I see on the webcam they have scanners set up to go through to get onto Fremont. I assume these are to check temperatures or are they metal detectors. If checking temps what is the procedure if you have a high temp. Should be interesting on those well over 100 days. Myself I will wait until Dec.
I went yesterday. They were metal detectors down by the Walgreens and temperature checks were being done at the casinos that had them. I got scanned at D and GG but not at Four Queens. No idea on procedure.
I'm assuming that they will be using infrared cameras to do the temperature checks. The photo below is the camera that security was telling people to face for a temperature check at the local Ameristar just a while ago. Actually, the human body regulates core temperature quite well. Metabolism and perspiration are a couple of the control mechanisms, and being in the sun when healthy should not result in that much of an increase. I've heard both 100.4F and 101F being bounced about as the temperature where they will call you aside. If you're otherwise healthy, you'll be in the heatstroke range if you're elevated to that level.
I think the issue is that they're using forehead/external scanners. If you've been out in the sun for a bit, your core temperature should be fine, but your face or how you present on a thermal scan might be a different story.
We have another thread on this in Misc Vegas Chat: https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?threads/downtown-preperations-for-reopening.174255/ They are metal detectors with a thermal detector. They are not using them as metal detectors, although they are searching purses and banning backpacks on FSE. Guests are told to hold their palms out towards the side of the machines and they display your temperature on the machine and on the console next to the machine. Let's move chatter on this over to the existing thread.
