Just curious to see how everyone likes to press their bets.

I like to place 6&8 the once I get two wins on them I full press once and then press by half the winnings going forward

130 or 194 across. I press every hit anywhere from 30 to 100 percent when a number hits.

Put up the place bet(s) and do the opposite - reduce the bet(s) after the first hit or two.

Alternate "same bet" and "up to X amount". For 6-8, X is 1->2->3->5->7->10->14... units.

    Example on $5 table, place 6 & 8, $6 each.
1st hit on 6 or 8: same bet
    2nd hit on 6 or 8: up to $12
3rd hit on 6 or 8: same bet
    4th hit on 6 or 8: up to $18
5th hit on 6 or 8: same bet
    6th hit on 6 or 8: up to $30
    ...

It goes without saying that the majority of rolls involve either 0 or 1 hits but I have gotten as high as level 15 on the chart before seven out.

Any press betting strategy costs money. More money in play means more theoretical loss any way you want to look at it but I like this strategy in terms of always pressing after the second win yet always taking some along the way.

    I always start with a $12 6 and $12 8.

    1st hit I drop $4 and go to $30
2nd hit I collect $35 and am now up $6 on my two place bets
    3rd hit I press to $42 collect $18
    4th hit press to $60 collect $38
    5th hit press to $90 collect $40
    6th hit press to $120 collect $75
    7th hit press to $180 collect $80
    8th hit press to $240 collect $150
    9th hit press to $300 collect $220
    10th hit press to $420 collect $240
    11th hit press to $600 Collect $310

On the rare opportunities that it hits 7+ times I'll occasionally collect or do a full parlay. I depends on how the session/trip has gone. If before the roll I'm even on the session/trip, I'm more inclined to jump from $180 to $360 then to $600. If I'm chasing losses I may do the same bet on a hit. Now that I'm looking at what I'm putting back in my rack I think I'll make sure to collect every other hit once the my place bet is at $180 or only go up $30.

Assuming a $10 table and a non-6/8 point, I tend to start with $12 on each. I press full on each first hit (to $24), half on the next one (to $30), and then either leave it there or do another full press to $60. I rarely go beyond that.

Take the first win on a number to get my money back. Press the next win so I have two units riding the rest of the way. Take all the winnings from any subsequent wins and just leave two units to ride.

I only start pressing when I'm up. I do chase hail marys sometimes at the end of a long session if I'm getting killed, but that's not pressing.

Is this regression strategy employed because generally the numbers aren't hit more than once so you you have a better chance of securing a profit. And, do you play the 6&8 together, meaning if one hits you regress them both or do you treat each number on its own.

Usually I collect and don't press until a couple of hits.
After reading replies, I am thinking about going ahead and parlaying or tossing $4 in to just to $30. Seems like it can really add some excitement to the game.

Along the same lines, if playing $12 each on the 6&8 and lets say the 6 hits, would you ever going up 1 unit each on the 6 & 8 instead of parlaying it all on just the 6?

Occasionally I will employ this move. After first hit bumping both 6 and 8 to $18 and putting $2 in the rack. Next hit of either number and I will collect the $21, which the has me with $36 in action for only $1. Then however you want to go is up to you.

Cover inside numbers with place bets .
If the point is one of the inside numbers it will be three place bets.
Try to collect close to what I have exposed before pressing.
Ex. Point is 5 …...30 on Pass line plus $120 odds =$150
    Place 6+8 for $150 ea =$300
    Place 9 for $100 =$100
So collecting three place bets gets me back $420 to $500.
Depending on if I am down or up , I mess press the next hit or same bet one additional time.
On 6 / 8 when I start pressing , it will be $240 the $300 usually same bet there. Another hit got to $450 then $600
    On 5 / 9 go to $150 then $200 then $300 ……………...
If things are cooking ,I will buy the 4 and 10 for $50 or $100 ea and press every hit.

For my placed 6 & 8, I start with what I’ll call 2 units. After the first hit, same bet. Thereafter, with each win: Up 1 unit...up 1 unit...up 2 units...up 3 units...up 4 units...you get the idea. Numerically: 60-60-90-120-180-270-390-540 etc. If the 6 or 8 becomes the point, I’ll usually move the bigger of the two place bets to the one that isn’t the point and take down the other. Unless, the big bet has become really big - then, I’ll take it down and keep the smaller bet in play on the non-point number.

Green dealers tend to get mildly annoyed by this. But after I tip a few times they roll with the punches.

With my pass bet, I just go up a unit each time after the second win. So, 15-15-20-25-30 etc. I always take full odds, so being much more aggressive than that would get pricey quickly.

Man, I haven't played craps in a while because it's such a heartache but I would do pass plus come until all numbers were covered and then start pressing when all numbers were full. So if I'm at a $5 10x table (which probably don't exist at the moment) I'll start with 5x odds until all numbers are covered and then start pressing to 10x odds and after all those are set start pressing to $10/10x. I've never gotten past that stage, but the one time I got to halfway through it I ended up cashing 1500 on a 500 buy in that was down to the last 30 bucks before the hot roller (a male craps virgin to go against the superstition) showed up.

To those with the place bet strategy, do you switch to buys at a certain point, especially if vig is on wins only?
