Are they doing every other machine, or turning off multiple machines in between?

 

Every other machine is turned off

 

Did it say anything about being invite-only? The last email I got from Joliet was an announcement on 6/29 that they would reopen on 7/1...

 

I saw some had every other turned off. Also saw a four straight machines with the two in the middle off

 

Looking at the email again, i don’t see any mention of it being invite only

 

And no drinks at the tables

 

Harrah’s Metropolis is having their 5x reward and tier credits July 15-Aug 15th as well
