Some OHWs are destined to be that way and others turn out that way for any number of reasons. It might be a novelty song, poor marketing, management or who knows what. Let us know who yours is and why.
I know as the thread moves along, I'll think of more, but the first one I think of is Eagle-Eye Cherry's "Save Tonite." I think it's a well written tune and the video is killer. He plays 10-12 different characters throughout. If you haven't seen it, pull it up on youtube. Very entertaining.

Yes, our good friend Felix Pappalardi (how that movie ends  ). I'll see your Mountain, and raise with Der Kommissar (After The Fire).

I think Bell Bottom Blues alone knocks Derek and the Dominoes off that ignominious perch.

What I've found entertaining is that a lot of these OHWs have some pretty good cover renditions.

If OHWs had a hall of fame, this one would be in there for idiosy.
Video Killed The Radio Star by the Buggles. The first video ever played on MTV.

How about that one-hit classic from ? and the Mysterions ... "96 Tears."

And Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky."

Yeah, they gave me a 45 of it for my b'day when it was popular. :)

    Source of the old joke...
At the club last night, when they played "Jump", I jumped...
When they played "Shout", I shouted...
When they played "Come on Eileen", I was escorted from the property.

To this very day, Norman Greenbaum has lived comfortably off of the royalties from that one song. I find that amazing.
