Some might remember my thread were I ‘upgraded’ my comp One BR Tower Suite at Luxor to a Panoramic Suite at Vdara for an extra $580 (great discount, but not comped anymore).
That was for the last 3 nights of my 9 night stay.
I do love great hotels and nice rooms.

Now something is possible for the first 3 nights of my trip.

    Current:

Ultra Hip King at Planet Hollywood, full comp, no resort fees (Diamond).
Cabana for the first full day ($133 including all fees)
Hertz rental for the second full day (premium SUV, $117).

Now, I read somewhere that you can ‘add’ a travel companion (my wife, Diamond through match, $50 coin-in lol as we used my card primarily). I tried it today, thinking it wouldn’t do a thing, but behold: comped at everything during a lot of dates now!

Out of all research, I’d like to give Caesars Palace a shot. Pools seem magnificent. Forum room comped for 2 of 3 nights, but I understand these are not as nice. I cannot book an Augustus room (it doesn’t show up), but I can do an Octavius room. Two nights are comped, third is rather expensive. Total for 3 nights: $260 including taxes, no resort fees as Diamond.

Cabana rental on the same day as I have it at Planet Hollywood is $150 ($177 taxes/fees included) for one at the Apollo or Jupiter pools (not looking for a party pool, I want a sedate experience with some music), so that’s about $35 more than the one at PH. From what I’ve read, it should be worth it, pool at CP is out of league when compared to the ones at PH?

Rental was a nice surprise: I can have the same category from Hertz for $82, or $34 less, basically offsetting the more expensive cabana (hey, man mathematics :D)

    So, your thoughts?

Tell me something I don’t know :D and talk me into or out of paying a little bit for this switch.

Bonus question: does the cabana come with any extras like water, soda, fruit platter,...?

Thank you all for reading my post. It’s long, probably boring and you’ll notice I dream a lot :D

Well, I would talk you into it mainly because I do not like th rooms at PHo or the pool. The Octavius room you are considering at CP is better in a hotel that, generally speaking, is better. Additionally, the PHo pool is one of my least favorites on the Strip. It feels like two big tubs stuck on the roof of your house. CP actually feels like a pool deck

Octavius room is older furnishings but higher quality, bathroom has a jetted tub vs a regular tub. It will also be larger.

The pool is way way better at Caesars. Not counting cool features like a lazy river or wave pool but for just pure size and luxury, I'd rank it up there with Wynn and Aria's.

Stayed at both (7-stars with CET) at my vote would be Caesars, hands down. Not sure about their room situation but a Bellagio fountain view room or the end-cap suite (not sure what it’s called) in the Augustus would be a good choice. Also, if available, we really enjoy the NOBU hotel if it’s available.

As for pools, if you’re getting a cabana and want quite, try and get one at the Bacchus. Last couple of times I’ve gone, it’s been quiet and me and my party have had both the pools to ourselves. It’s above the BJ tables and it has a velvet rope, roping it off so people think it’s not an option for them, thus we’ve had the two pools and the hot tub to ourselves on numerous occasions.

Can’t wait to get back. Good Luck and enjoy!

The Suite you are talking about is the Augustus Premium Suite. Btw the Augustus Premium Studio is the connecting room to this suite. It too is on a corner so extra windows.

Thanks for all info so far. I’m almost set to rebook everything. While I do like the rooms at PH, the pool is indeed not comparable.

Does anybody happen to know the blackjack minimums in the pool?

CP all the way. I'm not a pool person but even I know CP pools are 10x better than PH.

PH regular Hip room is slightly better than a Forum room, but Octavius room is easily better.

Combine all that, it's worth the diff to stay at CP.

If you get there when the BJ opens, and theres a group of you, you might can lobby the pit boss to make it whatever you want (within reason) I had a buddy who doesn’t gamble large (but has excellent persuasion abilities) and there was 5 of us waiting on the table to open, he convinced the pit to open it at $10 minimum. However, after the pool got busier, they raised it to $25.

Worst room in CP is as good as any non suite room at PH because you are at CP.

I disagree with this. The worst room at PH is better than the best non suite in the Forum Tower. Julius is a toss up because they did a great job on renovations, however, it is smaller in sq/ft, window size, and the bathroom has only a shower. If you really really want a pool, Julius is fine. If the pool is just a quick in and out, go with PH and have the better room.

I spend the least amount of time in the room and the most in the rest of the casino so that's wht I added because it's CP. Just imo of course.

How about the casino? CP seems to have a lot more selection of slot games (main focus) when compared to PH?

are you booking your rental car through CET or are you just comparing prices at two locations? Was unaware if you can get deals or comps.

    Directly through CET.

PH was full comp for these dates, CP 2 nights full comp but a third pricy night not. So night 1 $0, night 2 $0, nights 3 $235 + tax for an Octavius Room for the same dates.

The in pool blackjack minimum is usually $25 but I have seen $15. It is 6:5 with the worst rules imaginable, but you are in the pool at Caesars Palace.

I have been in the "worst" room in PH; immediately walked out & asked for better. Very tiny & dark. And I am NOT picky about rooms--Ballys is my go to.
We have stayed in the Forum Tower twice pre-reno...and both times our bathroom was quite large. Only 1 room I've had at PH had a larger bathroom.
That being said, Octavius beats all rooms but a suite at PH & CP pool blows PH out of the water.
