Something most any LV traveler looks forward to is the food choices. Whether you're digging for coupons or digging out the Amex Platinum, you can find something to enjoy. I thought it would be fun to remember old favorites no longer around. I'll start with a few and add to it as I read other posts.
    Sam's Town : Papamios
In the mid 90s, Sam's was our group's home base usually. Billy Bob's was good, but my favorite there was Papamios. Sure, the food was basically cookie cutter Italian, but the service was always good. the best part I thought was the "patio" dining.I always felt relaxed and enjoyed every meal (which was many) I had the
    Gold Coast : Cortez Room
Dollar for dollar, one of the best red meat values in town. Our first visit, four of us were seated by hostess and greeted by our server wearing tux shirt and tie with long white apron. The special was prime rib, which we all ordered. At $5.95, (this was 95 or 96) we didn't expect the world. First the server tossed our salads tableside. Next she brought entrees, which included nice veg and baker with all the fixins. Prime rib was great and she walked away with a pretty nice tip.
    Silverton : Twin Creeks
I know I said past and I meant it. TCs today gives you a formal feel with all the dark wood and mood lighting. TCs of yesteryear was light and airy. It had a far more casual feel to it. This was long ago, but even so, it was a great value. Steaks were good with moderate pricing and the service was excellent.
    That's my first round.

I've killed too many brain cells to remember names, but the Mexican restaurant in the back of Stardust. Great food and terrific atmosphere. The Mexican restaurant upstairs from Silver City. Also great food and one of the best home made salsas I've ever had.

Thanks for the memories...I loved Mikado and Carnevino. Buccaneer Bay Club was also an underrated favorite.

Renoir at Mirage was very much under the radar, didn’t get much attention, but was exceptional in every way and a real treat for fans of Alex Stratta’s haute cuisine.

I miss Carnevino. I haven’t really found a go to steakhouse since Batali was outed as a scumbag and they closed the place.

The Tillerman, loved that lazy-Susan set up for the salad and the chilled fork.

I'll second Roberta'/Flame at the El Cortez. We celebrated quite a few special events there.

    Ye Old Lobster House.
It was on the strip about where the Walgreens is by the Venetian.
Still some 20 years later, the best meal I have ever had!

I've had many a steak at Billiy Bob's. On our golf trips, we always did BBs at least once. I can't recall a hint of a bad meal there, but nothing ever stood out about it for me. I remember seeing a salad of their's the first time and commenting how they served family style! Same with bakers and sweet potatoes, giant. I bet a lot of people miss it.
