Joe: You KNOW I understand – I'm older than you … or dirt for that matter. Barring a major miracle or going totally insane, this will be one of the very few times I won't be in Vegas over Halloween. (No particular significance, merely a tradition.) More than the risk in the casinos, meaning I can move if gets too stupid at the tables, I'm unwilling to be captive in the flying coffins and ground transportation. Here's hoping we're be able to meet up again at the Boars Head before too much longer.

Completely understand Joe. I'm a few years older than you but I've cancelled 2 trips so far ( March & June). I'm still scheduled for a December trip but that won't happen. I still want, at least, one more trip though. But Vegas does not look like it cares anymore. Sad!

No Vegas for me either Joe in 2020. Maybe Biloxi for 3 nights later in the year. Let's hope 2021 brings a better year for all.

Good call Joe, especially as a bartop VP guy. I was out there last week and while mask useage in general was strong, it completely fell apart at bars. Lax enforcement and people using the I'm drinking/smoking excuse just to let the mask hang there for quite a while. Some casinos better than others.

Nothing else you can do. It really is the rational choice at your age and risk level. It sucks to have something taken from you that probably felt like a given 6 months ago.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have considered this scenario where Vegas would be effectively off limits for a year or longer.

Understand completely & I totally sympathize with you. I am type 1 diabetic coming up on my 58th birthday-although well controlled with current A1C of 6.2-6.4. However my daughter & d-in-law working front line in hospitals have dealt 1st hand with the patients who have this. They have let me know in no uncertain terms that i don’t want to risk getting it. My daughter got it at work but luckily just exhaustion & lost sense of taste. My son just looked & me and said he would be so disappointed in me if I went in the near future. I missed my Easter trip which was eating at Eiffel Tower restaurant & painting with the Dolphins.

So likely nothing this year for me either. It’s hard when CET shows a play up offer that would earn up to $1500 FP lol! I have a wedding I’m supposed to attend next April. Who knows if that will even happen. We are sneaking away to Minocqua I a couple weeks.

Keep yourself healthy & safe. Watch slot videos on YouTube like me.

    Hugs!!

    Easter again..:

I feel for ya. I am just shy of 60 and in good health. I cancelled my April trip and am still on the fence for the last week in August. Then there's the 14 day quarantine which doesn't apply to me since I'm an essential worker but would apply to my wife. Probably won't go unless things get a whole lot better in the next 7 weeks.

I feel your pain. I think what bugs me is having nothing to look forward to, trip wise. I always have a trip booked and something to look forward to. I missed my March trip, then my May trip, and now my July is probably off. Mostly because of the Canadian border ( I can't do the isolation for 14 days). I also go to LA often as I have friends there, and to other places around the USA due to my volunteer work with animal rescue. Feeling lost without all that. This is the longest I have gone without going anywhere. But then I feel like a brat complaining about it with all this is going on in the world.

Thank you for your volunteer efforts.

What about a BC getaway? Are any wineries open in Kelowna? Head up to Whistler and get outdoors and enjoy a change in scenery?

I am 76 in good health, blood pressure controlled with meds. I have cancelled two trips, one early April, one late May. Fixing to cancel my late Sept trip., So no trips this year for me. Probably 1st time in over 15 years with no Vegas trips. We are heading to Venice Florida(from Texas) for for 2 weeks on Sunday. Got a house rented. They have a great dog beach and at least 10 restaurants that are dog friendly. So we will just beach, eat on patios, walk the pup and visit with 2 nieces in the area.

wow @Joe I feel ya! I feel same.. back in march when I was there during Vegas shut down I had "unease" feeling while I was there (nervous etc) and
I really didn't enjoy it ( even tho, we did a lot; gambled (positive outcome), nice dinner, shows and etc but I just couldn't shake the eerie feeling I had ..if I was there right now I probably will have that feeling again so im canceling my trip (suppose to leave this weekend)

Outside of GG, DT VP bars were very lax with mask requirements.
