My offer was from before the world exploded, fwiw.

I definitely put a good number of hours in over the trip, bar the day I went to 245 and didn't play at all.

A coworker is out there right now and is loving it. I think it may be his withdrawal of Las Vegas, however free is free

Do you notice any hand washing stations near the casino floor at the dirty bird?

Agree with this. Go with Flamingo, seed offers at Cosmo or other higher places (possible IF you get lucky and can do some churn with your play) and you've got a possibility of getting offers from Cosmo as well as CET. If you haven't been back in a while I'd focus on using more for bankroll as there is so much to see and do given that you haven't been there in 17 years. You won't be much in your room anyway.

And some people think Flamingo is not great. It's not high end but I like it because of the vibe and location and history of it, and I am fully comped at Encore.

Another vote for Ballys, but with the demand right now I'd throw Planet Hollywood in the mix. If the price is right, that's your best bet. It's like Ballys if Ballys was nice. It's usually more expensive but sometimes it isnt. Very short walk to Cosmo right over a bridge, still a lot of budget friendly food options, and the base room size is comparable to Ballys but with a bath tub and little bit nicer, and I think most would agree their casino is larger and nicer than Ballys. Playing at any CET property will work for seeding because they treat Las Vegas as one property in terms of gaming ratings etc.

My average at Cosmo is about $2500 a day and the only comp offers I get are the same 2-day offers a few other people mentioned, except with maybe a little fewer blackout dates and in the past those offers have sometimes included the 1br suite and at least once I had the option to use the comps toward lanai and bungalow suites for ridiculously cheap prices (in relative terms), but that was the week before thanksgiving which is a really dead time.

I'm not a particularly high-class individual, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I think the newly renovated rooms at Flamingo, Harrah's and Bally's are nice. Not like, the nicest I've ever seen, but not too shabby for a low-end joint, at all. Clean, modern, comfortable.

If you'd rather spend your money on gambling than accommodations, I'd go with Flamingo or Bally's. One thing I think a lot of people don't think about, too, is that it isn't just the room rate difference...everything is more expensive at the higher-end properties. Need to grab a pack of Tylenol to nurse your headache from, uhh, being in the sun too much? You'll pay $6 at Flamingo and like $11 at Cosmo. Want to buy an overpriced bottle of water? Hmmm...$4 at Flamingo, $9 at Cosmo. I'm just pulling those numbers out of my ass, but you get the gist.

Stay where you like to play and then see what you can get on back end comps. If variance is kind and you actually get $500 ADT, you'll likely get fully comped for the room at Flamingo and might even get it at Cosmo, BUT you'd have to have all your play within the company's portfolio (e.g. CET for Flamingo, Cosmo only for Cosmo).

FWIW, I greatly prefer Cosmo over anything in the CET portfolio...vibe is more fun, VP payables are much better, drinks are much, much better, etc., but it is just one property. It is more expensive, but it's worth the money to me.

PS, I agree with what everyone is saying about Bally's.

    Agree!
They might take them off as a back end comp based on play, but they've been hard over in the past about sticking with what status you were when you booked.
Agree with the philosophy of going cheap, but I'm a big proponent of staying where you play (or at least playing within the portfolio where you stay) so you can get something by seeing a host at the end. Maybe split the trip between properties if you're trying to establish yourself in a couple of players clubs, but spreading your play around really hurts your ADT.

Real bottom line though is play where you like to play, stay where you like to stay, and don't play for comps!

If your play is $500 BR per day and you seed at Cosmo your next trip and get a teaser the problem is with your level of play you likely won't get another offer nearly as good as your teaser so Cosmo would be a one and done. Why not stay at a bit lower tier that appeals to you and give your play to them so you will have repeat comp offers for future trips?

If alone, I would choose Cosmo. They are very generous with back-end comps.

If you plan on gaming at least 4 hours a day at higher end properties anyway, you will gernerate a teaser offer AND get comps off your paid stay. It's not guaranteed, but you will likely not end up paying much more out of pocket than staying at Flamingo, but will have a much more luxurious stay. If you enjoy cocktails on the casino floor, it will pay for itself!

With a little luck, you can probably also earn gold tier at Cosmo with your daily gaming budget and length of stay.

Wondering if anyone knows, does Cosmo match Caesars Diamond Status?

No. I asked them 2 or 3 years ago and the host said that they don't match and won't especially for Caesar's because it's super easy to become Diamond without even gambling with credit card and other memberships.
If you gambled your way to Diamond you can call a host at Cosmo and they will be quite willing to work with you. He offered me a very discounted rate with it being comped if I played my normal amount but since I wasn't sure how much I'd play that trip he gave me a couple hundred in free play just to check them out even though I was staying at Caesar's.

Flamingo all the way with me. I have never been a hotel snob. Staying at Cosmo means jack shit to me, other the chance to brag about staying there. Cosmo is meaningless to me. I would save all of that money and stay closer to the strip and have more coins to gamble with. Nobody I know is going to give a rats ass that I stayed at Cosmo.

Stay at Flamingo but make sure you ask for a "newly renovated" room.
