We are still in the 'doubling every three days' trend and actually closer to doubling every two days. We really need to be past that 3 day thing and closer to doubling every 10-12 days before people will even have confidence that we are on the other side of this.

There is the world we really really want to see. There is the world as it exists. Keep dreaming of the one. Live as you should in the other.

We switched our April Keith Urban tickets to August. Here’s hoping.

We are booked for May 1-5. Haven't cancelled yet, but fully expect we will have to do just that.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be comfortable. Even if I was, i doubt all of my favorite restaurants would be open, and that is a big part of the fun for me now. As it is I’m still not sure things will be fully back in swing by my August visit.

If they opened it just for me I would go.

    Otherwise, no chance.

On a side note, I don't understand why there are commercial airplanes still flying over my house all day long. Shut that chit down for a few weeks.

The planes are virtually empty - think like 4 total on board. A lot of what's left is getting people home. Expect schedules to be axed heavily in the upcoming weeks.

As for the topic I'll probably let the dust settle for a few weeks before going back. I had nothing booked in late April anyway so I'll probably just resume in may if everything reopens. But I'll sure as hell be washing my hands and that sort of stuff a lot more than I did before.

It's one of the big mysteries, to be honest. I get the financial damage they would endure, and some people HAVE to travel but I wonder how much faster we could get through all this if the airlines just shut down for a couple weeks.

Not scheduled to go until late September and I am completely fine with that. It’ll probably take a month or so after Vegas opens up for all the operations and support mechanisms to get fully ramped up again so I’m in no rush to get back out there anytime soon. I’d rather wait and visit Vegas when it’s 100% up and running than rush it to only get a half-assed vacation. Besides, it’s a destination spot for visitors from all over the world - for me it just makes sense for things to calm down a helluva lot more before I put myself in the mix and expose myself, and potentially others, to any risk. Vegas is way, way, way down on my list of priorities for the foreseeable future.....

Hope all of VMBland is staying safe and healthy.

If we had remotely decent testing/tracking data we could see just how much air travel is acting as a, well, vector.

Moot. Won't reopen on the 16th.

As for the poll options they aren't exactly complete, because many of us are not even american and could actually still have travel bans in place for months after casinos reopen (especially if they made the questionable move of reopening so early).

And once the travel loosens, there are still going to be advisories and self-isolation policies for people returning for some time after that. And personally, even without them, im not really going to consider travel vacations, and will be limiting social contact to some degree until all the local surges of this wave are over, and I have high confidence that the western world is on top of testing and tracing for the next wave.

Realistically, I would not have the option to go to Vegas until late summer or fall. It may not be a good idea well past that.

I can go whenever I choose, providing there are no travel bans in place. My summer trip is most likely going to be cancelled, and if it's not, I'm almost certain to cancel it.

Even though I think it will be open by summer, I'm looking at Xmas for my trip. Not clamouring to get back into the petri dish that is Vegas, as soon as I possibly can.

Already cancelled late April trip. Likely nothing will be open until May, if then. I have nothing on the books until Thanksgiving for now. May try to go late July/August.

I have reservations for the first half of July, but I'm expecting that will be a no-go unless something drastically changes. I'm basically just waiting to see if JetBlue ends up cancelling my flights on their own; if not, I'll probably just eat the cancellation fees.

I was able to book fully refundable JetBlue flights for the end of August and booked hotels. We'll see what things look like then. Hoping to get that August trip in because a trip next winter could be iffy as well.

Nope. I’ve sworn off December trips because I always catch somebody’s bug. People don’t cancel their Vegas trips just because they feel a little bit under the weather. Until this thing starts to subside a casino is about as bad of an idea that I can think of.

I don’t see going until at least July, that’s if I feel confident I’ll find a job. I have a credit with Spirit that a need to book something with by September 15th. Their calendar is usually 6-8 months out. So for now I’m thinking next February for the Super Bowl.

As another poster said, I would probably be ok with going, but to me it will be a slow process of things opening-would I want to go with no shows open, limited restaurants, ect.?

Same here. As anxious as I am to return, I'm sure the casinos are even more eager to reopen. Combined with the heightened risk of flying, I'll let others be the first in line guinea pigs.
