Currently working near downtown LA; we are leaving early due to a combination of business curfew and planned protests starting later today.

My hometown of San Diego is apparently not in good shape, either.

Please stay safe out there, guys!

I just cleaned political rhetoric from this thread for the second time. You know the rules. There will not be a third.

Over 122 business in Indianapolis were vandalized, looted and/or burned Friday and Saturday night. They had an 8:00 curfew last night and closed down ramps into the city. While it did help in Indy but it just branched out to the outlying areas. Curfew again tonight. Closest it has gotten to me is about 10 miles down the road. Everyone stay safe.

The 211 was ledgendary. I grew up in Rainier Valley raised on bowling and pool. I was good at both, but the 211 was full of guys that could mop the floor with me. Wonder if they ever cleaned that elevator?

The ELEVATOR! It once broke down when 16 year-old me had to take out the garbage. All of the cans could fit into the elevator IF I stood on top of them. So there I was, standing on all of the stinking garbage. The fire department had to drop a ladder down through the top of the elevator for me to escape. I stunk so bad that I got sent home to clean up.

Things in my neighborhood have luckily remained quiet. The 2 closest Targets, the local Mall and the Walmart have both had their windows smashed with some reports of minor looting. Nothing any closer than the 1.3 mile mark I reported the other day. The Target I normally shop at was open as normal this afternoon, it looks like the front windows near the liquor shop may have been broken. Otherwise, the Star Tribune is showing a limited number of damaged locations on this area of the river including NE Minneapolis, Roseville, and St. Anthony so far.

SaintPaulJeff and my fellow Minnesotans, please stay safe. And for everyone else across the country, please stay safe as well.

After staying up past 2:00 AM on Thursday and Friday nights watching Minneapolis burn (my daughter's graduation from Minnesota was cancelled last month, but she is still living there) and falling asleep watching the national coverage - especially Vegas - on Saturday night, nothing captured my attention last night so I went to bed around midnight.

That's when shit started to get nasty in Milwaukee, and I found out that the nastiness came within about three miles from home. Not cool.

I hope cooler heads prevail, soon, because it is going to be over 90 degrees tomorrow and ALL protests and riots get worse in Milwaukee with the heat and humidity.

I've seen shops and banks being boarded up in my part of the San Fernando Valley. Work was a ghost town, we all left early around 12:00p and are working from home tonight.

Curfew in affect for LA county again, till 6a tomorrow.

A coworker asked me if I was worried that unrest/riots/whatnot would cause us problems on our Vegas trip in a couple of weeks.

I told him nah, we're going to be staying on the strip. If the troublemakers aren't familiar with the strip. Also the properties are so large that it can take almost 5 minutes to get from the sidewalk to the inside, another 10 to 15 minutes to get from inside of one casino into the one next door, they'll have to fight through the card slappers, they might get run over by some of the crazier Uber/Lyft/taxi driversm. Once they navigate and survive all that, they'll be too tired to cause problems. If all else fails the casinos will offer 3:2 single deck blackjack, 9/6 DDB VP, and single zero roulette as measures of last resort. AKA the nuclear option.

I had to be relatively near the White House earlier today for a brief work item and got ensnared in an iteration of the protests, one of the more unnerving moments in my life. Things are getting out of hand, hoping everyone stays safe out there. Based on what I saw today, things are not dissipating.

looks like things are quite tonight again in MPLS(that's the local news I watch), seems like the bad stuff burned out after 2-3 days, although bringing in huge numbers of troops no doubt mattered too.It seems like it's over, at least there.

I just had to pick my gf up from the Wynn at 11:15 and it was literally complete mayhem. The road i always take right by Resorts World to cross over LVB to the wynn was just completely blocked off when i got to LVB light.. thats odd. Then i notice the wynn entrance is completely blocked off and dark which is also very odd and deserted as theres usually security and cops out front letting people through. Its eerily silent and completely empty and dark with just me sitting there in my car at the block off for few minutes i sit there calling her figuring out what we are going to do. Then out of nowhere i start to see a few stragglers and people obv from the protest then no joke like 12 cop cars with there lights on come flying down the road off LVB all while im sitting there in the middle of the road sideways while we figure out what to do. I thought they were coming for me at first it was that crazy but it was the way the road was blocked they had to come flying by right next to me. So the Wynn security immediately tells her she cant cross the street she could get killed and to tell me to get out of there or i was going to get shot????? Apparently there was just a shooting ( i did not know this at the time) at the time of all this down by Circus Circus up the road. So luckily her co worker was there and gave her a ride and i had to meet them all the way over by Palace Station. I had no clue about the circus circus thing at the time and there were cops everywhere and it literally felt like i was in the middle of the protest as there was also people everywhere as i had to take Sammy Davis to get over to Palace Station. The cops had the highways blocked off by Palace Station and i don't know or see any tear gas but my eyes immediately started burning when i got onto Sahara. Needless to say it was absolute mayhem and things definitely did not look like they were starting to die down if anything this rioting and madness looked like this isnt going to end anytime soon.

I would not be surprised if they put a curfew in effect tomorrow and stop this and also at this point i dont see how the casinos even open back up on Thursday...

Everyday I am seeing protestors moving to different citys. Saturday was downtown LA getting looted and fires, Sunday long beach and santa monica, Monday van nuys and hollywood (hollywood mostly peaceful during day til the curfew came and they refused to leave and decided to start trouble some of them). I wonder what city is next today (Tuesday). Also citys like Santa Monica and Long Beach both had early curfews like 1pm yesterday.

I hope this does not continue anymore and people start obeying the curfews or the government will make the curfews even earlier. My area LA County was 8pm on Saturday and then on Sunday and yesterday changed to start at 6pm.

Protestors don't loot and burn but criminals do. We had some local protestors but they were peaceful and respected the police.

Second quiet night in a row last night. Saw all the scary violence in other cities on the news this morning, it’s incredible.

I’ve really learned to appreciate my local community the past week, can’t believe how lucky we were to have great neighbors when we bought our house last year. Many of them are very impressive- helping cleanup damage during the morning, joining the peaceful protesters in the afternoon, and helping watch our block at night. Kudos to all good people out there, glad there are many many more good in our communities than bad.

amazing learning experience this past week, perspectives gained as well

I used to live in Newark, CA back in 1999-2001 so I had been wondering what everyone in the east bay was going through this past week
