@serenasea - my mom is house sitting and watching the kitties while I'm gone. They get spoiled and they love her

 

Scarpetta Tomato Basil Spaghetti, yum. Lunch at Top of the World at Stratosphere ; they have a good lunch special. Charlie Palmer’s is still closed and so is Mabel’s BBQ.

 

I voted Italian. Carbone might just be my favorite restaurant in the city. Order some off the menu meatballs, let them know it’s your birthday and celebrate with a free bottle of limoncello after dinner.

It looks like it will be open when you’re there, Wed-Sun nights right now.

Oh, I'm also interested in how many cops you see on the way there, I'm starting to feel there is something to that "month end quota" thing, so if you see few, that would be one data point...
We drove back on sat 6/27, and felt like we saw more than ever on the drive back, kept talking about what a bummer that would be to catch a ticket.

oh and last thing, this was strange, first time ever, the CA agricultural inspection point was actually stopping people and having them pop their trunks, as we drove on, we could only guess they were looking for loads of fireworks (?), but when we hit the gas station in Baker, our trunk had not been slammed shut completely, and was bobbing around, open!! Inspection lady didn't close it right! what if we had just piles of loose cash in there! fortunately, everything seemed to be in place.

 

Love your kitties! I swear you can see their personalities in pics. I also like your cat condo. I always thought those looked classy. Mine prefer the heavily carpeted ones that gather fur that gets imbedded forever. Yuck.

A new apt is always so fun! Just remember when you are tired and depressed when vacation is over to drive back to the correct place.

Don’t you always “get lucky” when you are with mcann? Hope you win the 3k and more!

I am on a low cholesterol diet so cheese is rare, except when I’m in Vegas. Show me the cheese!

I voted Italian! I loved Carbone! If that's not an option, I've wanted to try Scarpetta but haven't had the chance yet. If wine had been on the poll I would have definitely picked that one!

Ha. @bigvegasdaddy I laughed at Nobu and their fuckin prices. Let me be clear - I am not a fan of seafood, but I will pay for quality cut of fish as I would any quality meat - but Nobu? Ha. Plus I think there's a location out here in LA so I can wait on that

 

Totally agree on this Italian choice. Carbone is amazing! Totally can’t go wrong there.

I picked "Baazar Meat" as it's uniquely Vegas, but I really wanted to pick cheese, or all of the above! Looking forward to the report

 

For the record, I picked beer because restaurants are crazy with their hours right now. Bazaar Meat has always intrigued me though!

 

@Robin W and @carolineno I've spoke highly of Bazaar Meat here before and love it! We'll try to make it there, we've got reservations

My mother should be here around noon, then I'm hitting the road!!!
