Tom Selleck actually looks better now. And thanks for the article. Very cool, but a few typos and misspellings—Danny was Mary's "night." And the line in the writeup about Delinda saying she and Danny had known each other since they were kids is flat out wrong—in the first episode he is in bed with her when Big Ed walks in—totally surprising Danny because he had no idea who Delinda's family was.

A couple of weeks ago I watched a reality show called Holey Moley and one of the players had Josh Duhamel as a friend rooting him on. He was wearing a fur coat and look like life was good. I have six episodes left to have watched the whole series since last Thursday.

I do pause it every so often to check it out and get reference as they move fast.
Weird to see such a huge empty area south of Bellagio.

I just finished watching 106 episodes of Las Vegas tv show. It isn't a true marathon because the last show of the marathon is when they are at a memorial service for Cooper who they thought died in a plane crash. During the memorial service Dee goes into labor. The last scene is when she has blood on her fingers. I know for a fact that there are more shows after that episode. WHY weren't they in the marathon? I am SO angry about this.

IMDb lists 106 episodes so that’s it. The show was meant to come back but a writer’s strike interrupted shooting and the network (NBC?) decided to pull it. I agree, very disappointing. They need a reunion episode.

One thing that annoys me, and this is me just being picky! In the intro they show the positioning of the Montecito as down south of Excalibur and MGM, looks like near the airport. But then sometimes they have shots in Ed's office or other places, and out the window you can see Harrahs. LOL Only Vegas fans would probably catch this. But I did! :kill:

No that was the final episode.
It got cancelled after that, so there was no way to tie things up.
There were rumors that the characters might show up on other TV shows as a way to bring closure, but that never happened.

I wish they had made a final TV movie to wrap the show up, I hate shows that end without an ending.

That seemed to be their MO throughout the series. A lot of footage would show it across from Mandalay Bay with views depicting more center strip. In the episode where the owner flew from the roof to somewhere way north on the strip. I might be wrong, but I think the view shown would have been from a property on the west side of LV Blvd. Could be wrong. It happened once back in the 90s, so anything is possible!

I recorded the whole series almost two weeks ago. I few of the shows in season two got messed up. One had only 30 minutes and another was in the wrong sequence it was supposed be episode three but it was episode four. I'm still on season two so I don't know if there are other episodes mislabeled or that the entire show wasn't recorded. I've already seen some of the later seasons because I watched them not knowing they were going to show another marathon of them that I could record.

I love the show for what it is. Not a documentary about Vegas, but more of a parody about Vegas that was a fun watch. A few random thoughts about the show:

The overhead shots of the strip were great, especially when the Cromwell was still Bill's and the Linq was the IP.

Has anyone that was a regular on the show done anything of note after the show? Caan was great before and on the show but did nothing after.

Mike and Ed were my favorite main characters. Sam and Nessa my least favorites, I could not stand either of them.

As for secondary characters, Poly and Mitch were fantastic, I also liked Erica (the bartender) and Pamona (the stripper).

They were stuck on the word "whale" it must have been said 3,453 times over the 5 seasons. It was just overused.

The writers/producers had no idea (or didn't care) how Vegas actually worked:None of Sam's Whales were ever seen in the High Roller room but were always on the main floor and Sam always had to be with them when they played. Granted, I am not a whale, but I have never even met my host in person and I have no desire to have him watch me play. Yet, Sam always had to be with her Whales.

Oh, and the episode where the guys Wallace sent to Danny for a job, they were sitting unescorted in the surveillance room, yeah that would really happen.

All in all I thought it was a good show as long as you didn't take it too seriously.

I guess Duhamel had the best post-show career, but that's still not saying much.

I will also offer the probably unpopular opinion that James Caan was overrated. He had one all-time role (where he was still overshadowed by the rest of the cast), but other than that, meh. I enjoyed him enough in a few other smaller roles (Bottle Rocket, Way of the Gun, and Honeymoon in Vegas come to mind). But I probably liked those because he was not the lead. He just never had much range as an actor and was boring whenever he spent too much time on screen. Misery is probably the only leading role I really enjoyed him in (but again, he was overshadowed by the rest of the cast)

    Screwed up previous post.

Tend to agree. But he had his moments. My personal favorites of his were The Gambler, Cinderella Liberty, Brian’s Song and Rollerball (Jon-a-than, Jon-a-than). Was always better in a good ensemble, though, which is why he was perfect for Las Vegas, surrounded by other interesting characters.

Obviously the missing episodes were already written. If they can't do a reunion show they could at least tell us what the last few episodes were. Put it in writing for gawd's sake. Faithful viewers NEED to know how the show actually ended ........ the very last episode. It wouldn't hurt to do a Where Are They Now show.

Yep, good job UkFanatic! Seven episodes tomorrow beginning at 4am PST. Right around my wake up time (I know, but I'm an old farmer and routines die hard). It will keep me away from the usual bad news that I often look at in the morning after Charley and I have done a spin around the property.
