Anyone receiving (or expecting) better offers with the impending reopening?

Checked my comp offers today hoping to see something better than what I’ve had since our last trip in early September but they’re all the same. Thought maybe they’d want to draw in as many people as possible with better discount/comp offers but, at least for me, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Not that I can afford to go soon anyway but was curious. Anyone else noticing a change for better or worse, or just status quo?

I am getting offers for Caesar properties and MGM the crazy thing is the comp offers are not what they were before the shutdown, at least for me. I booked July 7 to 14 for Ballys in February before the shutdown with 5 nights comped and weekend rate of $34 Friday and Saturday nights. I am still holding the reservation but haven't booked the flight yet, still uncertain what to do and not hearing anything about Caesar properties is making me nervous. I can deal with all the precautions that is being put in place since I am a Infection control/EVS operations manager for a large hospital and know everything there is about taking precautions like washing hands, wearing a mask and everything else in-between.

I don't expect to see an increase in offers until late in the year.
There is so much uncertainty even if they do have a scheduled opening date.
    - When can they officially open in full? (is is still possible that the date changes after offers are extended?)
    - Even if casinos can open.. When will people be able/willing to fly? (many borders are still closed)
    - How difficult will it be for casinos to enforce social distancing? (until they are open and actively enforcing it to see, it might not be the best idea to max out on occupancy in the casinos)
    - what type of risk is there if they can not or do not enforce social distancing properly and people crowd around craps tables.
    - most of the casinos that have opened so far have resulted in long lines of people gathering outside the casino waiting to get in. (not likely in vegas as there is soo many of them but something to be concerned about)

I believe other then a tier credit bonus, there will not be a big increase in offers from what you were getting until November or later while they adjust to what the new normal will be in the casino and make alterations.

I’ve only received one offer, and that’s from the D Hotel. When I was there in February, I didn’t stay there, but apparently my play generated a decent offer from them. My dilemma is that I’m just not crazy about returning in July or August. My preference is to wait and see how those returning are adapting to the adjustments being made.

My room offers are the same or slightly better at CET where everything save for NOBU is comped, however, the marketing offers are non-existent insofar as free play, food (which I get given the uncertainty), and other events (which I also get).

I’m thinking in a month or so things will update once some properties are open, the companies can assess how many people are coming, if their safety methodologies are working, etc.

I see no point in getting worked up about this now, however, if the same issue is happening come August for example, then I’ll reassess if this is the sort of business that deserves my money. For now, I think it’s best we give them a pass on the updating or lack thereof insofar as marketing offers.

Also, something to consider is that all the marketing staff has been furloughed for these past 2 months, so there has not been any updates to the marketing offers since the casinos have been closed. Give it some time for everyone to get back working for new or better offers to be generated.

My V/P offers now include slot tournaments and comped nights. A year ago, I was getting no gaming-based enticements to play or stay there.

At every other property where I have comps, I have seen my most recent offers be no better than before, or even get worse. Evaluation of play to update offers tend to happen 1-3 months after one's most recent play, usually at fixed times (e.g. quarterly, on a certain day of certain months).

My most recent play with MGM in Vegas was at the end of December 2019, and their Vegas offers tend to lag behind Vegas play by three months. My Mlife gaming offer received at the beginning of May 2020 would be the first to for sure be inclusive of my most recent MGM play (noticeably higher ADT than my usual), and the offer remains flat. In fact, my MGM locals free play (Springfield and National Harbor) has been frozen in place since late March -- showing as "available" even on days of the week when it would usually be unavailable for use. The gaming offer automation is still running, but I suspect that player evaluation has not happened since closing.

My most recent CET play (a bit more than my usual ADT) in Vegas was at the beginning of February 2020. CET was occasionally posting offers since the closing in March, but just about all offers have come off the board due to the closing. My regular CET loyalty offer most recently arrived this month (May 2020), and it is good for stays starting in October 2020. That offer is only slightly elevated for the free play portion but it otherwise remained flat.

Just about anywhere else will need another 1-3 months to know for sure if they are putting extra enticement into offers. I suspect that offers are going to remain flat at best for a few months, since the people who are going to travel to Vegas right away primarily for gaming activity would have more likely done so on their own accord anyway (that is, not needing a huge offer to entice them back). If I travel to Vegas before September, I would only be booking stay-and-plays at places where I have either never stayed before or where the place wowed me with an offer out of nowhere.

Just my wild guess. Maybe they are waiting a little bit because of the optics. There seems to be a crowd of motivated players that will go when the doors open. If Vegas casinos suggest but don’t require masks AND goose up their offers, things could look bad if bad health outcomes result from the reopening. IMO better to wait a few weeks to see how the reopening plays out.

I'd remind people that we don't yet have an opening date for Las Vegas casinos. Please don't get ahead of your skis. I presume that once there is a definite opening date, you'll see some offers.

My host at Tunica said that my offers should be “richer” but so far FP and travel reimbursement offers are the same as they were before the pause. My Cherokee host said that FP offers for June should show up soon. Nothing yet.

I would expect offers to be really weird and not what anybody expects. If you're a whale that they always comp huge, in all likelihood noting changes. If you're a light player that normally they don't mind having, they may not want you in a reduced capacity environment. Your offers go down. If you're a moderate player that they like more than the usual stiff that shows up, I expect your high leverage comps to go up. By high leverage, I mean things that are cheap for them and valuable to you. I expect your rooms and resort fees to get cheap. Free Play and promotional chips that you can convert into cash easily may be harder to come by.

Last June I was living in Florida and visited the Golden Nugget in Laughlin. Every month since then I have been offered 2 nites per month Sun - Thurs. I never took them up on the offer as I lived so far away.

Two weeks ago I moved to Arizona to retire. Being as how I am much closer to Laughlin now. I decided to see if the Golden Nugget was extending my offer. I was surprised to find they are now offering 3 nites for the last 2 weeks of May and also 3 nites twice during the month of June. I guess they want to fill those rooms and casino. I’ll be going, just waiting for the official announcement of the Nevada casinos opening.

I decided to check my V/P Grazie account. Wow. They really have improved the offers page. It is a DRAMATIC improvement over the previous design with a lot more information. And surprisingly, though I haven't received emails for offers I have two nice offers in my account that are good through late September. Both offers I can use during my August trip, so I'm pumped! Hopefully Palazzo will be open in August.

I am showing comps at all CET properties except CP, Nobu & Cromwell by myself for the foreseeable future. Nicer rooms than usual too.
I also see $45 in free play in each June & July--I rarely see much free play (mostly play poker)
When I link DH CP is also comped.
Bellagio had 2 comp nights this summer on MyVegas (been years since I saw that!)
Venetian offering 1 night thru for 1st responders (I believe it is now BOGO; DH & I are teachers and were on the original list as essential workers)

So June: 5 nts Flamingo GO room, 2 nts Bellagio
July: 5 nts Caesars, 2 nts Venetian

Too bad car rentals are so high! But kinda makes sense.

Just saw strong CET LV freeplay offers appear for July and August.
I don't see any difference in the types of rooms available with these offers compared to before they shut down. Fairly limited rooms with the offers and more so if CP and Flamingo are still the only options in July.

At least with MLife the limited reopening will limit their room inventory. They need to see what the reopen looks like in terms pf capacity before they can up our offers. It's a supply and demand game. We've all been itching to go somewhere for 9 or so weeks now, they can't just open the flood gates. They want some paying customers too. I would expect the back half of the year there will be adjustments. They don't know what to adjust if they don't know who is or isn't coming. That will take a little time.
