I called SW to reprice my trip, Su, July 5 and was told it was sold out BWI-Nashvile-LAS. That surprised me somewhat.

There are three SW nonstop flights from BWI to LAS on July 5, and it looks from their website like they are all available, ranging from $187 to $286.

Is it sold out because they are still limiting number of tickets so middle seat can be open?

What’s the flight number? I don’t even see a “ticketable” WN option BWI-BNA-LAS on that date, sold out or not.

I just looked online. BWI-LAS has three nonstops with seats available.

Maybe you have some special deal, but you can do all of this online. We fly them 30+ flights a year (not this year) and I have never booked over the phone.

(thank you for including city pair and date - most people do not and answers are then worthless)

Is there some reason you are stopping in BNA vs Nonstop?

I am flying bwi to las 7/2-7/7 and my flights are all of a sudden changed to sold out. I am pretty positive it has to do with the capacity issue of not selling the middle seat.

Our flight from MDW to LAS on July 7 at 7:25 a.m. has only two seats left.

Apparently lots of early flyers. Looks more open for 9am, 11am and 1:30pm non stops... and about 1/3 the price vs the early one.

Not trying to pile on but I only fly out of BWI and there was quite a few nonstop flights when I checked two weeks ago, but when I checked again this weekend, many are selling out or exorbitantly higher in price. I took a look at my flight for end of August and it's doubled since I booked it a couple weeks ago lol.

I see that, too. Wife and I got $52 fares each way about three weeks ago when I booked. Things hadn't opened up yet and we took a stab, thinking if things were still closed up we could use the voucher within the next 12 months.

Just curious - how do you know? Do you have access to seat inventory like ExpertFlyer, or are you basing it on that “2 seat left” under the Wanna Get Away fare? If the latter, those are not accurate. It just means, currently, WN has decided to only have two tickets left at that fare bucket. Should someone buy those two, WN’s super complicated fare matrix will decide if they want to release more at that price, a lower price, a higher price, or just end the Wanna Get Away option.

SW said if we didn't use the flights we booked, we could use the money spent on them toward another flight within a calendar year.

OK, I just took the "2 seats left" for the flight at face value thinking they literally only had two left. Apologies.

No apologies, I’m not trying to knock, I’m just trying to inform. I live my life out of a suitcase and fly an excessive amount...not often on WN, but enough to know quite a bit. Never trust an airline when they say fares are running low ;)

Southwest typically rolls out schedule changes overnight Monday/early Tuesday morning. Flights that may have the connecting airport changed, flight times moved, or the flight cancelled will be marked in their booking engine as sold out a few days before the schedule rolls out. This is to prevent additional passengers that will need to be accommodated on top of those already impacted by the schedule moved.

All middle seats are eliminate through 9/30 on SW, this makes things sell out 33% quicker. My July 24th - Baltimore to Vegas has one seat left.
