No. The Vegas property was owned by a different company who franchised the Hard Rock name from the Seminole Tribe, who owns the brand.

They wanted to put a Seminole hard rock casino in Kenosha, WI years ago but the governor vetoed it

I wouldn’t call the Seminole Hard Rock locations in FL youth oriented. Part of that may be the population in the market, but I think the brand and memorabilia does lend itself to an older crowd.

I think it’ll be interesting to see how it works if/when they enter Vegas, because people are going to have a set idea of what Hard Rock Vegas is even though it was a completely different operator just paying for a name.

    Honestly I am confused.
Wasn't it a failed business in Vegas? I mean the Hard Rock brand and theme thing?
What's the point of bringing it back?

The Hard Rock brand still means something. Also there is no indication it was a failed business. The owners of the property just saw more value in selling than continuing to operate, which looks like a great decision given the market right now.

Yeah, they sold just before the pandemic hit. Talk about great timing on the part of the recent owners.

This is exciting news. I love the Hard Rock in AC but still don't know the connection. It would be great to have connected properties.

I love the idea of a brand new or significantly amended physical space; it would be the first such one post-Covid and presumably would be designed with a different kind of a gaming and entertainment future from a physical distance and engagement perspective.

Maybe they are hoping to build one of their guitar shaped hotels on the strip[IMG]

I also wish Hard Rock would combine their casino rewards clubs. They have some interesting locations to visit (Punta Cana, Biloxi, Atlantic City, etc.)

Tampa Hard Rock communicated with the Tampa Bay Times last Thursday regarding its tentative plans to re-open this casino in several weeks at 50% capacity of their normal 10,000-20,000 daily guests. They will utilize thermal body imaging for everyone entering the property. The Tampa casino has generated $1 billion/year in revenue and employs 4800 workers here. Their biggest concern is that after the initial expected surge in pent up demand trails off, what will be their patronage given the reduced discretionary income of so many people. HR is present in 76 countries and will also be confronted with a thousand other issues around the globe.

Perhaps HR will make a move on the Vegas Strip down the road but given the current circumstances, I think it would be an extreme risk for them to acquire anything in a destination which could be suffering for a long time to come.

The original hard rock hotel in Vegas was the best spot on the strip to party- before City Center was built.
They had the best pool layout. One of the 1st to put a nightclub on-property.
They set the trend for the Sunday pool party which kept people in Vegas an extra night (or some people just came in town for Sunday-Monday).
But like everything else in Vegas- lots of newer hotels copied their ideas. And being off-strip hurt their ability to compete.

Wouldn't it be a great time to get a better deal on a LV property?
Since they aren't public I'm not sure
we know how many billions HR might have in the bank?
I wouldn't be surprised to see CET unload a property.

That is one bad-ass looking hotel.:clap::clap: How cool would that look somewhere between Planet Hollywood and MGM, directly across LVB from MB or maybe even where the Trop is? Not speculating....just stirring the pot a bit.

For what it’s worth, Hard Rock Atlantic City is owned by Boardwalk 1100 llc whose owners include two local investors and Hard Rock International. In turn, Hard Rock International operates the property. Resorts Atlantic City has a similar ownership structure in that it’s owned by Morris Bailey and run by Mohegan Sun.

Now that Hard Rock has all the pieces in place they can plant their flag on the strip. As for how many billions in the bank @vegasvstr, I’m sure Hard Rock won’t be hurting for partners to put up the money to buy a strip property. As part of Eldorado’s acquisition of Caesars Entertainment, the strategy was to sell off at least one strip property to reduce debt.
