I agree. That was a FANTASTIC episode, sad but really highlighted the Vegas strip. It was the last episode that aired yesterday. As they were driving down the strip in early dawn, Danny said: "God, I love this town."

Although the casino moved around, I think I remember it mostly being down South. I always placed it in the area of the concert venue across from Luxor/MB.

    Here's some info from Wikipedia:

The location of the fictional Montecito has changed from season to season. Some of the first episodes were shot at the Monte Carlo and Mandalay Bay. Because of its similarity to Mandalay Bay, many of the show's visuals place the Montecito at the far southern end of the Las Vegas Strip, albeit usually across the street from Luxor on the airport side of Las Vegas Boulevard. The exact location and rotation of the building seems to vary within this area; indeed, the CGI zoom shots of the building's exterior in the season-two episode, "Montecito Lancers", shows the building in three slightly differing locations for three different shots. Also, a few interior and exterior shots were filmed in Dana Point, California, at the St. Regis Hotel in Monarch Beach. In season five, the Montecito seems to have a consistent location across from the Luxor.[19]

Many of Mandalay Bay's interiors and exteriors (including its wave pool) have been used as Montecito exteriors, although (according to the Internet Movie Database) the actual set of Montecito is located at Culver Studios, in Culver City, California, so the interiors are a replica of the Mandalay Bay. The season-three set of Las Vegas has been said to be the biggest set for a TV show ever.

During the first season of the show, many of the Montecito's suites overlooked various parts of the middle part of the Strip, placing the hotel near where The Venetian, Flamingo Las Vegas, or The Mirage are located, before the more consistent location at the southern end of the Strip was finalized.

During the first season, except for the pilot episode, the sets were built as needed for filming.

Some episodes were shot using interior and exterior shots of Green Valley Ranch, including a shot of the pool and spa area where, in one episode, Everlast holds a concert.

In season three, Ed Deline's office appears to be in the middle of the strip, overlooking Harrah's, Caesars Palace, The Mirage, and The Venetian, which puts the Montecito near where Treasure Island is located. This is inconsistent with the flyover shots of the Montecito, which would place Ed's office over two miles away. Closer examination of the window scene shows that The Mirage's marquee over their driveway has been edited to read "Montecito". In season 4, "Died in Plain Sight", a scene in Ed Deline's office shows again an overview of The Mirage and Caesars Palace. Again, it is a confirmation that Ed Deline's office would be where Treasure Island is located.

According to an episode that originally aired in December 2005, the Montecito is located about 1.5 miles from Wynn Las Vegas. This distance is in a straight line ("as the crow flies") as opposed to a reference to actual driving distance. This distance is inconsistent with long shots that place the Montecito near the airport, Luxor, and Mandalay Bay, but is in line with the season-three visual references noted above. Other episodes show aerial shots of the Montecito that make it appear to be situated at the corner of Giles St. and Reno Ave., about half a mile from Mandalay Bay and across from the Luxor.[citation needed]

Ha, I was on my way here to post this. It was always pretty inconsistent.

Vegas geography errors have always kind of amused me, mostly because I'm the only one of my friends who ever notices these things.

I've watched about ten episodes yesterday and today. Seems like all the observations I had have been addressed: the opening theme song, the location of the Montecito, the incorrect sequencing...
It always seemed like The Love Boat of the new millennium to me. The base cast, the new guests coming in with their storylines, and the guest stars like Black Eyed Peas, Snoop Dogg, Michael Buble, Sly Stallone. As I watch it now I realize how weak it was. Still entertaining to see Vegas in its glory days. 2006 was probably the height of popularity of the Strip.

am I the only one who liked "Vegas" with Dennis Quaid playing real life sheriff Ralph Lamb? Set in old Vegas I thought it was a good show, others thought differently as it only lasted one season...

I am hoping they pick it up next week. The last episode was wild and depressing. It showed the Montecito being blown up post a takeover of the property, Nessa was unknowingly in danger as she was flying to London, Mike was thinking about going on the road as back up singer for his aunt, Gladys Knight!, etc. It was actually stressful to watch and then I saw on Wikipedia it looks like that was the end of Season 2 and there were five seasons. Whew!! I then remembered a whole season that featured Tom Selleck too.

I heard Prince wrote Manic Monday for the Bangles so he could bag Susanna Hoffs. There's no telling what he would say or do in the pursuit of beautiful women.

    Shows I recall
    • American Casino.... a reality TV show set at GVR . I recall thinking that a manager who screamed at and belittled her employees could never do that in California. It was an interesting watch.
    • Vega$, with Robert Ulrich as Dan Tanna
    • Dr. Vegas with Rob Lowe as the casino doc on call. Also filmed at GVR, it was so unsuccessful, they didnt even air most of the episodes filmed. I shamefully confess that I liked it.
    • Vegas, with Dennis Quaid, mentioned above
    • The Casino, a reality show set downtown and a restoration of Golden Nugget. What I remember most: it's how I discovered crooner Matt Dusk

I loved that show, but it suffered from deficiancies almost from the start. The first few weren't bad, but the writing went downhill fast. The set depicting the DT casinos looked almost cartoonish. Done right, I think it would've worked, but.........

I was a fan of hers since she was on a show in the mid 90’s that had the dad talking to a bunny stuffed animal and the bunny could talk to him too 9EFD4F75-3BFC-4DC6-AC9E-AA53529262B0.jpeg

Unhappily Ever After. Nikki was pretty nice but she unfortunately took the Bog-pill, another victim of excessive plastic surgery.

I happened to be there one afternoon and saw Padma in a hallway and had a quick chat with her... She was cordial.
    I was aroused.

That’s is what I heard, excessive plastic surgery. I looked her up online one day seeing what happened to her and I saw the end results from it.

I liked that show... mostly for Michael Chiklas, though.
