I was still in college when "Sussudio" was a big hit. I used to watch David Letterman every night and he had a running joke about the song title meaning "suit of suet". This eventually led to one of the show's biggest duds up to that point when Dave had this woman make a suit covered with suet and bird seeds which he wore into a cage with birds, goats and rabbits. The idea was the animals would swarm Dave to eat the suet, but they just ignored him. It was so stupid, but I cannot hear Phil's song today without instantly thinking back to that Letterman show and bursting out in laughter.

I'm one who actually likes it. Yeah, it's a catchy earworm that gets old after a while, but it's a good dance tune and the added vocal of {mumble} from B52s does make the song work, in my not so humble opinion, that is.

Hey, if we all liked exactly the same stuff, this world would be incredibly boring. I'm sure there are maybe 1-2 here who actually enjoy You're Having My Baby {_GAG_} or Muskrat Love {_RETCH_} but have chosen to stay silent.

There is some irony in that statement when he got. It is actually a Jackson Browne song that Glen Frey helped him finish when he got stymied. As I'm sure you know there is a statue in Winslow depicting the scene. The incident is factual, but actually happened in Flagstaff! And for those of you keeping score at home, the truck was a Toyota not a flatbed Ford.

Everybody at the time just thought it was filler to round out the album.

I love quite a few of his tunes, particularly from the first few albums when he wasn't a superstar. He has had his share of turkeys, though, although I risk a flamewar by saying so. (Back on Usenet there was an informal guideline that you never used "Springsteen" and "sucks" in the same paragraph, let alone the same sentence, else you risked all kinds of wrath.) :)

I thought that was when you said "Dylan" and "sucks" in the same sentence?

When " Take It Easy " exploded -
I did " STAND ON A CORNER IN WINSLOW ARIZONA "
....I hitch hiked ( accompanied her for her security ) w a female friend to her first teaching job on the Chinle Navajo Reservation -
    I stood on a corner.....and looked around......there wasn't a soul in sight !!!!
It was as if I walked into a dust bowl / tumbleweed frontier Main St - all by myself
Not a single soul .........where the hell was anybody ?
But I sang THAT SONG LINE as I stood there !
It was an AWESOME MOMENT !!!!!!
.......and my band in Phoenix was "covering " the other Eagle hit ..... " Already Gone "

Agree with 'ITIGB' as an awful Rush song. In addition, IMO...

    'Tai Shan' and 'Dog Years'

Three songs by The Rolling Stones that I can't stand:

    - 'Sympathy For The Devil'. The constant "hoo-hoooo, hoo-hoooo" during the second half of the song just grates on my last nerve.
    - 'Miss You'. How this song made it to #1 is beyond me. 1978 was the height of disco so that's probably why.
    - 'Emotional Rescue'. Mick's vocals are just annoying.

Thank you! He can write songs and put together a good surrounding group but personally he's terrible. He either sounds constipated or he just moans when he attempts to sing. He should become the manager, drive the bus, hire musicians, write songs, and hire a real singer. Some of his older songs could have been really good with someone like Billy Joel singing them.

I'm with you 100% on Emotional Rescue but I like the other two even with the "hoo-hoo" which lowers the quality a bit.
