My favorite was when the Riviera gave out leftover Super Bowl glass beer mugs (customized with the date and roman numeral for that year's game), 4 months after the Super Bowl, as comp gifts for a promotion. I still have them...lol

2nd place was a 10 pound wooden horse race board game given out at a Kentucky Derby slot tournament at the Golden Nugget. Fine for those driving, maybe, but not fun for those flying, having to drag home a 10 pound, 24x18 boxed board game in your bag. I ended up selling it on eBay, to get rid of it, but only clearing $10 or so after shipping costs.

Reminds me. Normally I wear large latex gloves (if I need to for work) but I can fit into medium but a bit tight. Went to the store and these gloves advertised themselves as “one size fits most”. Figured it would be large or worst case medium... nope. Small

A "souvenir photo" at the old Vegas World. Printed on a 1980s-vintage dot matrix black and white printer, shot with a video camera.

Women's jewelry ...being a guy with no significant other, I usually end up giving it away. LOL I use to give those oversize t-shirts to my dad, but since he passed away a few years ago, I still have a few of them in my closet closet collecting dust.

I wait until the last minute and hope they run out of things I find ridiculous.
They once had a combination hot dog and bun toaster I was happy to miss.

Sounds like a very fitting Stupak giveaway. If Stupak autographed it, I'd buy it from you! ;-)

LOL, IIRC I tossed it in the trash in the hotel room at the Stardust before checking out. It was baaaaadddd! Made a drivers license photo look like a Glamour Shots studio portrait by comparison!

We once got a pint glass with the casino's name on it. Turns out, though, the name was just a sticker. Came off in the first wash and became just a plain, clear glass.

Got a mailer from my local for a free vacuum. My 4 year old son is obsessed with vacuums and wanted his own. So I went and waited in line for an hour to get it...

Wow, what a bunch of crap.

Reminds me of my college internship in the marketing department of a race track (horses). I was amazed by the number of people that showed up to receive the most random and oddball freebies that had absolutely nothing to do with horse racing.

We had nothing compared to the great Stupak of course. When the $400 package value includes a mystery gift worth $395, you know it's going to be something ... er... special?

I once saw Jean Scott on a show on the Travel channel back when they did a lot of evergreen programming about Vegas and she had an entire garage stacked floor to ceiling full of these promo items that she never used.

I won’t go out of my way to pickup comps earned on play most of the time. Last year we stayed at the Horseshoe in Bossier City and for some reason I did pickup the ice tea maker. I’m not sure why since it is still in the box and sitting where I put it when we got home.

I no longer take a comp offer with a gift unless it's something that:

    1) I need
    2) I can use
    3) if it meets both #1 and #2, something that I can buy at a cost that doesn't justify me going to Las Vegas (or Reno, or Tahoe)

I'm with Dailun. I'm not going to show up to take something I don't want or need. Please someone tell me why would you do that.
