The experience that I remember having was a long time ago. I don't get pts on FP now at the D.

When I got my June MP's the doubling was with no questions last. In July I was asked and the guy said that he was going to double them. Perhaps he was just trying to take credit for something, or perhaps he was only doubling MP's for hotel guests. Regardless, he took my word on the hotel stay.

Yes. I think the beer was La Fin Du Monde. Do you know it. They also had another, I think Megadeath.

    6/30 D continued.

    I restarted playing .25c DDB a the Vue at 7:45. I hit Q's for $33 immediately, 8's for $31,50 at 7:50, j's $32 at7:56, K's for $33 at 8:03, a Diamond SF for $73 at 8:10, 4's with a kicker for $50 at 8:23, and a club SR for $78.75 at 8:45. I quit for dinner at 8:55 up $250.

I was able to make a reservation at Andiamos . I've heard that they don't like solo diners, but I'm able to get a table from 9pm on, on weekdays. This is my second visit. The ribeye was fantastic. I agree with other's that it is superior to Hugo's. I also had a glass of Malbec. This wiped out my $70 June comps. I think that lots of people are doing splash out meals coming at the end of June and finding the D Grill closed. As an aside, the boths look to be covid resistant with with those incredibly tall seats.

I started playing again at 10:20 pm. I got 3's for $50 at 10:50, 3's with Kicker at 11:15, Aces for $100 at 11:54, I lost the hundred and quit at 12:21.

Sometime during the day I went to GG, drank a Founders Breakfast Stout at the bar, and converted $100 FP into $80 cash.

I still have some Vue Bar play tomorrow before I move to GG

Ok yeah interesting as I guess you don’t get it in Alaska. I’ve down in the lower 48 for over 10 years which makes a relatively old micro brewery and one of the Canadian ones I can think of that imports to the US.

We do get their beer in wine sized bottles. I used to drink it frequently, but Alaska and the US exploded with offerings so I don't get it much anymore. I was surprised to find it at a hockey bar. It was way beyond the Molson's and Labatt's that I anticipated.

    7/1 weds at GG
I's a moving day. I'm still looking for another few hundred D points today to max out my FP coupon. I decide to play the Vue Bar early and there is only a single player. The quad is high, but I lose $100 chasing it at 7:19 am. I hit 9's for $56.50 at 7:26. That may be the highest that I've hit it. I was down for the day, but still pleased. I'm dealt Q's at 7:41, draw 2's for $50 at 7:51. I cashed out a $200 TITO. I hit 5's for $35.75 at 8:28 and lost my $100 at 9:23. The loudest old man on the planet sat at the next machine. He was unmasked of course. For a while it was almost nonstop screaming. He had injured himself recently and it was a story worth retelling as more employees showed up at the bar. I'[m sure I've heard this same man tell a similar or the same story on a previous visit. I picked up my pace and was close to the 1,000 point goal. Just than an BT walked behind me and the guy stopped him and started yelling him a story. FUCK! It was like a foghorn potentially infected by covid was going off in my face. I got up and left the area until he was finished. I had hit K's at 9:30 and quit at 9:36. I finished my play and got the hell out of Dodge.

For those of you concerned about virus spread, my 2 days playing at the D was a mixed bag. Some employees actually ask people to wear them. They even hand them out at the door. Andiamo's booths are like 6 feet high and must offer some protection. Otherwise, the tables are well spaced and conversation muted. I saw table players masked as were most of the machine players. The Long Bar was hit or miss. The new bar Canada was around 50/50, but it isn't crowded during the day.

The biggest issue is the Vue bar which is the whole reason I come to the D. If you come here, the smart money is on some unmasked person (more likely people) yelling, blowing smoke, and or coughing in your face. My first day, I thought there would be ways to deal with this, but their really isn't. I found a pretty well distanced seat at the corner by the door in a largely empty bar. 3 people walk in. Two sit at the handicapped accessible seats and the other sits on the other sided of me. Only one person is a problem for me. She's the one closest and she wears her mask except to drink, cough and yell at her friend across from me. I tried the other side of the bar by the server's station. An EXTREMELY loud and unmasked man sat several seats away. I ignored him. Then he moved to the machine closest to me. I told the bartender that masks were mandatory. That I would let it go where he had been sitting, but now he was to close. The bartender tried to get him to wear it, but the guy loudly and disparagingly refused. They were inches apart and the guy was yelling in his face. His tone wasn't even hostile. He was loud, proud, and unmasked . Deal with it world! Another bartender also tried and failed. This was the only time I saw a Vue bartender try to get someone to wear a mask. They normally just serve and converse regardless. This guy eventually left. I had donned my n95 mask. When that guy left, he was soon replaced by another loud, talkative, and unmasked man who was at least less obnoxious.

