For me, going today to a reopened Las Vegas would be irresponsible and not fun.

The month of June is going to tell us quite a bit about quite a lot. I have little hope for visiting this year and very little hope for a visit that would be like my usual trips.

can't agree more about the mask assessment above... want to say more but I might violate the rules and I love this place too much! We need a "anything goes" thread - call it Thunderdome - enter at your own risk!

I just officially cancelled my June 7th flight a few days ago. I so wanted to go. Now the flights are much more expensive so I didn’t reschedule. I did book MGM Grand a Stay Well Queen for September- 4 free nights + Resort Fee. I still plan on taking my Grandson if restrictions are gone. If not I can be a homebody.

@Valgal I'm holding on to September too, plus booked an October one just in case. I still haven't cancelled my two June trips or the one in July. Who knows, maybe SW will cancel them and feel obligated to give me something nice to make it up to me.

I’ll go as soon as I can.

As long as I can gamble at the tables, there is free alcohol, and places for me to eat, I will be there.

Heck, less people constantly in my way walking at a glacial pace might even be a plus!

Like I could afford THAT ticket. Well...I could afford it, but Raiders are going to have to find some other sucker to pay for that stadium. :D

You've already helped pay for it if you've paid hotel taxes in Vegas.

Seriously thinking of going May 17-21. Parts of Vegas are tenatively scheduled to open up that week.
Know it ain't much, but as an intrepid traveler, willing to give it a whirl. I can have fun doing about anything.

I have always tried very hard to never do that. Curious, when you have comped room with no fees, does the casino/hotel still have to pay any tax based on your occupancy?

I was booked on a flight with vpJacks leaving tomorrow at noon for an 8-day trip. Comps at Caesars, Sunset, Main Street, and Cromwell, then home. Oh well. Cancelled the last item, the flight, last night. Back in early March it seemed like maybe this trip could have happened. Now I have a flight credit that I’ll need to use eventually. I believe I’ll spend the summer checking out AC and my locals whenever and however they open up. We’ll all be back eventually. Hang in there, folks.

pretty sure there's still a few airlines which aren't requiring masks (yet?) and no casinos have said masks will be required of guests. if im wrong i honestly look forward to being corrected so as to provide accurate intel.

You’re only wrong in the sense that no Las Vegas casino has re-opened yet and though they have plans and guidelines for now, we won’t know how they’ll update requirements until they’re back up and running.

100% agree. everything is written in pencil, even after they open. because really, if some spike in clark county occurs or if worst case scenario some outbreak occurs within the confines of a strip property, yea shît could change.

If I was a traveler and wanted a full Las Vegas experience, I would hold off for now. The Las Vegas strip has the potential to open in late May, however those reopening dates issued by the resorts are all tentative, and it all depends on how we are doing in phase 1 of the re-opening process, and when the casinos can actually reopen per our governor, who has not revealed the date. Our governor has even said that casinos would be open in "maybe phase 3 or 4".

Resorts have done a great job at revealing action plans for safety, however if I were you, I would consider booking the trip anytime after July. Assuming the strip would be open early June, that would give them enough time to figure out what is working, and what isn't. It would also give you the flexibility to stay informed in case we have another surge in cases and rollback some of the phases.

I bet there is going to be an initial rush of guests due to the pent up demand to get out of the house and have fun.

I'll be there June 18th. There will be some casinos open by then no doubt.
