Are mask required while you are outside?

Only at 6 feet. Otherwise, no, certainly not.
But the street I’m familiar with this spacing is not possible except when stepping alone with a visual to avoid contact.
    Then maybe.

I haven't heard about anyone enforcing them on LVB.

At pools, you're asked to wear your mask to walk around the area, but not when you are socially distanced at your chair, or swimming in the pool.

    Is that what you're asking?

Agreed. At the risk of running afoul of the rules here, casinos have generally realized that it's time to stop screwing around on this, especially given the massive spike in NV. There's a certain amount of risk baked into daily life, so if someone is pulling down their mask for a drink or while seated at a slot machine away from other people, I'm not going to get a ton of heartburn, but they're overall being way more serious. I may have mentioned elsewhere, they wouldn't let my girlfriend into Sahara without a mask (she's a nurse and used to it, it wasn't that she was opposed, just forgot hers in her hotel). Same for MGM properties. And as has been posted publicly, employee failure to wear a mask is now grounds for termination at Caesars properties.

There's not really any enforcement out on the street (part of a long list of things technically illegal/regulated but not enforced). Inside the casino, however, they're being reasonable but definitely strict.

Haven't noticed anyone "enforcing" masks on the street or outside, but I'd be lying if I told you there were a lot of people sans-mask.

    Were, or weren't?

What surprised me the most was that after accidentally falling asleep at my girlfriend's hotel, on the way back home at 5am (she had friends staying with her so had to kick me out), the vast majority of people outside were wearing masks, even at that hour. The homeless drunks on the overpasses were not particularly compliant, but that's probably to be expected. Most people were wearing them, though, which makes me think that it's shifted from being perceived as a "requirement" to something people realize needs to be done.

On paper, yes. The mandate applies to "anyone in any public space throughout the State, including visitors". In practice it's probably not something they're going to ticket you for, but it's theoretically required.

That said, at the risk of veering into inappropriate advocacy, a couple people here and elsewhere have talked about bringing/buying bendy straws. I think that's a decent idea. You don't need to pull your mask down to use one and can still have a beverage.

I was only asking if it would be better to do that than to keep pulling your mask on and off. The less you handle your mask, the better. The biggest issue is people fiddling with their masks. The more you touch it the more you are transferring germs and bacteria.

Won't said germs and bacteria on your mask get onto the straw that you're sipping on, in addition to you now having a mask that provides no protection against inhalation of coronavirus? I think adjusting your mask when there's no one around/significant distance between you and others, and carrying hand sanitizer and/or knowing where bathrooms and hand sanitizer stations are, may be the way to go.

People are *not* sanitizing every time they pull their mask down/off to take a drink. The masks I've seen have teeny tiny slits for a straw - not major gaps. I see bigger gaps on masks that don't fit people well. I will ask some doctors I know who are working with Covid patients in the hospitals in Texas and get their professional opinion, though, between the two options - just to be safe and certain.

You were asking what would you thought would be best ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I agree that you should ask the opinions of several doctors to get their input, preferably ones that are actually "in the trenches" and are working in the ICU's/directly with COVID patients.

I am not that kind of doctor, but I do think a bendy straw would be better. Either way, while it's best not to mess around with your mask, anything is better than nothing. The biggest issue is not people fiddling with their masks; it's not caring about wearing them at all. I don't want the perfect to be the enemy of the good, after all. And as mentioned above, while I don't want to get into the politics of mask-wearing, I do think we're at a point where casinos for sure, and most people in general, have realized that it's time to stop screwing around.

I'm just amazed at the angst over the easy ingestion of adult beverages when all around a pandemic is ablaze. lol

It was weird for me at Harrah’s joliet the other day gambling while totally sober with no drinks allowed at the tables. But everyone had their mask on the whole time that way

I think some medical professionals might say why the $!#!? are we in a casino;)
I try to avoid drinking anything while playing and masked. Load up ahead of time. If I remove my mask I avoid touching the front and have pocket sanitizer. (I carried that before covid)
