Question I’ve never actually been in Chicago Brewing. It’s supposed to be a cigar bar right? Do you see a lot of cigar smokers? Do they have it setup so that cigar smokers don’t bother people eating?

As always I love your reports. That being said wearing a mask in Vegas doesn’t seem like much fun. I like to have a drink smoke a cigar or cigarettes. Doesn’t seem practical to do so currently.

enjoying your report... not surprised that people are careless with the masks - it shows selfishness but seriously they just don't think the virus is going to get them or that it is as bad as it is...I respect people who don't want to go until masks are no longer required .. we all want to go back to normal - will that ever happen? Hoping you have a winning trip.

They have a non smoking section table seating. Playing at the bar, there are often cigar smokers. I haven't seen any this trip, but I usually do. I'm not a smoker. What I have seen this trip is that many smokers drop their mask, power smoke through a cigarette, and then put their mask back on. Others just smoke like they used to. Nobody seems to be redonning masks between puffs.
The style "wearing" of masks vary. Most wear them as intended, but many are just trying to check a box.
As for drinking. I just pull my mast down each time. It probably leads to less consumption, but that probably isn't a bad thing. It is definitely less fun than normal, but more fun than a closed casino, at least for me.

There is no coffee pods for the coffee maker. Usually, when I have a suite here, I switch on the news and drink a couple cups. This morning I headed back to the closed Mike's bar. The side I wanted was full, but everything else was wide open.

I started playing .50c 10/6 DDB at 8:40 am and ordered my first Baily's and coffee. I lost $100 FP at 8:48 and my last $50 of FP at 8:57. The machine was holding around 30%. I put in $100. I hit 5's at 9:04. People had been coming and going, but a woman settled in kitty corner of me and started blowing her smoke in my general direction. By then my preferred machine was open, so I moved. I lost my first hundred at 9:19, another at 9:28, and a third at 9:40. I hit 6's for a brief reprieve at 9:52 and then lost my hundred at 10:03, another at 10:18, again at 10:25, 10:38, and again at 10:47. In 1 1/2 hours, I had blown through close to a $900 dollars on this machine. I only had last night's $600 TITO left and didn't want to put it in the machie. Time for a break.

I cashed the Tito and checked out Chicago Brewing. Even though it was closed and not slated to open for another 1/2 hour, 4 people were playing all available machines. I had wanted to play there, but went back to my social distancing machine that just ate $900.

I lost more hundreds at 11:08, 11:17, 11:23 and 11:49. I was losing $100 every 10 minutes, and beginning to think that the machine didn't like me. I ordered another Baily's and coffee. I hit J's at 11:49 and 2's with a kicker for $400 at 12:12. The Tito shrunk to $500 and I exchanged it for a new $100 at 12:18. I hit K's at 12:25, 3's at 12:27, and drew 2 to a club SF at 12:35. The SF payout is shorted in this game at 200 credits, but the extra hundred was welcome. Things had been looking up, but I lost the last of that money at 1:13, and then lost another $100 at 1:24. All I had left was my $500 TITO and I decided to take a break. The Chicago Brewing bar was still full so I headed up to my room for a while. I've only run a bit under $6,000 through. Hopefully Aces will start crowding my screen soon. I'm currently down $500 from my bankroll and have burned through $450 in FP. I'm not even half way to maxing out the promotion.

I don't have your experience with knee problems. Stairs have been my nemesis. I get more mobile, then take stairs, then something pulls and I'm back to hobbling. It's been over a week since the last time, and it's feeling much better. After an MRI, someone listed all the things wrong with it over the phone, but I didn't know what any of it meant. I'll see my doctor about it when I get back. I don't envy anyone with chronic knee problems. It sounds like what I complain about might be your normal.

It is and I'm only 33 lol but frankly, with everything going on these days, I consider myself lucky. My wife laughs at me when I can barely get out of bed during inclement weather, however, someone always has it worse than me which lends perspective in the grand scheme of things.

Hope you've having a good time over there!

Oh man that’s a brutal session. Don’t think I could stomach that DDB variance.

Don’t worry I know you, you’ll turn it around, look forward to the trip report run good.

    Good luck!

    6/28 continued

I finally found a seat at Chicago Brewing at 5:00 pm. It turned out the same 4 folks were on the machines this morning, but they are leaving tomorrow. There were open machines most of the time I was there.. I was there past their 11:00 closing drinking beer, and eating pizza and calamari. My doctor wants me to eat healthier, so I ordered a chicken pizza. I realize that some of you my not consider chicken pizza a health food, but feel free to mind your own damn business. I was one of the few people wearing masks today. Apparently CB is an oasis for mask haters in the casino. I rolled with it until someone sat right next to me at a shut off machine and started ordering. He put on his mask after I complained and moved but felt the need to be condescending about it. My initial response was to ask if I'm the asshole here and it started to deteriorate from there. He was friendly with the waitress and she took his side. I think it became clear that I was a dog with a bone on the issue. Neither seemed to want to set off the crazy old guy again. She removed the chair. There were a number of unmasked patrons, but he was the only one who got close enough to bother me. I tried "healthy pizza, but am going to switch back to the Windy City or Meat Lovers. I've never been to Chicago and thought they just did deep dish. Turns out they also do good thin crust with square cuts.

