I just went on SWA to cancel my Vegas flights for the end of April.
I was pleasantly surprised that they now have access to your available travel funds right on the main account page.
It saves having to track down confirmation #'s and expiration dates. Never noticed it previously.
They may have added due it to what I can only imagine are overwhelming cancellations.
Thought everyone would want to know, so we can all reschedule our trips as easily and as soon as possible once Las Vegas is open again for business.

I really like that they have them available now, keeping track didn't work so well for me.

To take it a step further, it would have been nice if when you are booking a flight they would be available there too instead of just the my account page. Hope that made sense.

Does a canceled flight thru SWA currently entitle you to a refund , or just future flight credit? Bob

I did not know this was on my main account page. Last night I was digging through all my southwest emails and punching in the canceled confirmation number to see if I had any travel funds on them

there are some long and PAINFUL threads about cancel.

In general, any travel funds are good from one year of the ORIGINAL booking, even if reused. They are in the middle of making major changes to extend that until June 2012 during the current crisis. That has not happened yet. More details on the Southwest Virus information page.

As to cancel... it appears that if you push the point with an agent on a flight cancelled by the airline (not you), you should be able to get a cash refund. YMMV

But, really, if you will fly on SWA between now and June 2021, just do the travel funds.

Personally, we have a dozen flights booked with them over the next 90 days, all with points, so easy to change.

Exactly why I thought it was great new feature.
Always was a PIA to recover the info and apply the right ones.

I read those threads but have to confess, I am still a bit confused and the SW page didn't clarify things for me.
I have about $900 in travel funds that expire mid-June 2020 and another $600 or so that expire mid-October.

I know @nostresshere that you are the guru. So, is it true that eventually my $900 that expires this June will be extended to June 2021 and that my October expiration date remain "as is"?

Here's Southwest's policy. Not sure when your flight was originally scheduled.

Can you use Travel Funds to pay for Early Bird?

Yeah, that's the confusing part. I believe the travel funds were created because I cancelled the flights earlier this month but I have so much travel credit I am not sure. But that's flights that I cancelled, not flights SW cancelled. When I read that I interpreted it broadly to mean any flights I cancelled between March and May would have their expiration dates extended a year but I am just not sure.

Flights were originally booked in June 2019, which is why they currently have an expiration date of June 2020.

Not the final or best guru... but I had a few bucks that expire late this year. I booked a flight for April, and then cancelled it. Hopefully that resets the date and it will eventually become June 2021. Maybe, mabue not.

Thanks @nostresshere. I think when the dust settles for SW in a few weeks I will call and see if I can get someone on the line to confirm whether I am good or whether I need to book using soon-to-be-expired travel credits and then cancel a bunch of flights before May 31st.

Yeah it doesn't look too promising. Def. a good plan to give a call when everything simmers down.

    It's about time.
Previously it was easy to forget or overlook unused to travel funds.

I'm confused. I originally booked my flight in Feb 2020 for a flight in June 2020. I am still hoping to make that flight. But if they cancel they will be good until June 2021 now? That would be awesome.
