I enjoy developing news and don't mind if they don't come into fruition. I'm on the camp of sharing developing news as long as there is a disclaimer (the rumor disclaimer in this instance) if the sources are iffy so no need for the frown upon. I rather know ahead then not but also keep my expectations low in case any news doesn't come to fruition. No need to apologize @ref59405 I appreciate any leads always.

If Park MGM does go smoke free then I would prefer that. The majority of people are non smokers and as a fair person I wouldn't mind a designated smoking area to please those who'd like it. Harrah's New Orleans has an outdoor area to cater to this last time I went. It was torture playing outdoors with the humidity so I feel for the smokers who gambled there. There was something cool about playing slots outdoors in New Orleans however. Instead of an outdoor area there should just be a designated portion of slots designated for smoking. This is not up to me. I am only a reasonable human being and no one asked me lol

@Mrs Bourbon mentioned to me last month that she thought the Aria and Park might go non smoking because they replaced their carpets after what seems like just doing it not long ago. Could just be a convenient time to do maintenance however.

I smoke when I drink and gamble...But as my asthma has worsened in the recent years, my smoking has decreased significantly.

That being said, I found myself really enjoying the non smoking sections of the casinos in AC this past October.

As stated above I also think Park would be a great place for a Las Vegas casino to experiment with an entirely non smoking resort.

Park MGM to Be First Entirely Non-Smoking Resort in Las Vegas

Was the title of the linked article on his website, and then in the body 'reportedly will be'

Sorry about the bold/large font, I just copied it from the website, lol.

Where do you see “rumoured” in this Vital Vegas piece? Sonya added rumor here because this has been a problem in the past.

As you can see in the link, the Vital Vegas article did NOT say rumor and it was that article that was linked, not his Twitter post.

Just unfollowed him on Twitter, I've had enough. He knows better than to do this, but is choosing not to. To me that says it all.

I dunno..….I just think in general these days people are spending too much time on semantics about misleading headlines, etc. Scott's tweet said "rumor." The headline of the story did not. The body of the story said "reportedly." Where does it end?

I greatly understand the desire to avoid political discussion on here as that can quickly devolve into a dumpster fire. However, I guess I'm a bit curious because a few weeks ago I linked a R-J article in a post with an opinion from a gaming analyst on what the climate might be like when the city reopened and the post was taken down due to the article including "speculation." We have a couple of resorts (Circa and Resorts World) opening in the next year. Are we not going to be allowed to have any discussion on here about what we think might happen with these places as far as table limits, room rates, etc before they open because its "speculation?"

I love Vegas and have come to really like this board and of course greatly appreciate the work that Sonya and others do for the quality here, but this was just bothering me.

Based on so many comments from people about false reports coming from Vital Vegas, I am very sorry and embarrassed that I made the initial post. I read the first article on CNN.com and then was proud of myself for looking for a second source for confirmation before I posted. I failed to realize that the second source I used was the same source the CNN writer quoted. I used fluff to validate fluff. I was not aware that Vital Vegas has a reputation for posting unconfirmed announcements.

My initial post did not list this as a rumor. Sonya was wise enough to add that immediately after she read my post. This was my first time posting a "major announcement" and it could be my last. I don't know the players well enough to know who to believe.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it that much, mate. Definitely no need to be sorry or embarrassed, either.

I've most certainly posted much worse things, and likely will do again :p

Saying "rumored" in one sentence and "top players are being informed by casino hosts" in another is contradictory.

If it turns out not to be true, either:
    • He made the whole thing up himself, or
    • He's anonymously getting fed misinfo deliberately by people that want to further damage his reputation or stealth push an agenda and he isn't smart enough to know it or doesn't care. To be fair, that kind of stuff isn't limited to Twitter bloggers. Legit reporters get used all the time.

Like I said in my post and agree with the mate Marky. No need to worry about things related to Vegas. We do take Vegas seriously on this board however it should all be taken lightly. We’re all adults here and should know how to fact check like grownups even if some don’t. I appreciate anything that is circulating in the news so I can look into it myself and judge how trustworthy the article is. If it comes true then it is impressive and news worthy because as some mentioned here that all casinos allow smoking however it would be in the interest to cater to younger generations that do support Vegas with half their revenue besides gambling

Yep, I understand the sensitivity in general on how people see uncorroborated stuff on social media and run with it. Not to derail this into a discussion about Vital Vegas, but......I know Scott makes immature sexual references, does post rumors about transactions that turn out to never happen, and has probably voiced his opinion too much about the virus situation......but he's not an epidemiologist, so I really don't care about that. I just go there for updated pics on projects, maybe info about new stuff he has observed during walk throughs...….the rest of it is just fluff I can choose to ignore, IMO.
