Where is the largest Prime Rib you have ever seen or ate? It was long ago at Binions they brought me out a chunk at closing time that was unbelievable and I sure would like to give a large cut another try our next trip :feedme:

Lawry's "bone in, beef bowl" is 44oz; supposedly if you finish it they'll give you a free second helping for a total of 88oz. If you want al la carte, that's $66, with sides $75. Binions largest offering on the menu is "only" 24oz.

Wow. That's a lot of meat! You can make 5- 10oz cuts with that chunk.

A 10 oz cut with starch and veggies would fill me up. But I'm a light weight. If I was 30 years younger I guarantee I would try this $55 cut.

It's what I call the Cardiologist Nightmare cut at Jerry's Nugget. I've seen it being served, nobody in any party I dined with ever dared try it. I swear it was 6" high off the plate, really. The server said that yes, some of the regulars will devour it in one sitting.

My brother had what they call the "medium" cut, which was a good 3" high at least.

I always have what they call the "English Cut", the smallest cut, which is like a very ample regular portion that you get most places. This is a single "steak" type cut. I always think of English Cut as several thinner slices of prime rib, like they do at Lawry's and other places, but the smallest regular cut is what they call English Cut.

Does stacking pieces of prime rib from the buffet on top of each other count?

Do they still have that monstrodious sirloin at that place down in Amarillo? (Or as they say down there, "Amarilla.") The one where if you eat it in an hour it's free? IIRC it's larger that the largest prime rib at Jerry's.

Lol. This is somehow far less tempting than a chance to get the first portion for free if you finish it. Can you imagine the look on your face when they wheel that second hunk out? I guess you could box it up and take it home if you're local, but it would probably go bad before you're ready to look at prime rib again.

This whole conversation brings back great memories of John Candy and the "Old 96er".

It's now closed; in the Monte Carlos Brand Steakhouse had a 120oz offering. From what I could find, 360oz is the largest prime rib listed on the menu for a US restaurant:

I'm getting one (the 48-52 oz) "to go" on July 8th. It's the last stop before I go to the airport. It will feed me and my son for the following few days.

I'm wondering if this will be enough to hold it, or should I bring a bigger container.

I believe that they're equal in volume, but one is deeper than the other.
    So, what do you think . . . ?
    Container A

    or container B
