Wynn Slots Anyone think they’ll ease up the VIP system?

With Covid shutting Vegas down and costing them half a billion a month in lost gambling revenue alone - not to mention the billions more on food, drink, rooms and entertainment - does anyone think they’ll losen up on all the recent changes to start filling their hotel again?

I believe they’re hoping to open again on may 1st but I don’t see that actually happening. Even if it did, I’m sure many would be too worried to go (and would certainly steer clear of the buffet) and people like me in the UK still wouldn’t be allowed even if we wanted unless they start to let us fly in again. So its going to be a slow climb back up to where they were and everyone is going to be fighting for those early scraps. I would expect in the real world to see cut price buffers, cheap drink deals and so on to get the smaller crowds into their own hotel rather than someone else’s and so surely Wynn slots and myVEGAS would be mad not to use the apps as a way of increasing human traffic into their hotels.

so will we see a return to a more reasonable VIP system? Or will they be too scared to do that knowing inevitably they’ll have to go through the fallout again of putting it back up. Or maybe there could be a big increase in the number of special events and how many free vip points you get to effectively make it easier to move up the ladder.

to be honest, my biggest deal breaker is only being able to get two nights at level 3. If I could still get FOUR nights, I’d bite that bullet. I think many others would too. Nobody is going to pay £750 to get to level 5 with the addition of months of play when you could go pay directly pretty much the same amount and be done.

Anyone see hope on the horizon?

I think there will be a LOT of promotions and good opportunities when Vegas reopens.
But even if this app shows signs of lightening up, I just don't trust them anymore...

Everyone one is so eager to go back to vegas I doubt you are going to see any spectacular deals in the near future. You'll see plenty of mediocre deals though.

I think lowering the VIP level for number of nights seems like a great idea. Maybe just drop it one level so you could book three nights at Level 3, four nights at level 4 and maybe eliminate level 5 because I really doubt many will cough up several hundred to get to that level. Or maybe drop the number of crowns from 75,000 to 50,000, then you could probably get away with only spending about $400 or so for a four night stay. I personally believe Vegas deals will be plentiful once they reopen.

Not a chance. The people running the app are separate from Wynn and are not losing billions in revenue. The model was poorly conceived from the beginning and is broken. They did what they did to rein back the benefits. Nothing that has happened has changed any of that. When it starts up again, they still have the same issue of everyone that gamed the system and got too many gems. Most people have/would have stopped playing the game once their current VIP level zeroed out. This is just delaying that journey into oblivion.

Besides, if there are a lot of good deals when we start up again, that makes the cost/benefit of this game even worse.

Well, call me a sucker, but I will continue to play. I still believe that receiving $400+ in rooms at one of Vegas's finest hotels for approximately $170 is worth my time—not to mention the six totally free nights I've already enjoyed.

Of course this is all speculation but I personally don't think so. They have pushed so many away from it that they have righted the ship. The model they had was simply unsustainable. Their hands were forced to do something. The value proposition just isn't there for many anymore. They should never have rolled out the app as it was when it first came on the scene. I actually wonder if they aren't going to fold it.

If the Wynn doesn’t reopen on May 1 and they need to cancel more existing reservations made through the app, I do think there’s a good chance they do another extension of existing VIP levels at least.

I can forsee the following changes:

VIP points reset clock will be extended another 30 days if the casino closure is extended into may.

Percentage gem discount for room bookings will disappear, at least for level 3.

Consecutive nights will be replaced with Nights per month.

They will increase the VIP point requirement for level 1 earning at the last minute of the last day before reset to screw over all the non paying players trying to redeem gems for buffets before washing their hands of the game.

I peg the chances of Wynn re-opening by May 1 at approximately 0%.

I have asked that we not do these speculation threads at least a dozen times. They don't help anyone because nobody knows anything, and they usually just end up with people attacking each other for not agreeing, not taking the virus seriously, taking it too seriously, etc.

I understand we are all wondering, but everyone giving their best guess doesn't bring us any closer to an actual answer.
