It’s called Dream Catcher, it’s Indian themed but has some similarities to Pompei with 3x 5x during bonus along with birds that pop out for a minor bonus usually 30.00 buck and the major which starts at 1000.00. Fun game and max is anywhere from 1.25 or 2.50. I think she’s won more majors on .75 then any other denomination. Or local removed the three we had about 18 months ago, so now whenever we travel she’s like a dawg sniffing it down.

Sorry for the radio silence once again. Sitting here at LAS for the flight home. I'll wrap it up once I get home. Got a busy couple days ahead, so bear with me. Ya know, all that stuff that happens after being gone from home for a week

Ok, let's try and wrap this up... A few pics from the Orleans doing what I do best...low-rolling. I love these old games and like to alternate my bets on ALL machines depending on how the machine is playing along. As mentioned, I bet anywhere between 2x and max bet. Most of my hits end up being on somwhate of a lower bet...go figure!!!! My bonuses on the larger gets were usually not even worthy of a picture. 0620201547.jpg 0620201531.jpg 0621201634.jpg 0620201547.jpg 0620201531.jpg 0621201634.jpg

Ooops, managed to get a couple of doubles. When at Orleans I ate at Bailiwick 3x. It was once of the few places that have a casual atmosphere and also serve alcohol. First night I had a burger and fries and took back to my room. Had a couple of tap beers while waiting for my food. Burger was just meh... Next night I had the buffalo chicken sliders with their fruity coleslaw. I'll say, this was pretty good. Both of these I forgot to take a pic before diving right in...PIG!!!! Last night I had their Meatlovers Italiano pizza. This was very good. Most of the food was more than enough for one meal so I would eat and take the leftovers back to my room leftover breakfast. 0621201737.jpg

I'll be honest and say, this certainly was a different trip. First of all, was the maintenance issues. I mean, I usually never have issues, but this time was different. At the D, the toilet 'struggled' to flush properly and by the 2nd day was not flushing at all. Can't have that be the case .....what if I needed to ....!!!! A quick call and a maintenance person was in my room within 15 minutes.

The 2nd round of maintenance came while at the Orleans. First day, the safe was locked. So, I called down and a person was up in about 15 minutes....ALONE. I always thought they came in pairs when they opened the safe?? Nothing in there, but I do use the safe.
That night I noticed the sink was slow-draining. So the next morning, got up and went for a walk pounding the pavement by walking the parking lots. Came back and the sink STILL had water in it. Called down to desk at about 7:45. Nothing!! Called back down at 9:15. Nothing!! At 10:15 I called AGAIN and she said she'd expedite to a supervisor. About 20 minutes later, someone shows up and gets sink opened up. Crazy!!! I didn't think I was being impatient, but I thought I waited a good portion. I was essentially wasting time, sitting in my room waiting for them to show up.

I did mention at checkout about the waits. She took off one of my Bailiwick dinners as well as pool charges.

Oops, sorry I didn't finish. But when the outlaws call and there's beer and grilling involved, some things just seem to get pushed aside....lol. My apologies...kind of. So, I will leave you with a pic tonight and hopefully finish up tomorrow. Again, got a few things on the calendar that could push this out even further.

With that said. NEVER believe what the bottle says. So here I thought this was going to be a little mouthwash before going out one night in LV. Put my lips on the bottle only to find out that it was DH'S BODY WASH. Yep......not a fan of the flavor...:p. So, obviously, it was not used in a while and was his way of throwing his humor at me once again. (happened when in LV too, but I don't remember the exact instance).

So, I guess from now on, if I am going to 're-use' a bottle, it should not be with something that matched the original contents. ;)

Have a comp at the Orleans, can you tell me about the crowds, mask wearing ,pool and cleanliness? Also read Big Al's was open for takeout only, is that true? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I was on a comp. When I first arrived I saw about mask usage at around 50%. When I finally donned mine and went downstairs compliance was around 25-30%. I first felt guilty for not wearing one, so I eventually just resorted to wearing one for the rest of my trip.

Housekeeping was not available, but I was told at check-in that they would knock and see if anything was needed. I never got a knock. That's fine. I re-use my towels anyway to save on the desert's most valuable resource......water!!! I am capable of making my own bed. I actually prefer not to have housekeeping anyway.

