I just got this from someone, so I'm not sure if it was an email or some notification in the Wynn Slots app.

ETA: This was posted on Facebook.

I went to the Wynn website and the dates for today through May 21 are blocked out on their booking calendar.

Agree and thanks for the update @Sonya. Reading and re-reading VMB info and posts is keeping me sane. :)

    Thanks for posting.

.... but so very, very depressing.

The extension well into May is not surprising, but when you see it in writing, it hits home.

I only hope it's just 'til May 22!

Update: Deleted a sentence that only implied something by lack of content. I guess? :)

Whatever the opening date becomes I am just curious as to how all of this will work within a casino.

Any game involving people touching the same cards, chips or dice is vulnerable to a virus spread. Machines can be wiped down as often as possible but will dealers and cocktail waitresses now wear masks?

I am very interested to know how all of this will play out.

Wow that is crazy.... may 22nd!! But I suppose it’s safer route, I’m thinking most casinos will follow the Wynns policy..
I haven’t heard anything from mgm yet has anyone?

May 22nd makes sense for their planning and guests planning. there are three phases in the process and a minimum of 14 days in each phase from now you are talking 6 weeks if everything goes perfect. The date gives everyone involved a roadmap. I too believe that it will be farther out than this for opening. I will go with a month that starts with J for opeining, I hope its not january.

FWIW I talked to my host at CET a few weeks ago and she said they would update everyone on or about May 15. Maybe the update will come sooner now that Wynn stepped up and said something.

CET are probably still sorting through their copy & paste of Wynn's PDF :)

I just checked to see if there were better rates for my (soon to be cancelled, most likely) trip on May 17th and Ceasars has blocked out room availability through May 15.

If you have time, read the Wynn plan re opening up. It's on the Wynn website. All employees, with an emphasis on those in the "front of the house", will be required to wear masks.

On a happier note, my Wynncore host and I have already texted about how we will great each other, consistent with social distancing, when we next see each other.

I sent him this link from the CNN website about different ways of greeting each other without shaking hands. :)

First, this thread was for informational purposes, not for you to express your opinion about whether states are being too cautious or not cautious enough about this virus. Stop it. This is not the place for it. And your subtle attempts at skirting around the politics are not that successful anyway. I should have given out warnings, but a number of you are on the cusp of a temporary vacation from VMB. Knock it off!

Agree! The Wynn plan is the only one we have out there right now for how ONE casino is considering reopening on a rolling basis. You can find the whole plan here: https://www.visitwynn.com/documents/Wynn-Health-Plan.pdf

If you don't have time for all that reading, I have put the hilights of the plan, including what will be the process for guests, check in, housekeeping, casino gaming, etc in a post in the COVID Sticky here - https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?threads/coronavirus-covid-19-information.171570/page-3#post-2024010

I recommend everyone take a look at one or the other (or both, but redundant!) to get an idea of what Vegas might look like when it reopens.

I haven't heard anything from MGM yet, but we also haven't heard from the Governor. There are rumors floating around about some other casinos opening in May or June, but please remember that the Governor can shut all of that down by extending the closure into June or July.

The White House plan for opening even Phase One businesses (which arguably are NOT casinos or places where large numbers congregate) requires 14 days of decreasing cases and hospital beds in use. That is not yet happening in Nevada. I'm not saying they aren't going to reopen, but I'm suggesting people not get their hopes up too high quite yet. There is still a LONG way to go before we have any kind of clarity about what is going to happen in Las Vegas.

    Yep.

Nowhere has any casino given an opening date.

Lots of dates that they are still closed. And then another announcement with a further date of still closed.

Why anyone would guess that they would open the day after that has not been reading the news.

It will be very clear when they actually open.

Though I have some ideas like every other person - they are of little value, so I will not bother.

Let me correct that - slightly.

TI has posted this on their website. Not sure if that is really a statement, or just a maybe.

By order of Nevada Governor's office, Treasure Island - TI is currently closed, and will reopen on May 15, 2020 (subject to change).

That wasn't directed at you, but to a couple of the people who posted things I deleted. I suppose I could have left more space between the two to indicate that I was changing subjects by moving on to the quoted posts.

I quoted you and @Flowers with agreement with Flowers about looking at the Wynn plan and links to where you can find the Wynn Plan. It's really the best indication we have right now for what it's going to look like when Vegas reopens. There wasn't anything in there critical of you or your question.

You can see some guidelines in these images:

There are a lot more. I have questions about (b) in the image above. Does that mean we will have "normal" cocktail service, or does "serve beverage upon request" mean you'll have to call for one to come to you, instead of them roaming the floor saying "Cocktails"? I wish we knew for sure, but we'll have to wait and see what people on the ground report when the first people are visiting Vegas after the closure.

Thanks, Sonya - I re-read it several times and came to the same conclusion hence my redaction.

I am now reading the Wynn info.
