I am trying to get a feel for who would be interested. Thank you @Sonya for approving this. Please mark the poll if this is something you'd like to do. If we get enough numbers, I will set it up.

    Details:

It will through Poker Stars (date/time TBD). You will need to download the app on a computer or laptop (I do not think it will work on a mobile device).
    https://www.pokerstars.net

This will be a free tourney, but the winner will get bragging rights and a free VMB bracelet. The tournament will have 20 min blinds and 3000 in starting chips. You will need to "buy in" with 20,000 of play chips which you can get for free (this is the lowest amount that the game will allow for the "buy in").

Here are the steps to get into the game after you have downloaded the app:

    1. Open the main poker lobby

    2. Click on home games tab in lower right corner

    3. Click join a poker club button

    4. Enter club ID XXXXXX - I will create this before posting on VMB

    5. Enter invitation code XXXXX - I will create this before posting on VMB

If I get 12 people to confirm, I will set this up this evening for a Saturday evening game. Thanks!

    Sounds like fun.
A good idea for something to do during this lock down BS.
I voted yes even though I would not be able to participate -- my only internet is my cell phone right now.

Great idea @EastCoastVegasFan! ....I swore off poker years ago.

If we’re ever in Vegas at the same time. Come by. We will shoot some craps and have a few pints(on me).

I won’t play poker but I really enjoy your enthusiasm on VMB!!!!

I run a weekly tournament for my poker group through PokerStars since we can't get together live. It's been running every weekend since the end of March. We also use Zoom (not everyone participates though) to talk trash, catch up, bust balls, etc.

Items for you to consider when setting up your tourney:

    1) We have about 10-12 players every week.
    2) We start with 10K in chips.
    3) Our blinds are 10 mins.
    4) Our max players on a table is 9. I think you can set it to 6 and there are a couple of other numbers you can use.
    5) There is an option to have breaks. We have it turned on. The breaks occur at 55 mins past the hour and last for 5 mins. Since we are drinking while we play, it gives players time to get another beer, go to the bathroom, whatever.
    6) With our headcount, these settings make the game last 3-4 hours.

Hope this helps in your setup.

Yeah, I like the idea of a 5 minute break per hour.

Not much of a poker player. But if you need some cannon fodder, I might be willing.

    Signed up. :poker::beer:

Just an FYI for other folks who are kinda slow with the Google-machine stuff like me...for this step,
I had to first click “More” in the bottom right corner before it took me to the home games tab.
