    Hello all,

hope everyone is staying safe. I currently
Have reservations booked for the Mirage and the Flamingo mid June (if Vegas opens of course). I booked these while I was there in March to hope to return sooner rather than later. With that being said I have 3 comp nights at the Flamingo and will be paying for 1 night the total is around $230. I have 4 comp nights at the Flamingo for $160. It will probably be a couple of us staying in a room we are all around 29 like to gamble, go to the pool, eat, etc. I have never stayed at either property, but recently I have been playing at more Caesar Entertainment properties. With that being said what hotel would you stay at given the circumstances?

    Thanks!

Really appreciated your relief work even tho I am a Reds fan!:D If you are a cigar smoker, Mirage is your spot- the Rhumbar in front of it is a great place to smoke and partake in a libation. Other than that, Flamingo is more center strip, they have the nature habitat if you're into that sort of thing, and free is for me!

I am on team Flamingo. For whatever reason (probably my deep tissue cognac hangover) I didn't vibe with Mirage. I hear the pool at Mirage can't be beat though, so your mileage may vary.

I liked Flamingo as I got an easy and cheap upgrade to a new, Flamingo room on a top floor. Omina right across the street, no noise, easy access to Caesars Palace, Linq, the Buffet, Lyft pick up area (although a hike), and the Habitat. When I go back I will always insist on the fancy room now. Flamingo also had good people watching for the various lines for shows there, and club overflow crowd. Easy to get to the Cromwell too.

Ladies getaway, somewhere on the strip with a pool :)

I also heard that Mirage has a really good pool, but also the Flamingo has the go pool which is more of a club vibe

1 - if you call in, you may be able to get that extra night comped.

2 - You mention you booked in March. You might be able to find a better deal if you book a new reservation.

3 - You mention a couple of us. Not sure how many, but maybe get rooms at both places. You can sign in and give keys to friends.

4 - If you are trying to build yourself up for future comps, pick the hotel chain you want for future trips

Quality and cleanliness. Mirage hands down. I stayed at the Mingo once, and the rooms were bad.

Pool? Mirage pool is very nice, but as said earlier, the Mingo pool has a younger party vibe to it.

Mirage is just the better hotel. However, as to the room, type matters a lot. Fab room at Flamingo are a no go. However, the Go and Flamingo class of rooms are I think better than the standard Mirage room which has a tiny bathroom. The Tower King at Mirage would be the best not suite choice

I will say this and I've got my ass kicked at the Mirage gambling wise over the years. Mirage without a doubt.. something about the place I just really really like.. But I do like the big bird.... but comparing the two.. Mirage hands down .

Same age as you, and stayed a Flamingo everytime. Love it, Go Pool is awesome, fairly easy poker room, and central strip is so nice!

Wow, did Mirage move someplace else? I haven't been to Vegas in a year, perhaps i missed the memo?
I am a Caesars guy, but i do know that Mirage is a better overall Hotel than Flamingo.
And correct me if i'm wrong, but unless something has changed, Mirage is a crosswalk away from Flamingo. You can see Mirage from the Flamingo casino.
Perhaps i'm bored from staying in my house for so long, but this whole location thing about Vegas is getting out of hand.....gawd forbid you guys have to travel long distances to a place like Bellagio, that's quite a trek....LOL.

Close, but Harrahs is across from the entrance to Mirage.
Walk through or past Harrahs to Linq
    Cross Linq Alley
    Then go past Margaritaville Restaurant
    and then into Flamingo

Not far really though. Map here

Kinda been my point for years. Now Mandalay to Wynn isn't a five-minute stroll, but these hair-splitting gradients between the larger boundaries just get laughable, unless someone is mobility limited. It's vacation. Most are out and about all over a good amount of the time, anyway.

0.4 miles and 8 minutes if Google maps is right.

Yeah unless you plan on spending every waking moment doing something at Flamingo and The Strip, Mirage's location is just as good.

I am a fan of both hotels. I have such fond memories at both. I enjoyed the pools at both - but however, kids-wise, I would give the edge to the Mirage as the Flamingo's pool is much smaller when compared to the Mirage and has way more kids running around.

Gambling wise - I think I had more fun at the Flamingo than the Mirage - but only because I think the Mirage's machines are tighter, LOL. However, Flamingo also has Bird Bar which gives you a good deal if you like to play tables while buzzed and/or taking a break and hanging at the bar.

Overall, you can't go wrong with either property, but I would give the slight edge to the Mirage for the pool. The Flamingo gets an edge for the location. If I recall correctly, you can bring your own drink to the Mirage's pool too. Limit 2, I believe. Same for MGM Grand. (This may have changed.)

Rooms at both properties.... I haven't stayed at the Flamingo in about 5 years, so I would probably give the edge to the Mirage based on cleanliness of the room.

    Good luck!

My choice would be the Mirage. I have never stayed at either but always make the walk to Mirage from PHO so my wife can look at one of the shops she likes on the walkway to the gardens. The only time I spend in the Flamingo is going to the bathroom while my wife plays her favorite machine in the old Margeritaville casino. Flamingo does comp a better IPA than the Mirage.
