Here is my answer that I already posted to the many other similar threads:
I won't travel until I am sure it is safe. I DO NOT WANT TO INFECT SOMEONE THAT MIGHT BE A HIGH RISK PERSON.
Given that we don't know if we are carrying this virus for up to 21 days, it isn't worth it for me.
MY GOOD TIME ISN'T WORTH ACCIDENTALLY CAUSING SOMEONE ELSE'S DEATH... and that's the bottom line for me.

Count me in! Plus I live so close. I might not head over right when they re-open, but have July and maybe would consider June if it’s safe.

Even with restrictions, I’m not worried and think that could be positive. I’m acclimating to wearing a mask for work so that part doesn’t bug me either. I’m excited to support my favorite city when it’s safe to do so!

We pushed back our June trip, and now have airline and partial hotel booked for July 3-10. Waiting to see who’s open and what they’re offering before I finish hotel booking. I do vegas in spring and fall with mom, and summer with the hubby. Hubby and I will likelygo through with July 3 even if it’s iffy.....if it was a ‘mom’ trip, I’d cancel (she’s 80). Some things I always do in Vegas (massage, show) I expect to be missing, but I’m mostly there to gamble so slots, tables, and somewhere to eat is enough for me. If some pools are open,I’ll consider it a bonus. We never go to clubs, and my idea of drinking is a michelob ultra at a blackjack table, so not too worried about club and bar status.

I'm sitting it out for a while. Wearing a mask and not eating in restaurants and worrying about touch points even more than usual while on vacation is not my idea of a vacation and for now I would rather be in a place where I am outside most of the time rather than an indoor centric place like las Vegas. I had been thinking about a cruise later this year but that isn't happening either. If we take a vacation this year, it will be someplace that doesn't have a lot of surfaces to touch and plenty of fresh air.

Really miss it though. We are not particularly outdoorsy folk so Vegas, cruises, and city vacations are our ideas of a good time. We can spend a day or two at a national park or camping and enjoy it but then we are ready for something else. Might have to get used to it.

I am not outdoorsy either. Where I live everyone is into camping and hiking. I hate camping. So everyone here is all happy because they may be opening up campsites at 50 percent capacity for the summer. I have zero desire to do that. I am a city person and those are the vacations that are fun for me as well. I would actually rather stay home than go camping and sleep in a tent. haha.

I long ago gave up camping. But nature can be had with a real hotel or similar ... unless contemplating a John Muir Trail hike.

I'm retired and enjoy being at home. I have a Home Theater set up and spent many thousands of dollars to avoid going to movies simply because my watching a movie at home is a better experience that cannot be duplicated outside. My 65" 4K TV, surround sound, Nvidia Shield with Nvidia high end GC on my PC, etc.
I have friends/relatives come over to enjoy the experience. I go to Vegas solo but at home it's the opposite, besides, most of those people hate Vegas, so it's easy to plan a trip......LOL.

I also have Vegas in my home. I play slots and table games on my 4K through Caesars every day. It's basically a virtual reality Vegas. Now, don't get me wrong, i will continue to inhabit Vegas like i have done since the late 70's, but my safety is of concern to me in traveling across state where billions of people will converge at once. So i'm willing to wait it out a lot further down the road.

Yeah, mainly it's the restaurants though. A lot of what I like doing on vacation is eating interesting things on dishes that will be washed by other people and being waited upon.

Also, even if I didn't have to wear a mask, I still find it a bit creepy to see them on everyone else. I guess it goes against my natural instinct to be able to recognize people.

Post-Editing to clarify that I am not saying people shouldn't be wearing masks; but that I do not intend to spend time in places like Las Vegas that have high probability of transmission as long as it is advised to wear them.

We've always been at the "mercy" of who knows what goes on behind the scenes. I'm not increasingly worried about the washing procedures now v. before. It's still that proximity thing.

And, seriously, restaurateurs under 25% orders are going to self-police that, whether Vegas or anywhere? Please. Look at how people laugh at and flaunt what we're supposed to be doing right now.

I think it'll be next year. I want to see how folks respond to the restrictions before I can make an informed decision. I also want to monitor the airline response. It's already hard to get excited about being packed like sardines. To do it sitting next to someone who could get you sick is a hard ask.

I want to second that! I'm so scared of hurting another person. I love people, my family, my students, and all of those around me. There's even a little soft spot for all of the people here on VMB. You all are all wonderful. When my daughter left home to go to law school and pretty much made her own way, I missed her so much, the VMB was a morning ritual to connect with a group. I would be horrified if anyone here ever got sick. I know there are a lot of older people, retirees who log in, you remind me so much of my own parents. Please please take this slow. I Skype them every day and remind them to stay inside. If I could Skype you all too, I would.

It doesn't mean that we won't go back but it means we will do it slowly.

