I would prefer people include a link in posts like this.

The two things interesting with CT are

    1) The governor told them they can’t open, but it sounds like they are pulling the “sovereign government” card
    2) I’ve read they are only allowing CT and RI residents. Not sure how they will enforce e it

Where are you reading that residents outside of CT and RI are prohibited? From what @Sonya posted it says:

I take that as if you live in Mass. or NY you're not going to get offers during this time whereas I might.

When I went to the website yesterday, I was blocked from booking a room (I'm a NY resident). I don't know if they will be checking ID's at the casino entrances.

Just curious, did anyone receive an invite for a soft reopening this weekend from the Sun?

Today is Opening Day. Any word from those that have gone to Mohegan or Foxwoods on the experience so far?

I have no first hand intel (yet [emoji48]) but I did see on Facebook that they are welcoming guests from all states. Haven’t put it to the test yet, but i did snap a pic, was so happy! Sent it to my brother lol. Maybe someone who visits can give more feedback.

I was at Mohegan Sun. They did not have any plexiglass partitions or temp checks. There was some dining, but it was al fast/casual. tables had limited capacity. I did not notice any smoking. overall it was a nice experience although a bit further than I thought it would be.

So, I decided to venture out to Foxwoods last night to see how they were doing safety measures and if I would feel safe enough to play. I parked in the underground garage. The parking lot was fairly full for Sunday night at 6:45 PM. But there was no one waiting for the elevator and the elevator had 4 spots marked for people to stand. (one in each corner.) Once you get to the 1st floor, the area is roped off so that you go through the temperature check and then you can go through the property. Everyone had a mask on and I did hear them tell one woman that she needed to keep her mask on. It seemed fairly busy for Sunday. Every other machine was shut off, except for the slot machines that in a circle. The stadium seating area for roulette had individual Plexiglas enclosures and there seemed to be Plexiglas walls/enclosures on the table games. I did notice that the roulette tables would seat a maximum of 4 people. They had plenty of stations throughout the casino that had disinfectant wipes and I noticed some hand sanitizer as well. Every other sink in the bathrooms were covered for spacing purposes. There was no smoking except for designated areas and I think that those were all outdoors. I would grab a couple of wipes and wipe the machines down before I played. There's very limited food and it took me about a half hour to order and get a couple of slices of pizza from Regina's. Overall, I think that the people in the casino behaved better than what I have seen a local supermarkets and BJs Wholesale. Wearing the mask tended to make my eyeglasses fog.
They kept announcing that the Fox Tower casino was open from 8 AM to 2 AM on the weekends. So, they must be getting a decent crowd.
Oh, I did manage to leave with a little bit of their money.

I am pleased about the limited smoking. I don’t think they have a great ventilation system as i would often end up with smoke blowing in my face. Might head down tomorrow.

So I went down yesterday. It was not super fun, just sorta fun.

I was greeted with “welcome back” which was nice. I don’t know if they thermal scanned me but he waived me through, no temp gun.

Mask wearing or face covering was mandatory. It was a bit creepy to see so many people in masks but I was glad they were wearing them.

No more big glasses of “champagne” just plastic cups like you would find wrapped in plastic in a motor lodge. Waitress was hard to catch even though I tipped well and had my money out on the machine.

Really nice without smoking. Smoking will return someday as it is a “temporary” restriction.

I didn’t end up eating there. I had planned to try David Burke’s take out but I left early. Not many of my usual food places were open.

The mall has a few stores open but not many.

I will probably wait until things are more open to go back. I had fun just drinking and playing vp and keno, but all the little aggravations made it less fun. Not all the casinos were open and I normally travel around a bit. I will return when more restaurants and all gaming areas are open.

I can deal with masks for the foreseeable future. The masks and distancing make it hard for people to hear each other, and there is basically no shooting the breeze with other players. I didn’t think that would bother me but it did a bit.

Maybe I will try mohegan sun next.

I also went down last night for the first time ....2 hours down 2 back.

As the poster above said - I don’t need to rush back.

They did do thermal scans coming in. I saw the monitors from behind when walking around. Pretty cool.

When I tried to get food at 1030 there was only pizza and subway open. Nothing else.

The non smoking really was great

Tables were not open enough for me to bother. What they did have open were all full. There were multiple closed tables I’m sure they had players for but for some reason didn’t open them.

First time I went to cashier I breezed through. Second time was in line behind 15 people....only 2-3 windows open and only open in one casino so you have to walk if you’re in the wrong place.

Every other machine being off wasn’t as much of an issue as I expected. There were certainly waits for some machines. Do I think they were tightened up? Yeah probably. I hit for $400 twice but pissed it back. Most machines just swallowed up money without even a free spin back.

As noted EVERYONE had a mask on. I was amazed.

Other than that....just foxwoods. The machines are showing serious disrepair. Multiple ones wouldn’t work pressing buttons and had to resort to the touch screen.

I will say, they weren’t cleaning to my satisfaction. I paid attention and saw one screen wiped down in the 4 hours I was there. However.m, you didn’t walk 3 feet before you tripped over hand sanitizer or sanitizing wipes. I encountered a couple empty sanitizer machines but others were nearby.

Thanks. Staying at Mohegan this Friday night. I’m primarily a VP player so hoping there are several available seats at the VP bars

Not exactly related, but I am constantly amazed by the state of disrepair Foxwoods VP machines are in.

    Chris,

Please let us know if the VP bars are open. According to their website a few are. We'll be there in a couple of weeks.

    Thanks,

    Mike