Downstairs I got my $100 coupon FP and decided to use $150 MP's betting black at $25 a spin. I won half for a $75 win and tipped the friendly sinner $5.

I checked in to my GG room. It was vacant but not clean yet. I ate a ham and cheddar omelet at Magnolia's and went back to my D room.

Normally the walk to GG would be a few minute stroll. Not now. There are metal detectors to enter Fremont and backpacks are not allowed. My detour took me south of GN. It didn't occur to me how big this property was. It was really hot and I tweaked my knee again on the way. It seemed to take for ever. I felt like crap and my room still wasn't ready. They took my number and I went to the bar to drink a Founder's Breakfast Stout and turn $100 FP into $67.50. I moved to the 8/5 BP progressives at 12:55 pm. I lost my FP winnings at 1:13 and another $80 at 1:30. It's hot in the room, I felt bad, and the gambling sucked so I checked on my room She said she called 1/2 hour ago, but my phone doesn't show it. I don't like the way they sit up the room, but roll with it and go for a nap.

I now have $250 FP at the D and go back to Bar Canada to play it on 7/5 ACES. I had a couple more La Fin De Mondes and converted to $270. I had a bunch more MP's that I had been accumulating. The wheel had already spun red 5 times. Most of the other spins were red as well. I bet black 13 times at $25 per spin. The results were R,R,B,R,R,B,R,B,R,B,R,R,and 0. While I was in a little shock, I think that I recorded it right. Combined with this morning's MP winnings, I was still up $50.

I think the casinos are closing again so I am cashing out points that have accumulated. The D says that I can't cash them out, but I can paly them, but only up to $100 a day. It's a start. I go back to Canada Bar and order another beer. My points won't load. I try the Vue Bar and ask for a slot attendant. She showed me machines that may take it. They don't. I ask for a slot supervisor. The same person comes who is not a supervisor I ask about the Long Bar and she says it does not take points. a supervisor comes and he just knows than somewhere, something takes points and sends me back to the players club. That person thinks that I should ask slot attendants. I talk to her manager who suggests the Long Bar. Points do load at the Long Bar after all. My $100 in points became $81.25 in cash. Till next time around D.

I'm back at GG, fried, but intending to play. I started 8/5 .25c BP at 7:10 pm. I hit J's for $32.81 at 7:12, 8's for $39.16 at 7:52, and quit at 8:15 down $50. My heart wasn't in it. I headed upstairs an fell asleep early.

Ohhhhhh I didn't think of the whole metal detector / backpack thing. So if I am staying at Fremont (and I am) and I got off a bus by Walgreens, I would have to walk all the way around to Ogden to avoid walking on Fremont if I had my suitcase and backpack? If so, I'll get off at Carson. It would be easier to pick up room stuff at Walgreens that I could shove in my bag, but not if it means walking allllllllllll the way around.

I did not have any problems moving between Golden Gate and the D. When I got to the Casino Center intersection, security let me go through the gates rather than the metal detector. YMMV

Fair warning, the last I heard, WAX was not running. Not sure if there was another route you planned to take to Walgreens.

I was planning to take any bus that came at the airport and transferring to the Deuce to get off at Walgreens.

We thought binions backdoor was an easy way to get in, but this is coming from the California...

Hope you get a little better experience at GG- I warned you about D, didn't I?

also, when we were there last week, midweek at late hours, those stations were unmanned..
I checked out the display and they were just counting people in/out, I assume same with turnstiles,
it has been reported, and I believe correctly, that metal detector option on those gates are not on.

I would imagine/hope, that if you were staying at a hotel in there, you might be able to ask them to let you through with a backpack... Wasn't, and didn't try so thats just a wild ass guess.

Your tale of trying to get your point/play loaded at the D sounds like my run around when they combined cards. I can't tell you how many staff I interacted with to get my much higher assigned play from the D. They kept reverting to my GG account, and I had little history there. Still gets my BP up just remembering!
Good luck today......good for you trying to stay safe!

You mentioned you thought that they might be re-closing the casinos. Why do you think this?

Here is a slightly different option, that will avoid baggage and security posts. The Deuce stops behind the Four Queens parking garage. Get off there, across the street and through 4Q. Across to the Fremont. No detectors. All you have is what you buy at Walgreens. Less chance of problems.

Very late to the party here but wow, what an amazingly informative post. Thanks so much for the details and congrats on scoring first class. I'm catching up on the last week and will be following in real time until you are back in Alaska!

Yep, this is where I usually get off throughout the stay. I just stay on until Walgreens when I first arrive so I can shove my purchases in my bag and wheel them to my hotel.

Be careful with them La Fin du Monde. At 9% if you have too many in the afternoon you will go to bed early. Good to see they have these at Bar Canada, they turn up at some strange places - I am sure I have had these at EPCOT in Disneyworld.
