I find it annoying that the D provides so little information about its tournaments that other casinos routinely provide on their mailers and web sites. No information on how many places pay out, when is registration, or info about meals like the one provided here.

Hopefully he went on one of his boondoggles in the middle of nowhere and brings back some good stories for us.

    Stay safe!

Yes, I also corresponded him via the Inbox. Glad to see he's 'around'. I hope to visit with him in Alaska next year.

Sorry folks. It was rude to just stop posting. I had been making a post a day on this TR and one about an Alaska story. Then one morning I didn't. So now it's late June and I'll be back in Vegas this Saturday. It's a shorter 11 day trip to capitalize on QQQQ's, D, and GG offers. Since I'm finally back in Vegas mode, I'll finish this up for the few of you who may still be interested and were left hanging.

3/1 Sunday at 4Q's;last 3 days of the trip.

It was moving day. This was during the QQQQ's IT meltdown and early check in was completely out of the question. I hit JOB in front of the cage to start my day. I had $400 of FP, but it wasn't showing. Points were tracking though and I put in a hundred. I hit 2's at 10:09. Chicago brewing would open in 20 minutes. I was losing money and ready to move when I noticed an influx of machine attendants. The machines had stopped giving TITO's and everything was now by handpay. I decided to play out my hundred into a decent win or zero. Zero arrived at 10:44. I moved to Chicago Brewing, ordered a huge coffee and Bailey's, put in another $100, and started on .25c 9/6 DDB with the 4 OAK progressives. At 11:31, I hit kings for $64.50. I was able to cash out 11:45 down another $50.

I checked out of the D. 4Q's still wasn't checking people in, so I took my day pack and left my luggage. I went back to Chicago Brewing, It was pizza and beer time. They still had their Belgian triple, so I started with that. I found a machine towards the end of the bar, slung my pack over the back of my chair, and resumed quarter play at 12:40 PM. I hit 9's for $62.50 at 12:43, 4"s for $110 at 1:10, and lost my $50 at 1:44 PM. I'm down $200 today.

For context. I've been losing most of this trip, but a couple of timely Royals, decent return on progressives, and my FP offers have finally got me above even. After 3 weeks of this, being $200 down feels like warming up. In addition, 4 Q's computer system has crashed, been fixed, and crashed again this morning. I have to give my name to the player's desk, which while basically closed, does have a single working computer with which they can manually enter FP. Sometimes the restaurants are cash only. I caught a window where they could use comped dollars and ordered my pizza.

The quarter progressives are played out, so I switch to .50c 10/6 DDB at 3:38. I frequently win or lose $500 or more in an hour playing this, so I'm always a bit anxious and excited when I start. I lost $50 at 4:05, $100 at 4:27, and another $50 at 4:39. I was fine just losing $200 in an hour, but was hoping for some hands soon. At 4:48, I held an ace and drew 3 more. I got aces again at 5:26. I hit 4's at 6:32 and 3's with a kicker at 7:35. I was dealt 5's at 8:13 and drew 9's at 9:17. I hit aces again at 9:40, and quit at 9:55pm up $240. I had played around $12,000 coin in for the day.

I was able to get a late seating at Andiano's at the D. I had a ton of food comps for 3 days and decided to use my D and GG comp for my first meal there. The place sounds mostly Italian, but the menu screamed high end steak house and the steak was great. I remembered towards the end of my meal, that I had forgotten my bag left draped over my bar stool. I quickly paid and raced back to get it. The bar was packed and the bag was still there. I thanked the guy in my former seat for guarding it. I'm sure he was laughing with me.

I finally checked in. I got a suite as reserved by my kind host. Most of you suite dwellers would laugh at the dsignation, but I find it very pleasant and comfortable.

    Two more days.

Welcome back  Eh, life happens :) Best of luck for your upcoming “quickie” (I have a equal-length trip at the end of July into early August, which will be my longest Vegas trip by a decent margin)

Thanks. Summer is not my favorite time in Vegas, The Summer offers from D, GG, 4Q's and Binion's were enticing though. The mask rule makes me more comfortable making the trip. I'm guessing we'll be playing some of the same games and places, so let me know if you need something checked out.

Glad to see you're finishing the earlier one, and back soon to Vegas, @wasilla. I'll be in Alaska in early June next year. Maybe we can grab a beer.

So you moved your trip back a year? We do have beer here. There are over half dozen breweries and brewpubs in the Wasilla area alone. There is a couple more places further north in Talketna (the town Northern Exposure was based on) and another place just outside Denali park. You should consider a chauffer. There are way fewer tourists this year, a good year for Alaskans to tour Alaska.
I'm normally in Vegas in late May and early June taking advantage of 4Q promotions. It's usually a great time to be in Alaska and would love to grab a beer if we're ever in the same place.

@wasilla great to have you back. A lot of posters don’t finish their trips after such a hiatus so I appreciate it.

I agree. The wife and I were on the fence about this upcoming trip but will be checking in at 4Q's on Saturday then moving to the D later. If you see a guy getting multiple $2,000 hand pays at JOB, that will probably be me.
