Me and a buddy are gonna do it up on behalf of all of us on here that have a bit of trepidation. I respect all views on this matter that shall not be named but rhymes with "movid". I will post more pics than normal but regretfully inform everyone in advance....JR shall not be partaking of this one. I accept that in pics of JR and myself I am like a rock that is next to a rose but rocks and geology can still be okay right???

I will do as much as humanly possible to convey all the corners of Vegas in my TR two weekends from now.

Getting out isn't the issue just be prepared to self isolate at home for 2 weeks upon return.

    @Chuck2009x Happy retirement!!!

I glad I’m not the only one flip-flopping on a decision. I change my mind daily, but I figured I’d rather have it booked in case on that particular day I decide to go.

Thanks for keeping this on topic and relatively civil, even though some of us disagree on certain points.

I wish we could dispel with the idea that people who aren't rushing back to Vegas are somehow scared or cowardly. There may be some fear of illness and death involved, but for myself, it doesn't feel like fear as much as it feels like an awareness of the science and studies and what we now know about this virus. What I know is that there is a novel coronavirus out there to which none of us had immunity. It is very easily spread indoors in close contact with other people, especially where there is shouting, cheering, singing, etc. The best way to prevent spread indoors is if the majority of people are wearing masks and I don't see that in any of the photos or videos of Vegas right now. Given there is no treatment, no cure and no vaccine as of yet, people who have health issues or are somehow immuno-compromised would be taking an unnecessary risk at this point. That's reasoning, more than fear, IMO.

Everyone needs to do their own assessment of their risk level. Unfortunately I'm not as young and invincible as I once was. I've got enough co-morbidities that I need to be careful. Literally every member of my health care team has made a point to tell me how important it is that I don't catch this virus. I get it. I'm going to be avoiding humans for some time to come. I've got cabin fever as much as the next person who has been locked inside since March, but I've got to plan something that limits my exposure to other people, so that means Vegas is absolutely out for me. Maybe for a very long time. :(

100% on the absurdity of "scared or cowardly." Bravo.

We're really looking forward to our upcoming getaways!!

    Wear a mask.

A local bakery had a one donut giveaway today and posted a picture on Facebook of the line outside of people waiting to get their free donut. One person made a comment that only one person in line was wearing a mask. I was shocked at the vitriol criticism that one comment drew. No need to repeat it here, but it falls in line with the above comments.

Normally a 4 trip/year visitor, and as much as I want to go, I’m in the camp of waiting just a bit longer. Notwithstanding the lack of distancing enforcement/mask use in some areas, the people watching, the crowds cheering on a hot craps/blackjack game, zero to limited sports betting options, no buffets, etc. would put a damper on the total Vegas experience as we all know it. I am truly optimistic things will get back to normal or even closer to normal at some point however right now it’s just a little too constricting for me.

A HUGE THANK YOU to those on the ground—thanks so much for taking the time to keep us informed!

FWIW, I’m taking the same approach with live professional sporting events and decided to upgrade my TV to a bigger/smarter set this year instead of going to pro games. Now I just have to decide on QLED or OLED.

I am inching closer and closer to postponing my July trip. I've posted my reasons previously; I'm not afraid of the health risks to myself. My reasons were self-centered. Then I read another post in this thread. And, in a different context, there is mention of quarantine post-travel. That connected a few previously unconsidered dots for me..

I work in healthcare. While scaled back, our offices are open. Masked, I'm still in contact with coworkers throughout the day - and some patients too.

The idea that I could come home an asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic carrier is in my head. And, my "will I won't I" meter moved a few clicks towards won't.

I am ready to go. September. I will say that I am surprised at the perceived relaxed safety protocol of the casinos, especially with all the hype going into the reopening.

Sonya, thank you for saying what I wanted to say, only better.

My caution and practicality (and frankly, no hot desire) does not equal fear or cowardice. I am living my life.

There will be a time when we all will be able to travel freely, anywhere. I am willing to sit out a few cautious months to a year to gain many more years of unencumbered travel.

I chose, Im excited and will get back soon. I have a trip booked for next month (6 weeks away) and I hope it works out. I will continue to watch things here (thank you for these boards!) and see how things go around the country and make a final decision once we are closer, but for now I have flights and a hotel booked and I am crossing my fingers.

Thank you for stating this. I find the references to fear or being scared really annoying, and it's sound reasoning to take precautions even for those without underlying health issues.

I have not been "out of the house" since Thanksgiving.

    Surgery in January.
    VERY happy to be alive.
    (Lucky it was before SHTF)
After recovery - worked 2 for days
    - and then shut down due to Covid-19.
    I haven't worked since March 16th.

I'd love to go to Vegas, but I won't until fall 2021.
    Data driven decision.

I am jealous of everyone who has, is or will be going to Vegas before me.
I look forward to the trip reports and pictures.
    I live vicariously through you!

Gambol hard, drink like fishes and sleep on the plane home!

I'm pretty firmly in the camp of not wanting to go until all of the COVID precautions are pulled. Not because I think those precautions are wrong even a little bit, but it's just not my idea of a good time.

I'm hoping things are back to normal next year. I'd really be thrilled if normal came in time for the Circa opening because I'd like to attend it.

Our next Vegas Vacation exists only on the whiteboard. When we're back to pre-COVID behavior across the board, we'll show up. And should that be years from now, instead of months, that's the way the movie ends.

I guess I am fortunate in a weird way, in that I have to wait for my divorce/separation to be over before I can go anywhere.
So although I am pining for Vegas....my decision has been made for me.

I'm waiting to see how the 4th of July weekend works out for visitors.
At this point, it's highly doubtful we'll be returning this year.
Wishing everybody safe and lucky trips in the meantime.

The only place I'd feel comfortable going to is the WynnCore, because they seem to be taking this more seriously than the other hotels, and because it's not typically as crowded as other hotels like the Bellagio, even when things were normal. To be honest, I feel a lot more comfortable getting a haircut at the WynnCore salon than I do back at home even though it's easily 4x the price, because I'm not sure I can trust my local barber with having enough PPE and properly sanitizing everything (combs, scissors, clippers, gowns, brushes, seats, hair washing sink, etc.).