TBH, I didn't find an overly abundant amount of cleaning within the casino itself. They way it was all being marketed was that they have increased the amount of cleaning. I thought that in itself would be quite noticeable. I brought my own wipes and cut them into smaller sizes and pre-packaged them for use before touching any machines. (see pic)

Big Al's was NOT open at all...not even for takeout. That was a bummer as I eat there at least once every trip.

Pool was open, however Shake Shack was not. It wasn't completely packed and I had no problems finding a lounger. The bar area was always pretty slow.

I'll post my 'final' follow up hopefully tomorrow. Another busy day again today. Whew...it's tiring to be retired and have to take vacations....LOL o_O:D

Thanks again for the update, as an old geezer I'm concerned about those not wearing masks, just heard the new mandatory mandate from the Governor so I think I'll book, again thank you

Ok, the final wrap and my thoughts. Sorry, if some of this is a repeat of earlier posts....I didn't want to re-read...lol. Since I cut my last trip (March) short, I was really jonesing to get back to Vegas. AND, the price of flights were cheap. I wore a mask on both flights. On both fights, they provided service once, as opposed to twice as usual. Also, the in-flight magazines have been removed from the pockets. Instead, they announce what the food & beverage options are.

Once I got to LV ( as well as the ride back) I did not find that it took any longer to get an Uber/Lyft. I always have trouble getting a connection on my phone at The Orleans so I cabbed it back to the airport. Flat rate from Orleans to LAS was $23.

First hotel was the D. I spent 4 nights here, 2 of which were on a comp. Few people wearing masks there or on Fremont. As much as I wanted to be in LV, I really found it hard to enjoy myself, especially DT. In the back of my mind, I was re-living the initial "WTF" moments I had on the last trip. For me, this change, with the virus and new protocols in place just took some of the 'fun' out of being there in the first place. In my mind, I'm thinking 'This is not the Vegas I know, or love'. I kind of had a hard time getting myself to relax (understandable) and enjoy myself. I had mostly 'early' nights, and by early, I think I was out til midnight only one night. That also means, I drank less, with the exception of one night. Again, I was thinking "should I have waited until things were better? Did I come too early? Was this the 'right' time?" I certainly questioned my judgement for the first half of this trip.

My 2nd hotel was at The Orleans. As mentioned initially, mask usage was higher here. I eventually just resorted to wearing the mask, which I think actually put me more at ease. Here I was at the pool every day. I found it very relaxing to hang out in the warm weather. Distancing was pretty good at the pool with the exception of the last day when I had my lounger in one of the shady, fake-grass areas. I think they had about 8 loungers with two front/two back and then a divide and 2 more front/2 back. So, I've having myself a nice relaxing time and these frickin people hoard in on 'my' place for the 2 loungers behind me. And, I'm not talking just 2 or 3 people NOOOOO, I'm talking like mom, dad, maybe a SIL/BIL and about 3 kids. Then they have maybe an aunt/uncle visit. CRIPES....get the H out of my space!!!!!! Good thing this was after about a few hours so I finally left.

While at the Orleans I began to feel more comfortable about just being in LV. I actually enjoyed being in Vegas as well as my stay. No second-guessing my decision at all. :D. Big Al's, the Buffet, Fuddruckers...all closed, even though on their handout in the room was Fuddruckers will be open on XX/ date. Nope, didn't happen. The jewelry place in the hallway towards the hotel was also closed. Never bought any of that pretty stuff, but just an FYI for those of you who do.

Am I glad I went?? Well, at first I questioned myself if I had made the right decision. After the move to my 2nd hotel, things felt 'better' for me. I was glad I went when I did, which was before mandatory mask usage. Also, I wanted to go sooner after they opened up in case the place shuts down again. When in Vegas, I always listen to the local news. DAILY, there were reports of specific restaurants that had been just shut down due to employees testing positive for COVID. This thing is relentless folks, and I think it is coming on stronger and wider than before....just my opinion. I think that if YOU are questioning and have health risks, I'm not so sure going to LV is a good idea.....again, just my opinion. Your choice.

Trip 26 is now in the books. Again, I'm kind of glad I went when I did. I'd like to go again and thinking maybe end of September or beginning of October. We'll wait this thing out for a while and see. (maybe... ). If not then, then I will be back in December to celebrate my birthday.

Proof that I didn't drink all my money away. I think I had 42 of these when I went to LV. I'll leave them in my 'travel' purse for next time. 0621202020.jpg
