Stayed there two nights ago, room 228. Could not beat the price 39$ and no resort fee. Basic room but comfortable bed, good AC, and the convenience of walking up one flight of stairs to the room. Room was exceptionally quiet surprisingly.
Now for the strange part. Around 3 am Both my wife and I were awake in bed talking. I asked about a cash out ticket I believed she still had from the D. She unzipped her purse, which was more like a oversized wallet and checked saying no she did not have it. She zipped the purse back up and put it on the nightstand. About a minute later we heard a crash, turned on the light to find her purse on the floor with ALL the contents out, even the cards that were in the slots.the purse was unzipped. Almost as if someone or something unzipped it and turned it upside down and shook it. No there was not aD ticket in the contents.
Earlier I had gotten up to use the facilities and found her glasses in the middle of the floor.
Later that morning I thought I saw her out of the corner of my eye walking past the bed but when I looked she was not there
None of this gave us a creepy feeling, didn't feel as though we were in the presence of something else.
    Just really odd.

    Interesting.

Over the weekend I met a server from Binion's Steak house. He said he's worked there for 33 years. Born in Vegas in 1953.

Rats. I had hoped you met a ghost who said, "Your ticket is right here. You're welcome!" :)

Dedhd as someone who believes ghosts are energy imprints on crossing timelines :hmmm:I have no trouble with this, can you offer us any logical rational explanation of the purse incident?

Both of you in bed, purse safely by your side. I presume it was far enough away not to have simply fallen from the nightstand.

if you have no logical rational explanation then you never know.:shy:

You should have rented a specialized Apache Hotel Ghost Hunting Kit from the front desk.

Crazy! I seem to recall reading a story here about someone staying on the Strip (?) and a housekeeper was cleaning the room while the guests were sleeping. One guest woke up and the housekeeper noticed and tucked them and said "shhhh".... Am I crazy? Does anybody remember this?

Scottsman, no I don't have a logical explanation. My wife swears she zipped the purse shut and placed squarely on the end table. Even if it was unzipped and fell the 30 or so inches to the floor I don't think everything would have been emptied out, at least a card or a receipt would have remained inside. As for the ticket it was more than likely cashed and my memory was faulty. Perhaps it was a way to prove my wife correct .

If any of the following happened then you might be onto something....

    1. A swift chill taking over the room just before it happened.
    2. If you or your wife felt an unusual tingling in your body from the direction of the purse.

I know nowt about ghosts by the way, but I do have some experience of energy differentials (eg in mundane terms how some rooms/churches/lodges/buildings might make you feel comfortable while others make you feel uneasy, or how different casinos ambiance’s make you feel. Scale that up with practice and life can get rather interesting)

Now that you mention it, something unusual did happen when I stayed at the Hotel Apache about two weeks ago. When I checked in (room 284), I asked the front desk clerk if the room was haunted; she smiled and told me that the entire hotel was haunted. When I got to the room, I found that there wasn’t any counter space in the bathroom, so I placed my shaving kit on a wire rack where towels and other amenities were stored (on the left in the first photo).

When I woke up a few hours later, I went to the bathroom and discovered my shaving kit on the floor in the middle of the bathroom - fortunately, without anything broken. The thing is, it was a really large “accessible” bathroom, in which a person in a wheelchair would have plenty of room to turn around and maneuver - and my shaving kit was on the floor several feet away from the wire rack rather than at the base of it, where one would have expected to find it if it had somehow fallen on its own.
I didn’t experience anything else unusual in the room; no demons in the fridge.

That was likely booze related, not ghost related :)

Several years ago before they shut down the hotel, I stayed at Binions for one night.

I remember it being a maze to get to, with room numbers increasing and then decreasing, long and short hallways.

The room felt more like an apartment than a hotel room. A medicine cabinet in the bathroom. Toothbrush holder. Sliding closet door.

I couldn't sleep, feeling like there was someone in the closet, but not wanting to keep the sliding door open.

I went to the bathroom, and the medicine cabinet door was wide open. I closed it securely with the latch, went back to bed, then would go back to the bathroom and see the medicine cabinet door wide open again.

Didn't really think anything of it until after I'd left, when I read stories of the hotel being haunted. Haven't had an experience like that since (even when returning last year for their seance show in the hotel), but it was a weird feeling.
