    https://thenevadaindependent.com/article/nevada-interrupted-with-tourism-dried-up-neon-museum-finds-ways-to-connect-with-visitors-staying-at-home

When staff members at The Neon Museum in Las Vegas found out that they wouldn’t be able to welcome visitors for at least 30 days, per the governor’s public health advisory, they hatched a plan to bring the museum to people.

“Virtual tours” of the museum’s outdoor “boneyard” of vintage signs are available on a new web app. Online visitors just have to type in the password “Neon” to access photo, text and audio narration.

“We thought to ourselves, what can we do to help folks, especially folks who love the museum worldwide? How can we keep them engaged in what we do?” Neon Museum President and CEO Rob McCoy said in an interview on Wednesday.

Access the "tour" here - https://www.neonmuseum.app/guide

And please consider joining or donating to help them in this difficult time: https://www.neonmuseum.org/support-us

The Neon Museum will credit every member an extension for every day they are closed. Their membership rates are very reasonable. I highly encourage everyone to support them if possible:

I have a whole gallery of pictures from the Neon Boneyard, somewhere. I seem to have temporarily misplaced them.

I'll post a few if I can find them.

Wow. I was just listening to the Hard Rock audio. This looks to be a full tour, with curated narration. Thanks for sharing the link. I have been a member for 2 years and my membership just expired. Will renew.

Good to know. That was the main reason why I didn't renew my membership now as it is one year from the date you join and I didn't want to join now and waste potentially a month or two.

Here are some photos I took at the Neon Museum. The lovely ladies in the photos are my daughter and her best friend :)

Thank you for sharing these photos. Love that place. I may add some as well from my trip there over Thanksgiving. I took my goddaughter, BFF from law school (her mom) and my GD's cousin.

When you go back, make sure to see "Brilliant" while you're there. It's very worth it.

That is such a cool place! I went with some friends in January to catch the Tim Burton exhibit and told many more to check it out before it ended. Alas, two parties have had their trip dates come and gone while stuck at home. I'll have to let them know about the online viewing.

Thank you for letting us know! :)

My favorite sign -- EVER!!! Still not happy about Stardust being torn down. I can't wait until they finish restoring the sign with all of the amazing colors.:love::love::love:

Agreed. It's one of those things that doesn't necessarily seem like "culture", in the same way that people think of places like the Met and such, but they serve an incredibly vital purpose in preserving Vegas history. I've been at various Benefactor levels for a while now.

I do wish their membership system was a little better-organized -- at the Met, for example, I had a dual membership that had two cards, one for "44inarow" and one for "guest of 44inarow". Neon Museum, by contrast, gives you one card with your name on it and one that's just blank, and you can only book one appointment at a time on the website, so every time I want to take a guest there, it's a whole production where I have to get on the phone with them. I do find it amusing that their lowest level is "Sahara", whereas their most expensive level is "Las Vegas Club". $5,000 is a lot for a level named after a place that had shampoo dispensers bolted to the wall.

As an aside, the backstory to Terrible's has always been hilarious to me. Supposedly when he was buying into one of the markets (I want to say the original Chicago-area gas station) someone was like, "Oh, no, not that terrible Herbst." And he just kept it.