I was quite hopeful for a comeback. Being hopeful and several dollars could have gotten me a Starbucks coffee. So I dealt my first hand of .50c 10/6 DDB at 5:00. I lost my first hundred at 5:26, 2nd at 5:46, third at 5:55 and 4th at 6:09. So my $400 lasted a little over an hour. I put my last $100 in. I hit j's at 6:15, 2's with a kicker at 6:40, and 2's at 6:45. I had 1060 credits. I cashed out when it dropped to $400. I lost the new hundred at 7:06. That was the beginning of the burning hundred dollar bills festival. I lost additional hundreds at 7:24, 7:42, 7:56, 8:08, 8:31, and 8:50. I considered the course I was on and decided to fuck it and play on. I hit 9's at 8:58, 10's at 9:15, Q's at 9:19, 4's at 9:41, J's at 9:51, and 3's with a kicker at 10:36. I cashed a $500 TITO. At 10:45, I was dealt 2's with an ace kicker.. It felt great. I hit 4's at 11:04. It was past closing time so I moved to the deserted Mikes' (Palace) bar. I hit 10,s at 12:05 and K's at 12:05. I lost the hundred at 12:30 and decided to call it a night. While the comeback is far from complete, I'm now just down $500 plus the $450 FP I burned through. It's not great, but it's better than what it was. I have about 850 points ($6,800 coin in) left to do on the promotion tomorrow.

Hope all the other VMBers left you a few royals laying around, maybe you can do one of those one card hold pulls. ;)
are you saying you'll have maxed it already?

and just a thought, maybe you need to break the juju and have a stone delicious at GG, get into that double FP, or pop into the D for a bit, other than my epic camping all day at 4Q, we were mostly hitting and running a bunch of spots w. decent results.

thinking positive variance and royal thoughts for you. :peace::popcorn:

Sorry to hear about the inconsiderate people. Talking across you to another person is actually far ruder than not wearing a mask. Actually, the persona of the crazy old man ("get off my lawn!") isn't too bad in an era of social distancing. Makes people give you a wide berth, albeit can kill your buzz. I fear I just would be considered the "a_____ hole" and asked to take it outside. I don't see you mentioning playing at Kings Bar, I thought it had good VP there as well. Is there a reason you don't play there?

PS I sent you a private message on the board.

    Hope you run better!

And that CBC story is disappointing, but not too shocking. Tiny place, people smoke cigars and eat in there. Bleh.

The origin of the phrase “You kids get off my lawn!” is very fascinating actually: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_kids_get_off_my_lawn!

    6:29, Monday at 4Q's

It's been a rather long day, so I'm looking forward to responding to many of you, but it will need to wait a bit.

Binion's has the same promotion that 4Q's has. I decided to run a bunch of coin in on a single day. I think that a couple big single day plays will get me from $20 FP and room rates to their maximum offer. I still had 850 points to get a 4Q's and had a Hugo's reservation and was looking for a shortcut. I tried virtual table games thinking that the FP would offset my losses. This turned out not to be true. I made 2,500 points, but lost $500 doing so. It was quiet at the bar in the morning, but was taken over by the maskless around 4:00. It was the same deal as Chicago brewing, but this time everybody but me was involved and they were more boisterous. . I would have been crazy to stay and I moved to .50c 8/5 BP for another 1,500 points. I was on a time crunch, so I just payed like a normal person without taking notes. I hit a few quads and even a SF, but still lost another $400. Binion's computer system was down, so I will have to go back tomorrow.

I found a machine at Chicago Brewing and ordered a dinner IPA. I played .25c DDB. The progressives were really good. I kept on playing till my $100 was gone. I was 15 minutes late to dinner. Never hit a quad. This was breakfast and I was only slightly hungry. No @FABismonte , I did not drink my breakfast. Before my dinner beer, I'd only consumed a couple Baily's and coffees. I ordered lobster. It was like $125. I've never eaten a meal that costs that much. I don't eat lobster often, but I love it. I even loved the lobster in the steak and lobster special at that chain restaurant in Fremont. My meal included 2 tails. I ate most of one and part of the other. I expected sweet succulence, but I got bland chewy. I still like Hugo's and the meal was free. I'll just avoid the lobster. I ordered a chocolate mouse cake and it was excellent. I tried to check into the D, but the line was too long.

Back at 4Q's, I had thought about playing higher stakes JOB, but decided to stick to .50c 10/6 DDB. A started my final push at 10:15 in my Mike's Bar socially distanced machine at an almost empty bar.. The middle button stuck badly and a couple of maskless sat down next to me to engage in animated discussion. I moved to the other side on a corner. People seemed attracted to me and there were soon people sitting around me off and on some with, but mostly W/O masks. I personally don't understand why a person who isn't wearing their mask approaches someone who is for directions of favors, but that happened. People were mostly using the bar for a hangout. For a while I was wearing my n95 mask, until people moved on.

So the gambling. I was going to stay at .50c as long as I could and only switch to dollars if I was short of time. My offers are great know, and it is possible that I might be able to keep them with 4,000 points over a 3 day stay. I hit 3's at 10:38, 4's at 10:48, Q's at 10:53, dealt J's at 11:07, got 9's at 11:26, 2's at 12:06, and 3's at 12:25. At that point I had close to $700 in the machine. After I hit 8's at 12:49 this was down to $550. Even at .50c this game is volatile. I did the math and realized that to finish by 2 am, I'd have to switch to dollars. I could have taken my $500 and gone to JOB, but I didn't. I hadn't seen a kicker all day, and haven't seen aces this trip. Even though my head knew better, my heart felt I was due, I lost all my credits at 1:37. My next hundred was evaporating until I hit Q's. I had made my points and cashed out my Tito when it dropped to $200. I quit at 1:44 pm with a whole 15 minutes to spare.

For those of you read my last TR, you may remember that I was hemorrhaging money at the beginning of the trip too.

I move to the D Tomorrow for a single night. If you're around, I'm the guy with the notebook.

You better greatly reduce your expectations for better mask usage at the D, just saying, IMO.
maybe you can elaborate on the best freestanding machines that you can take an open side and free right space on...

(you ever listen to music on a device while playing?)

(I bet you could calc how much the bonus offer took off that bad starting run, and we are all awaiting the comeback..)
