Received an email from Hard Rock Atlantic City stating rooms available as low as $39 starting April 17th; Borgata's website allows booking starting April 17th.

I guess, as of now, AC will re-open April 17th?

My CET calendar is showing April 3, but I bet that gets pushed back at least somewhat. For those interested, CET is also showing comps galore, so I snapped one up at Caesars for Memorial Day.

When I checked last night Ocean Casino Resort was allowing bookings as of April 3rd; I just checked again and April 17th is earliest.

They are taking reservations but it will be up to Gov. Murphy to let the casinos open.

Edit: I'm not one to piss on anyone's corn flakes, for the record, I can't wait go go down and walk the boards, casino hop, visit a dive bar, play some VP while sipping a real cocktail.

The Tropicana in Atlantic City is not taking reservations until May 1st. I have friends that work in security at Borgata and they told me that from what they are hearing it will be the end of April or early May. Right now I don't think the governor of NJ is going to allow anything to reopen until the numbers of people getting the virus levels off.

Yes, seems like Caesar's properties are allowing reservations startling 4/17. However, I kinda doubt that is going to be the case for too long. My junket to Lauglin is supposed to be on the 20th. I think I would be quite uneasy doing this then. Hoping that the shutdown is extended a bit OR I am allowed to cancel without the $800 penalty they said I would incur.

The wife and I have tickets to the “price is right” on 5/1 at Harrahs. If we can’t go Mrs Wallew is not going to be a happy camper.

A cover of Springsteen’s song of the same name, some great shots of AC.

Yes, Hard Rock is advertising rates at 39$ In AC but when I went on their website thru the link from the email, it was way more than that and did not see any dates for 39$ even weekdays...I booked the Borgata 5 nights for memorial weekend and got 4 nights comp out of 5, the paying night rate is 69$, only disappointment the water club room was not available...being Gold with Mlife might get us an upgrade if not too busy

@Luv2cruise, others might chime in, but I understand that the standard Borgata rooms were recently renovated and Water Club rooms are slated for renovation in the near future.

I stayed in a WC room around September 2018 and it was a little worn around the edges compared to a regular room in the Borgata tower. Memorial Day Weekend is always busy and they hold upgraded rooms for high rollers.

Yes, stark images now, but hoping that in June the summer wind will be blowin’ in from across the sea.

I spoke to my host yesterday and they're not sure when they'll open but they're still taking reservations. I booked July 4th. For what it's worth, he mentioned that they're still walking through the property every week to ensure the water runs and things are working properly. They're also instituting much more rigorous health practices, we'll see how well they're enforced lol

The standard main tower rooms were renovated in 2012-13, which was less than 10 years after it opened. I wouldn't view that as recent. As we are now close to 7 years from that last renovation, they would be updating them again in a little over 2 years from now, if they do it every 9 years. The Fiore suites in the main tower were recently under renovation, and were all supposed to be finished by Spring 2020.

I have a feeling regardless of what any online dates for any property say, it's all speculation until it actually happens.

Nothing in Jersey is opening until July at the earliest. It’s a sad state of affairs here locally.

I feel that other parts of the country will open back up earlier without a doubt. Our beloved AC will have to wait. It makes sad to say that but that’s just the way it is.

Las Vegas does have a pretty dedicated group of degans waiting for it to open back up. AC has a much more dedicated group of locals that are waiting for it to open up.

    So goes the current situation.

Is this speculation by virtue of what you think the governor will do? I feel like June is reasonable. Otherwise, if July 1st is opening date, I'm not going.

I don't know if small businesses can hold that long...until July. If independent small businesses (real small, like 10-20 employee mom & pop businesses) can't open by June many of them will go under. I know when I had a business (9 employees) I could not have held out longer than 60 days.
