Agree 100% @Multifarious5 but still not as bad as "The Talented Mr. Ripley." Good Lord.....Matt Damon probably has nightmares over this scene.

This was an easy vote for me. LOL Sean Connery! I've been a Bond fan for years and compare all other Bonds to him. I like Roger Moore, but he doesn't quite fit the mold completely. Although, he would be my second choice. I think Daniel Craig has been a pretty good Bond. I think his portrayal of a secret agent is probably more realistic in some ways. A lot darker with less fun and games. I would place Craig third on my list.

As for Pierce Brosnan, I use to watch him in that TV series, Remington Steele, so I really have a hard time seeing him as Bond. LOL I've also seen all of the Bond movies and I was never inspired by the way Niven, Lazenby or Dalton portrayed the character.

I went with Roger Moore .. I always liked him as a Bond.. Sean is awesome too, classy it’s too damn hard to narrow down to just one.
New four Daniel Craig is good too...

Sean Connery WAS James Bond. He was made to play the role. Never liked Roger Moore or any of the rest as Bond except Brosnan. When Brosnan was playing Remington Steel, I always thought he should play Bond. So for me it is Connery with Brosnan as a very worthy follow up. The rest of the guys suck. After Dr. No, Connery spoiled me for Bond.

The first Bond film I remember seeing, on its first run, anyway, was Goldfinger and that cast Connery, in my mind, as Bond, James Bond. :) My dad was an avid Fleming fan and he took me and my older brother to see it when it came out. I was maybe 10 or so at the time, and I remember enjoying the film even though it had some violence and quite a bit of it was over my head for the time. I remember I was kind of underwhelmed by Thunderball but I really enjoyed You Only Live Twice, which I remember seeing at the Astor when it was still a movie house and then again when it came to the neighborhood theaters. (Neighborhood theater? What's that?)

I do remember enjoying Live And Let Die but always thinking that Moore was the Dick Sargent of Bond films. :)

Gotta go with Sean. He invented the role.

A big topic among the boys in the neighborhood was if the women swimming during the titles on Thunderball were actually naked or not.

Dalton is underrated, he had to be in some pretty poorly written films but I think he did the character justice.

Craig and him are my favorite. Definitely the grittiest Bonds. Connery is the OG but way too likeable. To me it should be clear that James Bond is a sociopath, not someone to be emulated.

Oh, also wanted to point out that 'the field' option is way more people than those three...

Craig plays the character like no other, and as it is out of "genre," as solid as he is, he doesn't rise to the top. But those of us of a certain age, who had Connery and then the smarm of Roger Moore and some of the worst writing in the series, know it is Connery. Brosnan wasn't actually bad. Dalton sucked. Niven doesn't count because it was not of this series. Lazenby did a great job in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" but it was a one-off.

I voted for Connery I believe someone said just right. I agree he was smooth and tough at the same time.
I thought Roger. Moore camped it up too much for me although Live and Let Die is one My favs. Great song too.
I thought Pierce did a good job. He was just to pretty for Bond
Daniel brought the role back to its roots. His run has been a reboot. He was figuring out how he liked his martini. He also looks lime someone you would not f*** with in bar.

I grew up in the Roger Moore era so I probably enjoyed his films more, I think there was more humour in them films. Connery is always held in high regard as he was there when it started as a franchise. Timothy Dalton also made a very good Bond and he brought a little more darkness to the role after the Roger Moore years. Pierce Brosnan I thought made a good Bond and if it wasn't for his Remmington Steele commitments then he would of been in the role a lot earlier. Daniel Craig is a different type of Bond and the reboot brought Bond into the modern day.

Roger Moore did have some good lines in his films.
