As long as they don't drink my martini, or steal my scooter, I don't mind them :p

Will definitely try a few nights at Circa, so I can explore how downtown has developed over the last few years since I was on Fremont, and see if I notice any difference when a resort is exlusively 21+.

It will be interesting to see if the 21+ to stay policy continues. Even Steve Wynn couldn't maintain some of the "no kids" policies in his properties, though downtown is much smaller. FSE is posting a 21 and over policy, it seems to only apply to unaccompanied minors, since I've see adults with kids enter from the webcam.

Honestly, I'm not against a no kids policy on Fremont, since I have seen and done some crazy things over the years.

Seeing as our summer trip may not happen I’m thinking of heading out to Vegas for this Oct 28 opening... should be pretty cool!

In my not so humble opinion, they just tried to dance around the topic instead of stating "adults only" right up front. Things like no strollers, actively enforcing the "kids must keep moving" in the casino and such. Parents did not get the hint.

I'm assuming that Darek and team did their homework in the form of some market research and determined it was in their intere$t to try a true adults only policy.

I'm there. Haven't been on a guys gambling trip since late 2018 (my wife and I spent a night at Encore this past December) and I had the opening of Circa planned for my next trip. Was psyched last week when the announcement was made and immediately started making plans.

Yeah it's high dollar. Feb. weekdays are $159 and weekends $249. I think The D will be just fine by me, no way I'd pay those prices when I get free rooms almost everywhere downtown.

I agree. was hoping to check it early but I will wait until it is comped and enjoy the casino and pool until then. If my host surprises me with a comped room then I will take it. It's hard to turn down free.

Have never stayed downtown. Might try consider trying Circa if they were to come out with some offer matching like Cosmo.

Will be interesting since they are new, but also opening in unusual times. Great idea to get it open and money flowing sooner.

Guess I'll just stick with the Spa Suite at NYNY for December, as 28th-31st was $440 a night :p

I am sure they will be recruiting some hosts from the strip.
I get free rooms at the D and GG.
I am not a high rolling whale but I have donated plenty there.

Hopefully someday they will offer me a comped room at the Circa.

I'm also happy to see the 21+ policy. I have two kids and love family vacations, but for me personally, I'm not into taking kids who aren't of drinking/gambling age to Las Vegas. I understand many parents and families enjoy it or live in the city - and that's all great, no judgement here - I do like the idea of having some locations that are kid-free in the main tourist areas of the city (i.e. Strip and Downtown).

anyone surprised at room rates? they seemed to fall more or less where I thought they would, but maybe a little bit higher, 10%ish.

Not really surprised. There is not much precident for a resort like this downtown. Once they are open for a bit the rates will adjust higher or lower depending on how demand pans out.

I'll be there hopefully next May or June.

The sports book will hopefully be competitive to other books. Hate the comparison thing between books but downtown is small so it’s easier than the strip obviously.
Rooms are out of our price range. But so are most rooms. We haven’t actually paid for a room since 2000 or so but certainly can’t see a 299 $ King room in our future. And with taxes and fees (you know!!), probably closer to 350... Our only hope is they noticed us on the cam at the Derby, yelling at plastic horses
also, this may have been discussed before, there is what appeared to be an escalator on Binion’s side going up to the 3rd or 4th floor. Anyone know if that is up to the pool deck or to the second level of gambling? The building does look unique for sure.

I emailed my host with some questions about the Circa opening. I learned that if you currently have a host with GG or The D, the same person will host you for Circa.

Right now my host says that they have not been told they can comp rooms at Circa yet. Still to early for that. She says to wait to confirm if she can comp them for me as we get closer to opening day Oct 28.

I agree with this completely! Aside from Golden Nugget, I don’t really see Circa impacting any other casinos downtown. The demographic they’re going for is pretty narrow.
