Just guessing, Flamingo is a marginally better hotel layout with more rooms. The more rooms gives them more room to spread people out and still accept more reservations than the Linq would. It was pretty clear a month ago or so that both MGM and CET were going to open a higher end hotel and a lower end one (Bellagio and NYNY for MGM).

They announced it on their FB as well. Just changed our July reservation from Ballys to Flamingo just in case.

Is this what you are talking about?

LAS VEGAS (May 21, 2020)-- Caesars Entertainment Corporation (“Caesars Entertainment” or the “Company”) today announced that it will resume gaming and hospitality operations in Las Vegas at its Caesars Palace and the Flamingo Las Vegas properties on the date and time for reopening specified by the State of Nevada.

The Company also announced that it expects Harrah’s Las Vegas Hotel & Casino and the gaming floor at LINQ Hotel & Casino to be the next properties in Las Vegas to reopen, with timing based on customer demand.

Both Caesars Palace and the Flamingo will offer lodging, dining options and access to their outdoor pools, as well as slot machines and table games. All offerings will operate in a manner consistent with physical distancing guidelines. The Company will be suspending fees for paid self-parking in Las Vegas.

Additionally, the Company anticipates that several retail and dining outlets along the LINQ Promenade, as well as the High Roller Observation Wheel, will reopen.

”Some offerings, including live entertainment, bars, spas, buffets and valet parking will not be resuming immediately.

Among the enhanced health and safety protocols are more frequent cleaning and sanitization. Caesars is also implementing a health screening program for all employees to determine which employees will be required to be tested for COVID-19 before returning to work, and thereafter will conduct employee temperature checks before every shift. Team members will be required to wear masks, which will be provided by the Company. Guests will also be provided masks and will be strongly encouraged to wear them throughout their visit.

We have a trip planned for mid-July at Bally’s. Trying to decide if we should change hotels now or just see what happens by then. Lots can happen in two months (this could be good or bad!).

Just cancelled my June 5th arrival at CP. No Sting, no point in going for us. I am more geared towards dining and entertainment when visiting Vegas. Hopefully all goes well with the reopening. Maybe a visit more towards fall/winter.

May I ask what day you were set to arrive? I have a reservation for 6/20 and my app/website does not say anything about not being open. My host recommended I wait before trying to change anything because "things are changing daily as plans are finalized"

I would totally agree with this as well. June 20th is a real long ways from today with how fast things are changing. I would just sit tight for at least a week.

I'm not changing and agree @nostresshere - note, my host reached out to check on me, I didn't call about changing as it wasn't even on my radar. But it did come up in convo as he told me, before it was publicly disclosed, that CP and Flamingo would open first. But, before I do anything, I gotta at least let something open and see how it goes. Hoping to get info off some trip reports between now and this planned trip to make educated decisions. I'll be making the decision about my trip at the last minute.

I am booked for Ballys for July 7 to 14, booked it back in February. Great rate 5 nights comped weekend $34 per night resort king. I havent booked my flight due to the unknown. I am holding out until May 31 if nothing is announced for Ballys I am cancelling the trip and try for September, otherwise no Vegas this year.

My August conference was just cancelled. So, freed up a room for someone at CP end of August. Hope to maybe make a solo non-work trip in Oct/Nov if all is going well with the @new normal”.

Saw this on twitter. Looks like CET isn’t putting a lot of effort in changing reservations like MGM has. 6CB69510-57D0-47A3-9B6B-1016D99AE496.jpeg
