Let's please keep this on the topic of Soup Plantation/Sweet Tomatoes and not about what this means for buffets in Vegas, because that's too speculative right now.

Well that sucks. My friends and I always stopped at the Sweet Tomatoes on our way back from Portland. Good soups and salad bar.

The frau und in-laws really loved going to Sweet Tomatoes. I figure that this, along with a number of other buffet style facilites would have a hard time coming back post-COVID.

Aww, I liked dining at Sweet Tomatoes! I will miss them, although there weren’t any near where I live now.

I loved Sweet Tomatoes and when my team was in Florida it was our go-to as they could eat a lot and reasonably healthy at them

Maybe not the current buffets, but if there is a demand for them, and when covid is no longer an issue, there will be buffets. Sure, they may be hidden away in the back of marijuana stores where you must give a secret knock, strip and be scanned to enter, but there will be buffets. I must believe this or life will be meaningless.

Very sad. I recall finding Sweet Tomatoes in SoCal in the 90s and relishing its soup and salad concept. It will be missed. Even before the virus, though, the company was in trouble.

    I already miss Souplantation's house-made soup offerings.
Buttermilk corn bread and blueberry mini-muffins were tasty too.
I'd secret knock for some right now.

When I was still gainfully employed. a bunch of us from work used to go to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch about twice a month. It started because some of the crew were vegans and they really liked the selections. I loved the soups and the pasta.

Sorry to read this. I have a Sweet Tomatoes within walking distance of my home. And it's an anchor store in the local retail development.

We never had a Soup Plantation or Sweet Tomatoes around here, but we did have a place call Souper Salad. I think they closed down years ago. I first heard of the Soup Plantation on the Big Bang Theory, but I've never seen one.

We had Souper Salad and Sweet Tomatoes in my former hometown. I’m sad to see them go. When you had vegetarian friends and needed a casual restaurant to meet for dinner, they were perfect.

I remember reading a year ago or so that the company was doing poorly. It was an interesting concept.

Another very sad vote. We hit Sweet Tomatoes about twice a month. We also had some staff we really liked there. This really made us sad!

    Sorry to hear this.

We ate at Sweet Tomatoes about once a month in Houston with the grandkids who loved the mac n cheese and chocolate muffins. The salad bar was fresh and clean and the soups were good. I always got my tapioca pudding fix !