I actually trust the casinos to take care of their customers because they don't want customers to get sick and spread it and have a similar situation to the cruise ships. Also, I worked at a casino and I know how they are with their crews. At least I know how they were in the 90s.

I've thought about this and I think if they reorganize the casino floors it can be done. I think this means some things need to go away that should have gone away years ago:

    1. Cocktail service. That's gonna be a mess. I have no idea how that works. Personally, I don't drink enough for that to be an issue for me. I seriously maybe get 2-3 drinks per trip preferring to concentrate on the game. I've seen these to-go drinks after the Coronavirus that look like Capri-Suns..I'm so down for that, pre-measured, clean and fair (no bartender short-changing you or messing it up). The bars should be specialty only, like the really expensive and complicated drinks. As much as I love Sam Malone, this isn't the 80s, time to close Cheers.
    2. Smoking. That has needed to be gone for years. Give them one floor or section and get the air purifier going please.
    3. Traffic on LV Blvd and smooshing people on the sidewalk. Dumping that exhaust into the air for me to breathe on my vacation while I sardine in next to my unmasked neighbors from all over the world who may have viral spread. No thank you. Why is anyone driving down that street anyway. Turn that street into a park. Make it a nature destination too. People getting away from the city would love that aesthetic. They got to give people room to walk around without being stuffed.
    4. Remember room service? bring it back.
    5. Add more table games, give better odds. Quit nickling and diming. Cannot do that now, the gamblers will not tolerate 6/5 Blackjack and terrible VP payouts anymore. Also, cut the number of chairs. Yes, spend money.
    6. Buh-bye Buffets - I hated them anyway and always skipped. Unless it was late-night munchies. Even then, gross.
    7. Pools, well everyone needs to update their Cabanas and remodel that and cut it back. I have no idea how you do Pools, Pools was one of the best experiences for me in Vegas, that's a tough one. Maybe skip this year until everyone gets shots?

My last thought in New Vegas is that it would be smaller, more intimate in every way. With a lot of crowd monitoring and control.

Vegas is incredibly resourceful, they have an amazing team, and they are strong. #VegasStrong

I will go back, when it is safe to do so, and when I will, I'll be there in a big way, ridiculously tipping, playing craps without any regard to math, and having adventures. Love you all and Love Vegas, please stay safe, this is oversaid and overdone, but we are all in this together.

I intend to be there within 2 weeks of the re-opening. It's an opportunity to sneak out there without spending work PTO since we're currently on furlough. I expect to be back at work by July 1st. I'll bring my laptop to play some poker tourneys but otherwise I'll be playing video poker/craps/blackjack for the most part and just walking around and enjoying the fresh air and lights. I need to get out and stretch my legs a bit. Been home too much.

I'm also looking forward to seeing a weird Vegas with things closed down and awkward social distancing queues all over the place.

    Welp, scratch that! :(

Just got the word that Defcon is cancelled. :(

I just realized that this is now the first time in over 20-some years where I have absolutely no Las Vegas plans upcoming. :(

Have a room booked for G2E in October that I made the reservation for way before Corona. I don't even know if G2E will still be happening, or if it does it is possible it would be closed to the public.

As of now I am strongly thinking the trip is not going to happen. It's a 5 hour flight, some casinos still may not be open at all, and if the social distancing rules are in effect due to the virus that would ruin it entirely for me.

I go to Vegas to have fun with friends and if every other machine is turned off and employees are walking around breaking up groups of people, which was suggested in the reopening plan, that would not be fun for me.

I can do all the gambling I want at the casino 15 minutes away. Vegas for me is more about the social part of it, seeing friends who I don't get to see often. Without that it doesn't seem worth it for me to make the trip

I have been thinking about this and even asked some vegas regulars who are much younger and not at risk (28 ish and they have said the same things
First, it has to be fun that means I can do more than gamble and am not wearing a mask every second
Second I do not want to be scared of everything I touch
But maybe this is the big one I know a vaccine is a long way off but there needs to be a treatment that actually reduces the chance of death. Not a perfect treatment but one that mostly works

As we always do, we waited for the release of the NFL schedule before cementing our poker trip dates. Our preferred weekend of Nov 6 was out as the Packers play on Thursday, Nov 5. Because one of our guys is an expectant first-time grandfather in early-October and is planning a trip to visit his daughter, the only two viable weekends were early-Sept and Hallowe'en weekend. Either trip would be two weeks before or after an already-scheduled trip to Nevada (making three trips in five weeks) but I was going to suck it up for all of the parties in all three trips.

But then we got to talking about what poker might look like in September and November, and one guy said "Why not just do it Super Bowl weekend and make that a blow-out trip instead of a cheap whirlwind?" And you know what? The only answer is the same ones that would jeopardize the earlier trips... what would poker look like? Pushing into February gives poker another four or five months to suss out. And if the Super Bowl is delayed, we can delay with it.

So anyway, that was our thought process. We want a good trip, so we chose to delay and let the poker side of Vegas try to recover.
