I was at the "reunion" show of the Brothers at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, March 10th, the last Concert at MSG before the virus hit the fan. Everyone who was still alive was there, except for Dickie, and they played for close to 4 hours to a packed house. They played Jessica, In memory of Elizabeth Reed, Dreams and pretty much everything else they are known for. Haynes and Trucks shredded all night and everyone was having a blast, although conscious that this may be our last outing for a while, since the virus was spreading pretty intensely. Within 48 hours, the NBA shut down, Big East Tourney at MSG was cancelled, the NCAA cancelled the season, and the rest is history.

Setlist is here for Allman fans. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-brothers/2020/madison-square-garden-new-york-ny-4b99df72.html

Also +1 to La Villa Strangiato, YYZ and anything Rush (obviously, hence my avatar) and a big plus one to anything Satriani, plus my fave instrumentals that may or may not have been mentioned yet, of:

The Attitude Song - Steve Vai
Cliffs of Dover - Eric Johnson
    Hocus Pocus - Focus
    Frankenstein - Edgar Winter
    The Fish - Yes
    Soul Sacrifice - Santana
One of these days - Pink Floyd (limited vocals)
    Cissy Strut - The Meters
    Moby Dick - Led Zeppelin
    The Hellion - Judas Priest
    Foreplay - Boston
    Toad - Cream

And my favorite non-instrumental no more (I hope this copies in correctly, apologies if not, I don't know how to post videos)

I'll put one of my favorite bands up here, and yes, it's a long one. While technically not a true instrumental due to the fact they repeat "Divided sky the wind blows high." twice in the early stages of the song, this is a beautiful song that I'm always happy to hear when I go see the Phish.

The whole album by Jimmy Mcgriff called Blues For Mr. Jimmy. This one song in particular was titled Turn Blue. Any Ghoulardi fans out there will recognize it.

Good to see several references to "Ecstasy of the Gold" from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Here is my favorite version with the incomparable Ennio Morricone conducting.

Then there is this pretty cool version from Metallica.

Goes to show just how significant a film's soundtrack can be...nobody can hear that without 'seeing' the scene at the graveyard.

Here's one that gives me chills every time I hear it...& it still conjures up the opening scene & the final battle in the original 'Conan the Barbarian'... by Basil Poledouris, a glaring oversight for an Oscar for Best Original Soundtrack
